I know LDO sponsored your video… but the fact that they’re gearing up to make a kit for a Positron excites me so much. I’ve wanted to make one for a while now, and a pre-set kit with a bit of support if I needed it sounds phenomenal. I’m looking forward to seeing what they come out with.
Wow didn't know that, it'd amazing, I have to move in a few months to another country and it'd be a great way to bring a 3d printer with me
Yeah, supporting that project and sponsoring this video. It appears they really understand the market.
I'm glad that Positron is featured here. But you are absolutely correct, it is a hassle to source everything. In my case even harder, when you do it from Germany.
LDO are doing a such a great job there.
Ive been wanting to see more about the Positron ever since I came across it a few months ago. Very interesting concept, i really hope to continue seeing it evolve.
The image from your hike at 1.41 is just over 3 km from where I sit. I'm glad you were able to visit Boulder as the flatness of Denver is not exciting.
The Flatirons were a beautiful hike and Boulder is also a really chill city!
@@CNCKitchen You've inspired me. I think I'm going to go for a hike to the same spot today as long as we don't have thunderstorms.
A different view in a live moving camera is available as "Boulder Pearl Street Live" from the channel "Boulder Flatiron Cam". Cheers!
Man I can't wait until a full positron kit available, that thing is so interesting.
I wonder what they'd price it at.
Great to see some more Positron stuff, hope the kits come out soon!
Chocolate printer? Now that's true CNC kitchen!
Kralyn is an absolute genius. Glad he found sponsors for Positron
Yeah. And LDO is positioning itself nicely in the niche of kit printer middleman for open-source printers.
@@Sembazuru I would also add the Orbiter to that mix - I feel like they are trying to say "we can make your design into a product", which is a win both for them (profit, and they also don't have to invent on their own) and for the designer (who gets to have their design manufactured without much of the hassle that would come with doing that alone on a small scale). It's quite smart to be honest.
Hey hey, my top 3 favorite things all in one video, hiking, spaceflight, and 3d printing!
That PhotoCast idea is genious! It's one of these things that only once someone comes up with it, new possibilities come to mind as obvious as day.
Love the look of the cocoa press! Hopefully it makes it way to Europe eventually can't wait to try it!
Essentium also makes a dual-core 25% carbon fiber filament called HTN-CF25. We use it a lot at work, it's insanely strong and rigid and prints as easily as PLA as long as you keep it dry. It'll be interesting to see if the new Phaetus filament is as good.
Stefan, thanks so much for putting this together. This was a fantastic video to watch and ensures those of us who couldn’t attend aren’t missing a thing. Awesome job as usual!!!
RMRRF was an awesome experience to be a part of. A conversation at the Wuxn booth could've been the icing on the cake. Here's hoping for a 'take two' next time!
Wouldn't an upside down Voron at high accelerations benefit from having the moving mass lower to the ground? It would potentially shake less and therefore allow for faster printing, right?
There are so many awesome ideas out in the world, I absolutely am in love with this community ever since. Thank you for your coverage!
This is easily my favorite content that you post. I love getting to see where the 3d printing technology is going! Please continue to do these if you can :D
You drove one of the nicest roads in colorado for sure! The whole 72/boulder highway loop is just amazing.
The Polar printer definitely interests me the most. That they did it in Klipper is very encouraging for me.
Love the coverage. It highlights some very interesting ideas.
Such a great show! Great overview of some of the highlights and super glad you got to experience the rockies while you were here!
That was cool, had no idea some of this stuff was out there, so many thanks for covering this convention. It's provided alot of food for thought on future projects.
Danke für die super Zusammenfassung und Auswahl und dann auch noch so zeitnah!
the positron is so cool! you can just take it with you and prototype on the go!
So glad to hear an update about Positron! Haven't heard much since their very first videos. Glad that such an innovative design is getting industry support!
Awesome! Thank you for the video!
Love the travel montage! Something different, unique and cool!
waou excellent, war gut..wiel spass , danke fur alles
Really cool! I just started printing this year. If I had know about this festival I would have gone. I am going to have to look up RepRap now. Thanks for sharing.
Great complete review at RepRap Festival Thanks for sharing
Thank you for this report
I want a positron just because!!!
Glad you got to see some of the countryside here in America.
This was wonderful! Thanks for covering the event, I had no idea about some of these projects!
I hope you can come visit ERRF later this year, Last year had some really neat stuff!
Machinarium chocolate robots!!! ❤❤❤
Thanks for the video! More stuff like this please. I loved it. Hopefully you won't have to fly as far for the next convention.
Please review more of the positron project! Can't wait for the kit to come out
Stefan I enjoyed meeting you at RMRRF! It was an amazing chance to see so many 3D printing enthusiasts under one roof. I ordered a Voron R2 kit the moment I got home and my wife nearly ordered the chocolate printer. 😊 Thanks for your coverage of the show-you found some cool projects that I missed!
That's funny, the HeroMe popped up in my search results just before watching this vid. I think you must be giving it a bump.
I've been using a 3rd-generation Hero Me on my ender 3 for quite some time. The part cooling is absurdly better than the stock ender 3 cooler. If I care about surface finish, I can print up to ~60° overhangs. If I don't care or am willing to do some sanding, it can go all the way to 75°. Bridges work great, too.
Also the ability to add/change something on the toolhead by just printing another piece of a standardised set is amazing.
@@Fifsson_ wow that sounds awesome
With careful orientation of one of the two coloe co-extrusion filaments on the polar printer, you could get a vase mode print that is one color on the outside and another color on the inside.
Great video as always, I really liked the Positron and Phaetus Filaments!
Nice info, thanks for sharing it :)
Found you channel today. I enjoy 3D printing as well.
That belted voron. That's genius. I need one.
Ah yes the obligatory german hike in the mountains. That´s what i like to hear from a fellow german!
It was nice to see you at the festival, even though all I able to do was say how I appreciated you channel. Watching this video was better than actually going to the festival as far as finding out new information.
That was a very good landing if you see how high the crosswords were! Crabbing like a pro👍
Maybe a bit off topic here. I had this crazy idea to increase print strength. The weakest part of a print is the layer adhesion. What if we design a solid part. Print the first layers as normal. The perimeters are printed as normal. Now for the fill we skips about half of the layer lines in a tooth like pattern. The next layer is printed at double layer height filling the open space and sticking one layer height above the previous one. The principle is repeated for the full print. Hypotheses: The layers stick to both the bottom layer and half of the sides of the previous layer and as a result the print will be stronger. Can you test this or is this already tested?
you gonna make videos about positron soon? i like find this project very interesting.
Another project that i found on youtube some time ago and i didin't see more content about i'ts mulbot, have seen this in one video of you, and found very interesting.
I live in Loveland and didn't know this festival was going on! Totally will need to go next year!
Oooh! I missed that construction filament!!! Definitely interested in seeing a review!
ME AND MY FRIEND ARE THE GUYS AT 6 SECONDS!!!!
The positron is simply the most promising 3D printer design since the original desktop printer
The best job! :)
Polar printers are so cool. I think there's a lot of potential there
It was very nice to meet you there! One of the things I found most interesting there was the work being done by Utility Research Lab. I also noticed quite a few printers with belt driven Z axis. So many Voron printers! The Voron printer in the Fabreeko booth with the EDM cut linear bearing rails was insane.
Very Good Video
I'm definitely super glad to see that the advancements haven't stopped behind the 3d printing scenes! The year of the Bambu lab was a little discouraging for me. But the voron builds are super inspiring! Definitely what I want to do next!
I made that part cooling hotend :D. I love it
It was great seeing you there and glad you could come out. It's funny, the table I was at was in many of your shots but somehow you got it every time myself and booth mates weren't there. Though I did see my back once :P
i want to see more coverage on the roto casting project it was there last year and probably the most interesting project
That 24x24” printer got my attention!
The at home rotomolding machine is such a cool idea! It would be cool to see it automated at some point.
That Voron printer at 6:47 would definitely be my dream build haha, love the form factor and colors!
Man I kinda though this was going to be a little event and skipped to go racing instead but it looks like I should have made time, especially if I knew you were coming all this way. Glad you got to see the Rockies and hike a little too while you were here, even if it wasn't the best season for it.
I have a suggestion for a new Video.
Does recycled filament has the same advantage than annealed PLA?
Can you test filament from Recycling Fabrik and compare it to regular PLA?
Your ford was just being a ford. It's in its personality. It just wanted to take a break 💔

@@HotboiEngineeringbeat me to it 😂
You’re lucky the doors in the wheels didn’t fall off
FORD is all good as you start... It's coming back that's the issue. Driver Returns On Foot 😂
Love you
The pritner with the rotating bed is printing the taco bell bag!
I saw you there thought that looks like the guy from CNC kitchen.... IT WAS!!! I wish I could have just said thanks for all your content!!! Some of this stuff I must have missed or maybe it was there on Sunday? There were a few really good ideas there!!
LOL! good job FORD!
Thanks for this interesting video on new an upcoming 3D printing tech. If I may suggest subjects for future videos, I'd like to see a review of Prusa PC with carbon fiber, and how it compares to PC Blend, and Polymax PC. Additionally I'd be very curious to see how the print settings, which produced the transparent and tough parts, compare to annealing in salt.
Loveland lol. Would love to hav gone but ill hopefully be going to MRRF
please show more! I'm disappointed to not have known about this show as I'm 60 miles away and would like to have attended. Looking forward to more videos about the meetup. I thought of NASA technology being used to transfer power and signals via rotating interfaces to antennae etc. on satellites when I saw the polar rotating printer.
The photon cast looks like an amazing machine for small businesses. How many cycles do you think a single printed mold can withstand before deformation?
did you see the creepy denver airport horse?
we had a van break down in a town nearby and had to uber there to get a rental and get to a hotel
lots of interesting stuff in the area, we were planning on driving through, but the long weekend of waiting for repairs was a lot of fun.
I DIED when he said that his Found On the Road Dead (FORD) broke down!
LOOK ITS ME AT 0:06
You were so close to my home! Iowa
Thank you Stephan, for another great video. 👏
The things I found most interesting from this one: The Cocoa Press and the Photon Cast. Very cool to make the effort to showcase the individual companies and their projects. I've seen similar videos that leave such details out.
* Unrelated, do you ride motorcycles & know who Valentino Rossi is? 🏍
You could pass for his doppelgänger or long lost brother. He's pretty chill and funny too. 😊
PRUSA JUST UPLOADED THE INPUTSHAPING FIRMWARE!!!!!!!!
I have a like because I saw myself in your video!! I thought I recognized you, but I didn't want to be weird. I love your content!
Mach weiter so! Deine Videos sind perfekt👍
The Photoncast has my interest. At work, we use a large amount of one off insulators for high voltage and high current buss bars. Being able to coat them like this with a, insulating resin would greatly decrease our production time on prototypes.
Also, the Co Extrusion filament has always caught my attention. The ability to add such a strong material to a print would take most prints from testing ideas and low strength cover plates to more structural parts, again for low volume prototype equipment. The only problem so far is that every retraction requires a filament cut to sheer the core material.
Drove up from New Mexico, super fun show, lots of mind blowing stuff, but the tpu voron actually broke my head, I didn’t know imput shaping has come that far
8:33 if im not wrong, marlin supports rotary axis by default as well
love that the cocoa printer uses a 0.8mm nozzle standard :)
Great vid ! Are you gonna cover that Voron-like printer next to the Polar CoreXZ ? It looks insane with its 8 XY motors but I can't find anything about it
Is there a place you post places you will be? None of the big festivals are in my area but if I know in advance I can plan a trip.
I was wondering, can you investigate if coating each layer with CA glue improves the layer adhesion?
The paper bag 3D print has me weak lol
"My brand new Ford broke down" shit ain't that the truth.
I didn't catch if it was available yet, but is the upside down printer part list available? Also what's the point of upside down printing is it better?
Great overview of the event, thanks! Honestly, I would have liked to see even more detail. It seems like a long way to go for only a 15 minute video... Maybe you could release in-depth videos for each of these 10 projects, with interviews, your thoughts, etc
Just found your channel. Awesome video. But how did you find out about the festival? I live in Denver and this is the first I've heard of it. Clearly I'm not following the industry correctly.
I've always found polar printers interesting even though there arent many on the market
is there a date for next year? just down the road from Montana… 😊 i’d have been there if i’d know about it
That Ford got stage fright when a German sat behind it's wheel.
"I get the feeling they did it mainly for the challenge"
You definitely wouldn't be wrong there 😅
6:46 do i see there a voron micron kit? :D
