  • We did a great job showing at Creme D'Argent nationals, and I'm so excited that I was able to achieve the title for best intermediate doe and best fur with my girl Kite. In this video I go over a little bit about commercial rabbit body type. There's also a montage of what I've been foraging for my rabbits this spring.

    This is how we feed our rabbits. We also have willow and some other trees growing near us that our rabbits really enjoy.. and grape leaves and strawberry blackberry raspberry and honeysuckle

    Very beautiful, this would be something I would consider bc I use our hinds for blankets, so I cross my California doe to colored NZ bucks or cross my Cal bucks to colored NZ doe's. We breed for meat don't show, but most of my stick have came from show stock. But I like to breed for color. Thank you for sharing. Till next time God Bless.

    I live in Florida. I heard that this type of rabbit, champagne d’argent are good for hot climates, do you agree? Of course I would place in shade with fans and ice bottles. Right now have some Rex that are pretty well adapted to my area of North Florida but they also don’t like the heat at all, they are loving the cold winter temps

    Congrats on your National win! It’s really too bad Cassia was such a “B” and had to be culled since she’s produced a National Champion but hopefully daughter will be as good.

    • @TealStoneHomestead
      @TealStoneHomestead  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes, that pairing between Cassia and Churro produced very nice kits. Cassia was facing a health issue as well as aggression, so it was the right thing to do. Churro is now somewhere up in Canada! I have Kite’s younger sister held back, seeing how she matures 😊 onward and upward!

      @@TealStoneHomestead Maybe her health issues had something to do with her temperament. This doe is gorgeous!

    I love your vlogs I live in pa and have my own breeders and they are crosses or my best. Dutch buck and my rex female or lion head I also have 12 rabbits in total I do have new zealands and they are pur breds and I am selling 1 or 2 new zealands and I would advise when u ,ove to fence. your back yard in and get a female goat and barrow male breed her and show the baby or sell them I only have 1 female goat and borrowed a male and she is due toward the end of August but when u move try goats again but. get a female and breed her and they do well keeping your yard mowed down I just figured I would let u know I do. know u where gonna try goats but try again I tried once and didn't do it and now that I have a goat it is like good money coming in and then that is put toward the rabbits

    I have a question kind of unrelated; when you separate young bucks from their mom, when and how do you keep them from fighting?

    • @TealStoneHomestead
      @TealStoneHomestead  Před 2 lety +1

      We typically pull mom when the babies are around 8 weeks old. We try to separate sexes by 12 weeks old. By 16 weeks everyone has been sold, culled, or individually housed. Sometimes scraps break out before this, but that's just something that happens as the kits are maturing. There's not much you can do aside from separating if you're worried about them maiming each other.

    I have a question about nail color? I just got a couple crèmes (yay!) but I am not familiar with what “color” they should be, dark but not black, but mine look light but maybe not “white”? I just haven’t seen a lot crèmes and wonder what you think.

    • @TealStoneHomestead
      @TealStoneHomestead  Před 2 lety

      Congrats on your cremes! The standard says dark colored nails are preferred, but light toenails are permissible as long as they all match 😊

    How can I get a baby Crème from you ?

  • @TheFrogfeeder
    @TheFrogfeeder Před 2 lety

    In all seriousness, I’d buy some cremes from you if you’d sell em to me… I live in California, can rabbits be shipped? I’d love to get some pedigreed cremes… my calis and NZs are all pedigreed, my cremes pair is not… I’d probably even drive a ridiculous distance and definitely pay top dollar for em… Id want at least a pair, would love a trio…
