About The Game: Marvel: Ultimate Alliance is an action role-playing video game developed for PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox and Xbox 360 by Raven Software and published by Activision. The game was simultaneously ported to the PlayStation Portable and Wii by Vicarious Visions, and to Microsoft Windows by Beenox. A significantly different Game Boy Advance version was also created, developed by Barking Lizards Technologies. The game was initially released on October 24, 2006 in North America for most platforms, with PlayStation 3 and Wii ports following shortly thereafter, as well as international releases. Japan was only able to see a Wii and PS3 release. It was released on July 26, 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows, and on July 28, 2016 on Xbox One by Zoë Mode.

Well canonically Strange was off chilling on the sidelines because he felt that it was a fight with no clear right or wrong answer and was praying.
my biggest gripe is that jirard complained about that, but DIDNT complain about hulk being present. wasn't he on the moon at the time, and wasn't that descision one of the main events that led up to civil war?
I I remember he was off on another planet with the world war hulk event. and the reason that marvel didn't have the really heavy hitters around was because they were heavy hitters and they would tip the scale too much in any one fight or the war
I feel like him complaining about Doctor strange being gone is justified becuase of the fact that hulk was there, he just wants to be able to play as the characters so when hulk was fair game despite being gone but doctor strange wasn't, that I think was what bugged him.
They put hulk in there because it’s hulk. Simple as that. He is way too popular for him to not be in the game.
Hulks not part of the story like Thor and Jean grey. They're unlockables
This storyline is based on both Brain Michael Bendis' Secret War and obviously Mark Millar's Civil War.

The levels in Ultimate Alliance 1 were in my opinion much better. Going to hell, fighting in an arcade, seeing Namor, and the darker atmosphere always had me going back to the first one. More costumes, and in my opinion better DLC. I don't think increased graphics, better dialogue, and less glitches make the game better than the first, but that's just my opinion.
Pandora i think this game is a better game but i love the first one a bit more cauae of nostalgia
I agree that I "liked" the first game better, essentially due to alot more fan service (costumes, character sim missions, roster, stages, more powers, combo display). But I also have to admit that MUA2 does have some very key upgrades in the boosts, the boss battles feel better, the AI constantly using their powers and the passive skill system.
All in all, I still like XML2 better. Hopefully it will come be re-released for current-gen as well.

I hate that modern Marvel media always apes off the MCU, I miss when Marvel was proud of their comic lore.
2:45 people do know comics exist right? It's just when ever the topic of stories come up people always go straight for the movies when the comics have had more interesting stories for years, hell the Batman Arkham games were based off a mini series written in the late 80s and were well acclaimed for their atmosphere and story. Point being comics are really underrated.
Unfortunately it's just accessibility . People can get into a game or a movie a lot easier than a series of comic books with decades of history within various issues, volumes and tie-ins. It's a lot to keep up with and a general audience prefers the short and sweet route.

I understand that, just his response that theirs no movies to base a game off of is stupid considering there are decades worth of comics to pull from. Heck they could even just base the games around the cartoons as those have done really well or at least the DC ones.

Ok so I just watched The Completionist's documentary. If you haven't watched it then go do it right now, it's worth it. Now I just want to say that this guy is super underrated and deserves more credit. He's been through a lot, and I mean it when I say a lot. Jirard, keep doing what your doing man, cause you're doing a great job. Even when shit gets real bad, just know that you have at least one fan, right here, that'll back you up.

Eh, he's not perfect. He lets his bias of sequels requiring lots of change get in the way sometimes with games with otherwise solid gameplay.

Such an underrated game. I didn't play the first, got this for xbox360 as a gift with low expectations and was blown away by the content. Can't believe DC didn't run with this idea for this generation.
I'm sure nobody will see this but I just want to thank you Jirard. Your work ethic and attitude have always been an inspiration to me, and you deserve all the credit in the world for what you do. You're an amazing gamer, but an even better person.

Penance is actually really important to the civil war story as he was the leader of the new warriors and blamed himself for the detonation and had that suit designed so that he would always feel pain whenever he wore it to remind himself of all the people who died because of the incident

God, I remember playing around with Moon Knight in the original game. Ultimate Alliance needs a remaster with better graphics, slightly enhanced gameplay (Not asking for much, just give me a tweak or two in some of the areas - Increase inventory space or at least have a checklist in game to show what you obtained) and maybe a change to the Dialogue tree?

Azoz Azoz I played the second one ages ago and the first but I can still remember the fight scene on the rooftops in the second one but none from the first. Because of this I have got the second one again and have loved it.

Right,Im sure the utter downsizing of content(be it hero variety,costumes or skill choices...which were outright eliminated)hit just the right spot for fans of the series.
I mean,why should I have to waste my time deciding between alternative character builds when I could be mashing that light attack button instead.
Dont even get me started on the whole "polish" bit.
The game glitching or outright locking up is still a common occurence,2 of the DLC characters still outright and 100% hardcrash the game.
Guess they fixed those problems for the rerelease but they certainly didnt give a flying fuck for all those years the last gen versions were out.

The one thing I loved about this game is that the bosses (depending on their size) would actually physically react to when you punch them. Hell Hulk could even tackle them and it’d do the whole animation. Rather than a boss that literally no selled every punch you gave

2 things I wish we had in this game was more playable characters options. Such as Spiderwomen, A-Bomb, War Machine Havok, and Ghost Rider. Maybe also more of the villains if you picked pro registration.
The 2nd thing is that I wished there were more pro-registration and anti-registration levels
Other than that, this is probably one of the best marvel games in history.

Modern Marvel wastes too much time and exposure pushing the mcu in other media. Purely because they are run by a faceless corporation who only care about shaking every last penny out of their money making Formula.
It's not like the comics IE the source material, existed for at least 50 years prior to the movies, creating a fanbase that kept them within pop culture for decades and have enjoyed a far longer ongoing lifespan than the movies ever will.
Nope, they just focus on those short term receipts because the House of Mouse demands money...
