    thanks for that video it really helped me because eventhough i play since 2 month now I'm still struggling to match strummingpatterns to mostly every song, but I hope I'm gonna get into that at some point :) do you have any tips how not slip out the strummingpattern while playing so easily?

    • @TenThumbsProductions
      @TenThumbsProductions  Před 8 lety +1

      +InvisibleGirl Yeah, one tip would be take it slow. Every time you play it will improve. Make sure you don't get frusterated and when you fall out of the strum pattern just try to get back in to it without stopping and starting over. Let us know if you have any other questions, and happy strumming!

( ukutabs.com/t/twenty-one-pilots/cant-help-falling-in-love ) Not a tutorial on the song, but WHEN to strum. I can do all down strums just on the chords where shown and singing along it sounds like the song, but it doesn't without the singing. Many Thanks. You rock!

      In Hawaiian yes, but not in American english, that is why word will auto correct an ukulele, to a ukulele. Do you also correct people when they are buying a burrito at Taco Bell and don't roll their Rs? haha.

      @TenThumbsProductions  Před 5 lety

      It is bastardizing, it is evolving. I'm not trying to get you upset, I just respectfully disagree. Germans don't get mad at you when you say "pretzel" Do you say "Italia" or do you say Italy? Did you know that Paris has a silent s? How do you say Florida? Or do you go around correcting everyone saying it is actually "FlorEEda" ? Did you know "Florida" was even a Spanish word? I don't get upset with my latino friends when they pronounce "Michigan" phonetically in English. That is how language works friend. Don't get so worked up and enjoy the Ukulele, however people say it.

      @@TenThumbsProductions You're given plenty of good examples to illustrate your point; I respect that. I reflected on why I got so emotionally charged about it. I think it has to do with living over there for a few years during my enlistment. I talked with a lot of locals at the church I attended who were musicians. They would correct me very politely as to say, "No, it's like this..." But, it felt really good to say things they way they would say them. I guess it seemed more authentic and special. Kind of like when they showed me the right way to throw the "shaka" or the right way to affectionately "kiss" someone on the cheek. When I say the word that way it feels like I am embracing their culture.
      All that being said, I think your message is to not get your feathers ruffled when someone pronounces a word a different way. After reading your text and further consideration, I realize it's not worth getting upset about.

    • @TenThumbsProductions
      @TenThumbsProductions  Před 5 lety +1

      Lookout Piano thank you so much for your reflection and insight. What has happened to the Hawaiian people is very sad, and I imagine that compounds the frustration as well. Thank you again for your story and perspective. For what it is worth I pronounce it the Hawaiian way now 😀 have an awesome day.
