  • Repair includes all snubber capacitors, motor start/ run capacitors, and main filter capacitor replacement on TEAC model A4010S.
Thanks to the kind help from the people at tapeheads.net and audiokarma.org
Judging by the date codes on the motor capacitors this one would have been made in late 1968 or early 1969.

Thank you for the information! I didn’t know if the exploding capacitors were caused by other shorts or not. Time for a recap!

Which Suzuky capacitors were the hardest to replace due to location?
Great video, very interesting and informative.

Not sure, the hard part for me was the motor-run caps. Just had to just work slow and take my time with all of it and just not be rushed. Would definitely recommend doing them all if you are getting in there. Also would recommend checking out some other videos regarding lubricating the moving parts while you have it opened.

Hi, where did you get your capacitors? The 4010S has a lot of 0.1uF 400 V caps that are not available ANYWHERE!

look for higher voltage rated caps. These are 850v. Mouser had them at the time. Here are the detail #s.

Thanks! Looking about on the forums I noticed the dangers of the Suzuki oil caps. Just to be safe, I also replaced the 2-prong power socket with a 3-prong and wired the ground to the chassis.
