I've been looking for a solution to this all day. All information available on the web says olive oil AND soy sauce, obviously you've proved there is no need for the soy sauce. Thanks.
ok
Lolllll soy sauce
ok
@@icarusrising355 ok
@@SatisfyHacks ok
I tried this just a few days ago, i set a bowl on each side of my front door. I set the oil bowls out Saturday night and as of Tuesday morning I counted about 40 earwigs in each bowl.
Good! Thanks for wtaching!
If this isn't the darnest thing. I've been having problems the last couple weeks myself with earwings and I come across your video. Such a simple easy non-toxic solution to my annoyances. I really like it! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks

Thank you! I've never been so happy with a video haha the music and quality of this made me happy. Litteraly I am in a better mood now
Thanks for Watching. Subscribe to my channel please. Have a nice day!!
You can also mix water with dish soap and pour it around the base of your house and doorstep. It kills them pretty much a couple seconds after contact.
IT WORKS... I just set out one on my front porch and was surprised when I saw it had several in it very quick. I was surprised, happy and disqusted, all at the same time lol. I added a few tiny drops of honey to the good, expensive olive oil. It's worth every cent🐜Thanks so much
ho drops of honey very good idea!! Thanks
Did this stop them from getting inside
Love that this was truly done for the little one ❤️
Easiest fix I've seen. Will try it.
Wow, that's a lot of expensive olive oil. I'll buy a can of sardines and use the sardine oil and tin ...
I just had one of these f'ing things crawl onto my neck as I'm sitting in my living room at my desk. While on a Zoom meeting at work earlier today one bit my arm. Killed several in my bedroom by the cat's dishes around noon (I have a clean apt and do NOT have food laying around anywhere, the cat vacuums his food in a couple mins). Went to pee last night and while standing there looked around and saw 3 of the things. Every fricking summer they just invade my apartment. My back door needs some weather stripping on it but I doubt that'll really solve much. Gonna try this trap, otherwise I get closer to burning this mother scratcher down every day.
its delicious !
Use canola oil, much cheaper.
To save oil could you fill up with water and then top it off with the oil as the oil will float to the top?
Yes good idea
It works.. thanks a lot ...
Good!!
I tried this and my dogs ate the olive oil
MrsKeny N Hahaha omg samee!
haha
Lol
Put a lid on the trap, with a hole small enough for them to crawl into
Please tell me this works I have them inside my home I was pinched tonight under my blanket on my back. I'm killing them everyday inside my home and it's becoming exhausting for me I was pinched last night on my toe while I was watching tv I seen it running away from my foot...here I am up at 3am because I'm scared to get back in my bed. 😔😭
Omg!!! This is why I’m here too! I was falling asleep when i felt something crawling on my face… it was a nasty earwig! Im definitely having a sleepless night
It's delicious.
Yes lollll
why not pour the olive oil directly into the cups?
It's to make pretty :)
@@SatisfyHacks na forget pretty, just do the business and stop wasting data, this is a 1 minute video, poor the oil lay the trap job done, bloody woman love to drag thing out!
Earwigs need exact measurement to fry themselves. Lol
Lol
@@timbosam you're an idiot since the person in the video is clearly MALE. What a knob you are.
An earwig just today got into our house we're trying this tonight hopefully it works
hello
Did it work?
I heard vegetable/olive oil is the best thing to use to trap these things. So are they attracted to it? and then once they get in, they can't get out?? There seems to be a lot of them this year. Outside my basement door at night, there's tons of them! I'm trying my best but they're getting in somehow. They're crawling up along my house. I'm finding them in my bathrooms, my bedroom, on my living room ceiling... EVERYWHERE! I've been using sticky traps and spraying Windex around, that's helped a bit, but maybe I should try the olive oil - put some outside my doors and around the house.. and maybe in the house??
I hear they love soy sauce and sardine oil too. I'm going to add some to my olive oil.
Thanks
Sardine oil would attract every cat from 10 miles away. Don't do that.
I use old cooking oil and a few drops of soy sauce.
All well and good outside. But, those traps don't work for me inside the house.
Cover most of the bowl with paper. They like coverage/hiding spots.
cool! n How to mummify them and use them as decoration?
And too think i just spent the last hour vacuuming up like 1000 earwigs in my living room...
My God!!!
Im here because we have a major infestation. We tried everything and finally I called an exterminator. He said hes never seen anything like this. We get them every summer but this is by far THE WORST year.
@@kimfarr87 did you ever get rid of them
@@frifri28 yes the exterminator came once and used a ton of bug juice. He asked if we needed him again but they eventually died down. We only ever see them where I live June-Aug. Hot summer months. Gonna try to be proactive as possible next summer. Ive never seen so many before. There were thousands. I even found clusters. It was something out of a horror movie. Even the exterminator told me he had never seen an infestation of earwigs in his life like this.
@@kimfarr87 if you don’t mind me asking what state you are in I’m from Louisiana and it was terrible . Glad you were able to have some relief from them .
So I dont have olive oil and I'm extremely poor so does normal vegetable oil work because I keep finding these in my room and I have found them in my headset twice that being the reason in finally using youtube to look for a fix
@Chance Williams I have seen other trap recipes use canola and veg oil, etc. so I would think you would be fine. Here is one such example I saw but they added soy sauce as well. Not sure if that is completely necessary but this person sure did catch a lot of earwigs! asformeandmyhomestead.com/diy-earwig-trap/
Thanks for watching
My god I'm horrified you found them in your headset 0-0
@@dragonblood800 it's not happened since then but a tip to help get rid of them is a dehumidifier alot of standing air conditioners have them built in and it will help keep out earwigs I've learned so if you got one I'd suggest using it
@@revan3675 thank you for your suggestion! I bought a dehumidifier
you did not add anything, why do you need to measure the oil?
So that means you can fry them in the olive oil and eat them?
arkkkkkkkkk
Can it be cheap olive oil or does it need to be virgin olive oil?
Cheap olive oil its good!
Will this work inside the house also or should I keep it for outside only
I have not tested inside
it should. why wouldnt it. I am gonna try this and if I remember I will repost results
@@thechamfam2328 did it work?
Maybe the earwigs ate him and his family. 🤷🏻♀️ He hasn’t responded yet 😳🥴
You can use any cooking oil. Olive oil is way too expensive to drown bugs in lol.
Now throw it right on the frying pan!
If you would of put traps in the ground even with top of bowl you probably would of caught 500x more. Kinda hard for them to climb up a 90 degree angle.
Good idea
Not my uber-earwigs! They hide in my mailbox during the day. :D
Dude they can get anywhere. They climbed to the top of my smoke stack on my traeger grill, that's an extremely Negative angle and they somehow pulled it off
I don't know, they seem to climb up 90° angles without issue. I've seen many crawling up the walls, though I'm sure you'd catch more if they were level with the ground.
Worth a dollar store olive oil to get these buggers. However have you tried a spent/used cooking oil instead?
not tried
I’ve never seen olive oil that has a brown ring around it. You didn’t use soy sauce?
I think that's just the shaddows
I just used olive oil
How would you dispose of the oil?
ok
Put it on a salad, duh.
@@randys9790 Didn't ask you the question, for you to give a stupid answer.
So how do I wash off the earwigs to release away from my property?
???
Dont release them kill them they're horrible
I HATE those nasty little buggers too. I was just having fun trying to imitate a certain people. :D
Now how do you get rid of the bowl?
I clean it and send it to recovery
@@SatisfyHacksman you are horrible @ answering.. 😅
can we use canola oil or vegetables oil ?
olive oil
Thumper700 wow cool. in which country?
Cheap canola oil works perfect.
Does it need to be a plastic bowl like that or will a ceramic bowl work too?
I dont know!
What's the purpose of measuring the oil? 🤣
I would use the cheapest one.
And I'm just wondering if the dog or cat will get into it.
thanks
i did this and the dogs ate all the oil and I had to clean up the after effects....
HOW DOES THIS EVEN WORK ?!?!
hello
This time I will do it manually with the help of Woodglut designs.
Well alright then.
thanks
This doesn’t work. Save yourself the olive oil and the heartbreak.
ok
If you have dogs you cant leave this around they will drink it
Does it ever attract rodents?
NO! Thanks For Watching!
Stolen video lmao
Hello!
STOP THAT STUPID NOISE
cool! n How to mummify them and use them as decoration?
OMG!!!! ARKKKKK!!! Lol
