Sir you are Excel Champ! teaching us lot. I am stuck in situations how can we consolidate multiple pivot table into one. Same data source. Like Jan data, feb data, march data etc with running total in 3 separate pivot table. Now i hv to consolidate as one. Reason true running total of each month will be different.

Hi Chandoo, thanks for your wonderful videos, a huge fan. I have an issue regarding slicers. When I use two slicers (departing State and arriving State) for Indian aviation routes data, how can I get just one slicer for a single State (irrespective of departing or arriving) to represent all routes that are connected to that specific State. As I understand using two slicers will enable intersection of data (rather than union of data). It would be a great help if you could solve this for me.
Could you please upload Multiple drop down lists in excel . Ex , when u select county then u should get list of states and when u select state then third drop down list should give list of areas with in a state

You can't. Split the values so you have a two column table, movie & tag and then use slicers. You can automate the split with Power Query or the new TEXTSPLIT() functions in Excel.

I can't remember where I have read this in the past, but on the internet I found this phrase: Disabling the cross-filter behavior of a slicer essentially prevents that slicer from changing selections when other slicers are clicked. This prevents the need for Power Pivot to evaluate the titles in the disabled slicer, thus reducing processing cycles. To disable the cross-filter behavior of a slicer, select Slicer Settings to open the Slicer Settings dialog box. Then simply deselect the Visually Indicate Items with No Data option. Btw: you can easaly harvest a value from a slicer with a pivot table (page field). But recently I found out how to harvast a value in an Excel table. curious?? 😉

Instead of thinking about it as "restart", think of it as "pivot". Try to find data / Excel / automation opportunities in the automotive industry. That should be a lot easier. All the best.
That depends... What if they are a chef / mechanical engineer / construction boss / banker / or anything else? We can't expect everyone to know how to use Excel.

You can't do it. But you can make the color same as whatever background you have.

Good point Bart. I haven't had any issues with "too many slicers" on my dashboards. That said, I am some what conservative with them.

Not directly. If you code the cell color as a column then you can use slicer / report filter.
While scrolling the table, slicer moves upwards. How to make the slicer locked .
You can freeze the rows to do this.
