El Gran Maja - Submarine Expedition
El Gran Majá (The Great Maja) is a hypothetical marine creature (likely inspired by Bloop) that was created by Borisao Blois. El Gran Majá has extremely long, sharp teeth, and its mouth is tucked back a little bit. It is observed to have 6 white, small eyes, and a huge mouth. This monstrous sea creature is 675 m (2214 ft) long, almost doubling the length of the Bloop.

When your submarine is the size of one tooth, you have NO BUSINESS being that close to that mouth and shining floodlights in those eyes.
Human☕
@@ixo-digital Of course, the other side of that coin is that a creature that size likely wouldn't even bother trying to eat something that's small enough to fit between its teeth.
@@therealbahamutnot only that, but a creature of that size would not survive, they dont have what to eat.
It has gum disease too.
unless they have a secret mission to kill the creature from inside with nukes.
"Detecting multiple leviathan class lifeforms in the region. Are you certain whatever it is you are doing, is worth it?"
Correction
"Detecting an unfathomable life signature ahead. Are you certain whatever you are doing, is worth it?"
Lmfao. This thing is terrifying
I guess there's also a Ghost leviathan down there ☠️
I actually wish this was in Subnautica. Perhaps have it be the largest leviathan, but it isn’t super mobile. Maybe it mostly rests idle on the sea floor. It looks at you, yes, but because of how large it is, it isn’t aggressive toward you because you’re just not large enough to provide it the energy it needs. But if a Reaper swims by? Hooooooooo boy!
that is not a leviathan, it’s something worse
Detecting one giant ass leviathan slumbering in the area, turn back now
If there's one thing I learned in playing submarine type games, is that you IMMEDIATELY turn off sonar when there's a dangerous creature nearby, hell, turn off lights too.
Then you bump into the beast
You turn off the sonar, the lights, and take the guitar away from the clown
Subnautica😊
Wich game?
Barotrauma.
"Avoid any action that can trigger a defensive response."
"Understood, Alpha. So I'm gonna continue to steer this sub right towards it. Get all in it's face. It'll be fine, don't worry."
As army reservist, its pretty irritating to listen to such unnecessarily verbose radio comms. They speak goddamn national geographic narrators it puts me off
@@cpkeyes1823 You mean as, they overcomplicate terms/make them sound too "technical" or "tactical"? Or just the fact that they do not shut up during the op?
@@MattyQube Generally seen as a bad practice to crowd up comms channels with fullblown conversations.
Usually all radios communicating with eachother are on the same frequency so if two people are having a full on soap opera no one else can really talk.
“The target is waking up!” 2:11
I love that line there’s no big jump scare or dramatic music it’s that simple line that holds so much gravity of the situation their in.
And you know what, they were too close, in the sub they only saw his eyes moving ☠️
@@rsh650 you could try to get a tissue sample of anything that falls off/is loose, but yeah the laser's pretty attention grabbing.
@ixo-digital I like your other vids cause you have talent, but this is by far the most interesting and unsettling one, subtlety is very important in horror, and this absolutely nails it and makes the creature seem plausible. I'd love to see more slower paced works like this one
@@rsh650i think the idea was to take a tissue sample, but have it be so shallow that it won't make a visible cut in the skin. no bleeding, just the top few layers of cells or so. like what happens when you scratch a place on your skin, that's you removing skin without breaking it.
maybe the humans should have woken up several hours earlier?
"Hey, are those teeth?"

While I’m not a primordial leviathan of the depths, I would find someone shining a light in my eyes and blowing out my eardrums with sonar pings while I was trying to sleep pretty provocational.
Absolutely. I'd be extremely pissed if somebody broke into my house to conduct an examination on me in the middle of the night.

Clean his teeth every day^^
Lol, its smiling toothy mouth reminds me Mouth of sauron from LOTRO
Love how slowly it moves. Trully scary
Thank you!
It only looks like it's slow because of how gigantic it is
Big bro can afford to take all the time he wants. Who’s gonna rush him?
Turns it more real
The scale is massive, so as slow as it looks, its mouth travels through the water at 200km/h... and that doesn't matter either, apparently the creature suck the whole submarine and the water area nearby into his mouth by just inhaling. They simply can't escape at that point.
Love how they were repeatedly told not to do anything that could elicit even the tiniest reaction, then proceeded to shine a beam of light in its eyes
Fuck the light, that sonar is obscenely loud...
Love the detail on the eyes rolling as he wakes up! 🤌
Glad you like it! 🤌
I loved the eye movements as well

"It's woken up!"
It didn't destroy the submarine, it just swallowed it, so I hope everyone is ok.
I'm not sure about that...
Yeah it swallowed it, which means it's gonna get digested, and therefore gets destroyed 🤦
Maybe he woke up and swallowed the submarine i dunt know is the submarine is ok but maybe the mans are ok too
The sub is probably indigestible. It may get passed in a few days.

90% people you see in monster films / horror films... you just can't root for.
I have to pause several times everytime i watch such movies, just to say : "Really? You want to do that? Really?"
Do you eat ants?
@@thezek6322 No, but we do eat something of equal size, May it be caviar, krill or anything the size of an ant. But there are edible ants btw.
@@TheTempest73my question had nothing to do with “is an ant edible?” My question relates to how in nature, you have to eat food that will supplement you as needed. Humans don’t eat ants because they’re not going to give us any of the nutrients or calories we need. A creature as big as Gran Maja wouldn’t see a submarine as food, with those teeth it’s clearly a carnivore and it can identify things as food or not food with those eyes
wow this is.... Speechless
🔥
I really love how slow it moves, it feels authentic for something so large and in deep water.
Is it me or is el gran maja larger than before
Ça fait peur ta vidéo
Elle fait vraiment peur c'est vrai
Faut vraiment que tu fasses attention ça c'est carnivore j'ai déjà vu une attaque
Yeah I think he is larger then before
Always has been.
would not need to have a "bio-electric field" to trap things, with a mouth that large simply opening it would create a fuckin vortex that could drag down a cruise ship
That can happen too!
"Avoid any action that will provoke any response, no matter how slight." -glides strsight fk'n ahead toward it's gaping mouth...
Look at that smile, he's SO happy to see you!
I like this gran maja design! The eyes are slightly pushed away from the center, and the teeth are spread out throughout the mouth instead of most of the teeth being at the center.
"You promise you'll take just a little bite?" The little bite:
“Yo dawg can I get a bite?” “Sure, just one though”
“Ok, big mistake, we’re backing away, if you spare us..we’ll worship you, uhh you want a monument?” -marlin
"Active Sonar, maximum power, override safety procedures, now!"
Active sonar is artificially capped at about 200 decibels. At 212 decibels water flashes into steam, and human bone shatters into powder.
We can easily produce sonar at 300+ decibels with modern technology. We don't bother, because there's no point.
Being eaten by large unknown organisms is just about the best reason to do so.
Just give them a few minutes, and plenty of power and a modern nuclear submarine could probably melt their way through.
Also a single nuclear torpedo could kill this thing easily. People really underestimate how powerful the military is now. We could track this thing across the whole ocean and then kill it from miles away with little difficulty.
Realistically this is like a human bothering to eat a firefly
Having the sonar on near such creatures is probably the dumbest move you can pull. It's not like the sound is lethal enough to kill a diver at close range
It’s just Vibing! Can’t hurt no one :)
*Causally puts on diving gear and abandons ship*
And you will be crushed by thousands of tons of pressure
@@ixo-digital I’ll be fine Trust
Nah I'll live im built different
That is 30,000 meters or bigger! What!
☠️
An ohio class nuclear submarine is 170m. The maja appears to be about 1.2-2.0 km across and probably 5km long
@@cosmictreason2242 I don't think the vehicles in the animation are nearly that big.
The radio chatter also implies that they are drones, so I'd say your scale is way off.
To compound this further, the description adds in a size for the Maja, which is to say 675m long.
That would put El Grand Maja's mouth as being roughly 160m wide and the drones at roughly 23m long. That seems a bit better.
@@moritamikamikara3879 they are manned submarines. Listen to the dialogue
you'd think with all the precautions, research, procedures, intelligence gathering... common sense- you'd think they're wouldn't go floating around its mouth of all places lol

At first thought this is some unseen or unused leviathan class creature for Subnautica😂
It would be crazy to encounter something like this in the game 😁

Deep sea horror will never not be the most chilling horror
It wasn't sleeping...

Wow. I wanna see this go against or a size comparison to the gargantuan leviathan adult. Reminds me of a less long, wider version. By the way, absolutely killing it with the quality of these videos. Keep doing whatever your doing!
It doesnt even need some exotic "bio-electric field" to immobilize a sub. Just opening its mouth would suck that sub in.

No way I be down there with that big scary monster
So stay up there, you'll be👌
I love this kinda stuff.
As terrifying as that would be, realistically I can't imagine a creature that size would be interested in eating such a small meal, just wouldn't be worth the effort.
Whale, meet plankton. 'Nuff said.
@@richardd3367 Whales eat *clouds* of plankton, they don't go out trying to eat an individual speck.
@@Pimploaf_YTP Oh, that's quite true, I just had to stir the pot a little lol. In theory something that size might very well go after a significant sized *group* of people. 😂
@@richardd3367 Whales filter feed though. They don't "target" individual planktons. The El Gran Maja could certainly swallow us if we were in its path, but it seems extremely unlikely that it would actively pursue a person.
I mean if it’s an ambush predator it probably doesn’t take much effort.
Just open mouth and move forward a little bit.
It's so terryfing! Can you make more of El Gran Majà please?👍🙏
Of course, Stay tuned!
I need a whole movie with this monster and with the same vibes of this video, a movie without crazy fights with other huge monsters or anything like that, just a movie with same style of this video
Odd that it has a high body temp compared to the water. Given the massive size of its mouth and extreme body length relative to its overall mass, you'd think it'd be using a significant portion of its body mass as a massive cooling mechanism.
It's water cooled.
I'm not very good at Biology so... yeah 😄
Larger creatures retain heat more than smaller creatures because of a larger volume to surface area ratio.
eyyyy, sea monster animation where the creature actually moves as slowly as it would were it to abide by the laws of physics. I always hated animations that had a cool concept of a big creature, then the animator gets too uppity and makes it do jerks or rapid maneuver shifts that totally obliterate the illusion of the size on display. Big Boiz were never meant to startle or jumpscare with any rapid changes, they are meant to instill dread and terror that moves just as slowly as they do. Well done
Very excellent and magnificent sea monster
You've heard of bad ideas cat.
Now get ready for bad ideas captain.

That submarine was like..This thing is huge.Let’s see how it looks inside👍🙂
While it is indeed terrifying, it is also comforting to realize that monster of this size would probably not even consider us tiny humans as a prey. Like how we always walk past ants on the street.
Ooh I'm in love. I miss Ecco the Dolphin. Now I want more.
Oh man could you imagine this as a movie on imax theatre!! just the detail in image is terifying enough but screen size wise, couldnt do it justice just on a phone or standard computer screen. love this ❤

omg this is amazing??? keep up the amazing work
Just opening its mouth would creat such a massive vacume.
I really love how El Gran Maja here doesn't suddenly snap forward and swallow the sub whole or anything - it's just such a large creature that it doesn't need to. It almost seems like the act of opening its mouth causes enough current to drag the sub in.
This must be what it feels like to be a plankton being hunted by a whale.
Watching those Subnautica guides apparently means vids like this will pop up in my feed periodically.
Turning it to 240p makes it feel a bit more real, gets pretty creepy
"target is waking up"

I think these kind of videos. It's the mystery that fascinates me!
It takes a lot of experience, a stable mind, pressurized submarines and abnormally huge balls to drive that close to something like that while giving a mildly uncomfortable report
The voice acting sounds AI-generated to me. Apologies to the VAs if I’m wrong, though.
Dang it, he bit the sub in half. I told you not to get too close. 🤦😰
with how long I've been on the internet, I should be better at identifying what is an animation and what is real, but my sleep deprived and fever-ridden mind was very excited about this creature last night (I love these types of animals). I was so dissapointed when I looked it up today and realized it isn't real lol

Given that they can talk on the radio underwater, they should have more than enough power to vaporize that thing.
What terrifies me is that this thing is smart as it is an otherworldly being.
And the fact that after it wakes up it just waits knowing that the submarine can't move and just lets the fear sink into the passengers before slowing forward and eating them when it doesn't even have to eat, given it's size/
