READ MY REVIEW: thatfitfriend.com/flux-adapt-...
The Flux Adapt Runner has been a highly requested running shoe on my channel and that's because of my Flux Adapt shoe reviews.
This shoe is designed to be built wider and to replicate a more "minimalist" vibe when training. This shoe features a textured insole and a 0mm heel-to-toe drop, for example.
In my Flux Adapt Runner review, I'm going to cover everything you should know before buying this shoe.

Overall, I've enjoyed the Flux Adapt Runner and it's been a shoe that took time to grow on me.
At first, I wasn't super stoked on the upper of this shoe, but I think for casual running, walking, and daily wear contexts it can make a lot of sense.
Would this be my go-to running shoe for sprints and marathons? No, however, I think it does deliver some niche features for certain runners.

Wide toe box, non minimalist shoes are way too rare. I generally don’t get why they aren’t more common since it just overall better regardless of activity
For sure. I wish there were a good resource to compare wide toe zero drop cushioned/more rigid shoes.
1) thank you for how clear and organized this review was!
2) you are WORKING the hot pink
Glad it helped! This is prob the first and only pair of hot pink shoes I review, LOL
Probably the best review I’ve ever seen thanks man
Ay, makes my day hearing that! Thank you, friend
Much respect for all the help 💜
You're welcome!
Super helpful, thank you!
Glad it helped!
Thanks for the informative video!!
Welcome!
Man, Jake, you’re covering all the shoes I was considering as my next pair. Well done!
Ayyy! Happy to be of service. Good timing 👌
@@thatfitfriendHfs 2 review next?☠️🥳? It’s going to be one of those two
So did you get a pair of??
@@jbp48080 HFS2? Yes. Review is ready to go live and should be up by end of weekend if not today
Of the flux I was curious if bought a pair
Just as an FYI for anyone wanting to purchase these right now: The Lavender colorway is on sale 30% off, since they're being phased out.
They don't show that they are 30%off on the store-page; but are instead marked as "Final Sale"; which, as far as I know anything marked as such will automatically apply the 30% discount after adding them to the cart/going to checkout.
The sale brought them down to $98excl tax; which is definitely worth it for what imo is a very great colorway.
Thank you for the information 🙏🏽
Thank you for checking it out!
Let me guess Made in china?
Thank you - I was on the fence and stepped off
Happy I found this review. Just saved me $140. Still looking for something to replace my Altra Riveras. Tired of the upper blowing out before I can get 100 miles on them.
That's what I do here!
Check out some of the Topo Athletic models. Most of their shoes have been pretty strong thus far for my needs!
I really wanted the Flux CrossFit shoe to be good. If they can clean it up, that will be my go to zero drop CrossFit show.
I feel this in my soul. Shoe needs some work especially with its upper
Check out the new flux adapt trail runners its literally everything you could want in a show plus it even has ground technology EARTHLINK which is crazy .. just got mines and its replaced all my other shoes feel great and amazing no matter what your doing seems like they took advise of customers on this shoe and made a huge upgrade.
I’m looking for a shoe with a wider toe box that has good support. I had back surgery a few years ago and my doctor told me to get shoes with good support. I’ve been wearing a pair of On shoes and they’re very comfy, just looking for something with more toe space. Would these Flux shoes provide good support? Thanks!
I'd look Altra instead of these. These won't have the midfoot support, imo!
so hard to find a good shoe... luv your vids. i have feet but LOVE wide toe box and zero (or minimal) drop. Cant wear brooks and nike after altra toe box. The Altra Timp4 by far favorite most comy daily driver but pricey and less durable then the Lone Peak. I like the timp4 29mm stack. Looking at other brands but dont know...
Which other models are you considering atm?
I’ve exclusively run in Altras for the last 8 years or so. Are these worth looking into, or should I stick with the tried and true? I loved my Escalantes and I have a pair of Torins now but it’s an older model that has the oddly uncomfortable tongue. I heard they fixed that with the newer ones so maybe I just go that route.
I'd stay tried and true, tbh! These will feel "meh" compared to your Altras for running/walking
@@thatfitfriend Thanks for the reply and good to know! I'll probably stick with Torins for my longer runs and Escalante Racers for speed work then, but I may buy some of these anyway for just casual wear. One thing that you can't really argue about is that these look way cleaner. Altra sure makes some interesting decisions on the colors they choose to come out with.
@@AL_1547 facts. Altra’s colroways are always super hit or miss…like who is making these calls? 😂
@@AL_1547that’s my exact issue, I love the feel of altra toe box but they look hideous, why can’t shoes that are good for our feet also be stylish? 😭🤦♂️
Jake, great review, just tried order a pair via the link and the tf2 discount code is invalid. Do you have another?
Thank you - tbh with you, I have no idea what Flux is doing atm. Seems like they're doing a major re-org at the company and I don't even know if they're still supporting affiliate codes for athletes and folks like me who bought the shoes for review
@@thatfitfriend Roger that, wanted to support you and save a few dollars:) thanks for the reply!
My question is how is the fit if a person has a high instep/arch?
Yep, should be fine!
Jake! I need your help. Trying to find a good shoe that has natural foot shape (Altra, flux, xero) and I really want to be able to run a couple of miles in them and I also want a sturdy shoe with an upper that supports lateral movement or casual sports with friends. Ideally I want this shoe to be my all around shoe for trips. I can exercise in them, shoot some hoops, and walk in the airport without looking at a barefoot crazy.
I’ve looked at these and some altras like the Torin 7 but I can’t decide what to do. Any advice?
Look into the Topo Athletic ST-5! I just reviewed them and they should be decent for these asks!
Not convinced these are actually zero drop. On their website you can see that the measurement starts at the heel and goes to where the toe spring starts. It should be to the end of the toe. Topo does this too and it pisses me off.
Base of the forefoot and heel are typically what’s measured for drop, not end of toe. It’s a weird concept, though, and I feel like there should be a third toe spring measurement included in shoes like this
I like my Altras, what’s the difference?
Different midsole feels and this model's midfoot/arch feel a lot diff.
I'd stick with your Altra if you like em - not missing too much here
is this okay for heel pain or heel spur?
Tough to say definitively because your direct injury will be individual along with how you'll internalize a shoe's fit etc. Should be plush enough, but again, impossible to say for sure on stuff like this.
Where are this shoes made?
Prob Asia
Is it good for flat feet?
It can work!
My old man still walking a lot to and from work/home. I need a good shoe for him. Help
Looking into running shoes specifically? What's he currently wearing?
@@thatfitfriend hes wearing old broken adidas and he bought them because they were on sale lol 😆 I found Flux, are they good?
@@DegenCash they’re okay - I think you’d be better off copping a good pair of Altras, HOKAs, or Brooks if you want to get him some comfy runners for walking. IMO, hitting up a running store would be a good/safe call
@@thatfitfriend thx 🙏
@@thatfitfriend hey man sorry for coming back to bother you.., I just don’t trust retail OR online reviews lol 😆 My pops walks about 4 miles a days in city streets. Best top 2 recommendations for comfort and durability?
Does it have arch support?
Not that much, would pass on em if you need more
Thanks, that’s unfortunate. I really do need arch support.
how is for sprinting?
Not good, too heavy and upper is too lax imo
@@thatfitfriend do you know any wide toe box brands that are good for sprints?
@@Yella451 topo athletic could be a decent option to explore! They make some wide/lightweight models
@@thatfitfriend thank you!
I bought the flux runners and that insole is just odd to me. But it’s also such a nice looking shoes. I returned mine. But every time I see a video on I debate getting it again. They really are nice looking. But the insole is odd
That’s bumpy feel is def unique. It takes some time to get used to
I’m a waitress, can these work for long hours walking? Thanks
They should work. Some of my friends love these for all-day casual wear.
that's a $30 shoe lets be real. It's basically the same thing as the sketchers they sell at costco for $25 except it's got a wider last in the toe and minimal drop. $150 for a shoe like this is really insane.
I mostly agree, their trainer is the same, and there are a lot of brands over charging these days.
Hmmm... not for me, but my wife might like them? (She likes a wider toe box.)
Def an acquired taste with these!
@@thatfitfriendThey should not send you a horrendous color to test. I would be embarrassed to test this. The color makes the shoe look bigger like clown shoes 😮 ty for the review
@@jcap8391 I bought them and I wanted it, *gasp*.
I never go with weird colors so I was down with the pink 😂 it ain’t that deep!
Ty for checking it out 🤝
Would you size these the same as nano 2.0 ?
@@gregsmith2001 I would! I wear 10 in both with no issues!
Altra all-day
Great review, not my favorite shoe by far.
Feeel that. Thank you!
