GEORG LAUFEY DATING CONFIRMED 🥵🥵🤩🤩
Shoot yo shot George!!! Don’t be funblin this RAHhh

@@sophiesprattforget Taylor Swift, this is the real celebrity couple news I crave
I feel like my boy George has a serious crush lol. Most of the videos are like unique or crazy pieces, then there's the monthly post of laufey being "heavenly"
I don't mean this in an antagonistic way, but it is fully possible to appreciate musical talent without fancying people
But you can appreciate the music AND have a crush on her...

i would've gone too but tickets sold out in 30 mins 😭
i love her vowel shape on "harp." She makes it sound super young and to allow the R sound to swallow her word, yet still makes the word full and present.
yeah kind of falls out of the normal “singing voice” and also on blah blah blah it’s pretty cool imo
i love reading people analyze her vocal technique like this- its cool af
Her accuracy on all those notes during the scat solo is insane. Even really great singers will flub or blur a few notes when they're doing a complex vocal run. But everything is distinct and pitch perfect.
It's accurate because the notes are premeditated. That's the version you'd hear on the record and on her live performances. On the other hand, most scat solos, especially from the earliest eras of jazz, were made out of improvised imitation of instruments such as saxophone. The 'fumbling' or 'blurred notes' that you mentioned are probably imitated microtones produced by the instrument.
Laufey’s the best. One of my favorite music artists now.😊
Same!!!
Best voice I’ve ever heard
Wow! What a beautiful voice and such amazing control and range. Thanks so much George :o

I'd look into bossa nova if you liked this one

As a brazilian, it's always interesting for me seeing people from other countries, especially on the north emisphere, falling in love with bossa nova (u guys remember Tom Jobim with Frank Sinatra, or The Girl from Ipanema right?). It's a shame that even in Brazil bossa nova, or MPB, is not a famous genre anymore. Anyway, she makes it justice. Beautiful playing, singing and super cute. Fly on girl!
I think bossa nova is alive in (Japanese) vgm - young people seem to really like it (not just old people like me). If you look at The Consouls (Australian group) audience which spans a few continents, the fans all really enjoy the bossa tunes eg Galdin Quay, New Wave Bossanova (yes, it's a tautology but the composer is Japanese so we'll forgive him) etc I think for a while people cringed because it became associated with 'elevator music' but the use in vgm has somewhat overcome the stigma!
I recommend her other song too, czcams.com/video/qVudRvCCNF8/video.html
po é literal bossa nova em ingles, mt doa
Oh we will never forget. Not all that many South American performers make a big hit here in the US but we love them regardless. Bebel forever! Down tempo forever!
this song reminds Jobim, which should be ultimate compliment in my opinion for any composer.
I don't know if you get comments like this often, but you have single handedly saved my band's cover performance of this song that I needed to learn in just 8 hours. The chart helped a ton, and I really appreciate you for covering this beautiful song.
that's so clutch LOL
If it’s any help she has released the sheet music now
So it went well? you guys nailed it?
@@macmanmanny3983 We did! At least in my eyes! Super fun too
The singing of an angel. Seamless, classy, and effortless. 👌
It must have been over a year ago now that George posted a video of her singing Sunny Side of The Street and I was hypnotized by Laufey's voice. Now, she is undoubtedly my favorite musician. I love all of her songs, which I can say about no other artist. Her music has also helped me cope with life and unwind after stressful days. Hearing her music has been life-changing for me, and I'm so glad George introduced us to her.
HOW IS HER VOICE SO BEAUTIFUL OMG
Some people are just gifted
acoustic guitar and laufey is like hot chocolate infront of a fireplace, it just brings a different kind of comfort that you can't get anywhere else
Yes it warms up your insides :)
I see he's still not over Laufey 😂😂
Suits me :)
Wow. She has such an angelic and different voice. I love it.
She can go sooo low too! And her control is perfect.
@@vinslungur Yes! I wish I could sing like that.
NICELY DONE! Many technically skilled youtubers can play covers very well but don't write very interesting original songs. That is definitely not the case here. This is a beautifully written bossa nova song with actually interesting lyrics.
Example how simplicity can be beautiful
One of my faves, modern female Sinatra with bossa nova tones, Laufey is a queen

Incredible dude! I got so many chills listening to this! Hugs from Brazil, love you work.
Not only do I love Laufey's voice, I love the variety of articulations in her voice.
I’ve never heard any of laufey’s work, and when she started singing my jaw literally dropped to the floor
Beautiful music performed by the lovely Laufey. 🗣🎼🎵🎶🎸💖
I couldn’t turn it off! Beautiful. Thank you for sharing your gift.
This song reminded me of my love for my father. Things like these slightly remind me of those great days. Thanks George. Thanks Laufey.
You can't hide your crush any longer George
Fabulous. Thanks very much, especially for tab/music. lovely.
Wow! Really good singing and guitar playing! Absolutely killed it! I loved it. God bless you!
Such an underrated musician. She has such a talent and set of skills that she almost make you envious of her.
That is some serious soft jazz. Well done.
What a cool piece! Thanks for playing!
This is so amazing... great voice and guitar playing....
Absolutely heavenly! 💛
That's pure simplicity and pure joy 👍🏻🤘🏻
Sounds like Walt Disney's OSTs from old old times
Beautiful tune, great playing and singing!
Im awestruck. Your voice is incredibly melodious
Laufey just has just a beautiful voice...
Beautiful voice
Sweet delicate little groove - got me hooked, very wholesome to my ears!🥰
wonderful chord shapes and great guitar lesson. Great jazz playing and singing too!
I love her voice as well! 😊🥰
Heavenly indeed ❤
The fact that you transcribed the vocal vamping is just amazing!
Wonderful. I love the way you caress our ears.
This is so... "vibey" if that makes sense. The guitar is so calm, and the singing is just... perfection.
I listen to Laufey every day. I go to bed singing her songs in my mind and wake up still singing her songs in my mind. Very addicting.
this feels like "Put Your Head on My Shoulders," and I honestly think it's awesome. This piece's also pretty good by itself, too. Amazing score transcription!
The whole thing is enchanting, but the scat phrase bar 62 until 65 is my favourite.
What a voice
I heard this for the first time last night when my Spotify playlist ended and played suggested songs, I’m happy I found it as it’s such a beautiful chill song that has that element of jazz vocals that I love and mixes it with pop. Jazz pop is really what the jazz scene needs to make a significant comeback. This song is now my favorite!
Imagine if this popped up in one of Beato's Spotify Top 10 listens. He'd die happy on the spot.
I LOVE HER VOICE IT SOUNDS SO ANGELIC
You are in my special playlist for a trip from São Paulo through countryside till Buzios. Loooovely voice!!!! 🤗😌
That vibrato tho 🤍
Since hearing Laufey for the first time on George's channel I've gathered some musicians and together we made a cover of her song Valentine, which I gifted to my girlfriend on you guessed it... Valentine's day. Hopefully soon I'll upload it here on CZcams! Much love to George, Laufey and this wonderful community
She's writing a whole new repertoire of jazz standards. It's great.
This is bossa nova, not jazz.
@@Loammello2Well you're both half right. Bossa nova is a combination of cool jazz and samba (I definitelly knew this and didn't google the answer. I promise! 😉)
AFAIK samba and jazz are not very popular in Iceland which makes her even rarer.
@@Loammello2 Fool!
Beautiful! Thank-you!
Gosh, I've really loved this from the start!
Laufey continuing her one woman attempt to bring back bossa nova.
I actually discovered laufey through you, so I am really happy for this. Thank youu
honestly i discovered laufey a little over a year ago bc of a cello vid george posted and im so glad she's finally receiving the recognition she's always deserved
This will become a standard. I think I may prefer this stripped-down version to the one with the backing band.
The news says that 97% of Heaven experts agree, but I can't tell what's true anymore.
Even if George is not really in love with her...I can see the appeal. This is so odd and unique in such a good way it's crazy. The voice, everything is perfect. I've identified 0 areas of opportunity in this performance. Crazy.
@laufey 's voice makes me want to sob every time I listen
Instant goosebumps. Nice flat rasp chord declines with that voice. Very valley frenchy sounding
Indeed beautiful.
And I like the music too.
Keeping my favorite ship alive. George and Laufey! Hahaha
This channel introduced me to Laufey with the "On the Sunny Side of the Street" song and I'm always delighted to hear her.
I mean, yeah no question. Valentine live at Harpa concert hall is even more so in my opinion. Just a jaw dropping performance. That’s not to mention her live symphony versions…
