I’d say this stance is for more experienced fighters. The reason is because whilst you’re not vulnerable from front shots you are vulnerable to the side (Liver, Ribs, and Side of the face)
Agree Bro, sparred one of our gold medalist and i can caught him with uppercut even in high guard. This video is not for amateurs because it takes time to really master it.
It’s actually the opposite. Beginner vs beginner aren’t going to be throwing precise body shots (liver). Might slip a hook through but this is good for beginners cause it’s teaching you to protect what most people go for, the face. Especially in boxing, if we were talking Muay Thai dif story
Idk I always found dead centers more discombobulating than side. I can eat rib shots and side of the face more than I can take a front on but that’s just me.
I've been training for over 35yrs Your videos are really informative & teach important fundamentals in what is really the blink of an eye. I've never seen better content in shorts. Thank you gentlemen. You earned a sub.🤜🤛👊👍
nice work guys for uppercuts you can parry yes, you can also turn so your elbow inward so it blocks the shot from getting inbetween , you can also make an X with your arms quickly and then go back to the high guard
I need help beating this guard , this one guy in kickboxing uses it a lot and he’s taller and has really good distance management and reactions . I still manage to close the distance but he successfully shells quite a lot of the time and I don’t want to go excessively hard in sparring just to land my punches I’d rather outwork my partner with skill . So if you have any suggestions for a young southpaw lmk
Relax? I thought I should tense up my guards because I thought the punches would go through if I didn't.. That's an eye opener. This is why people should never cease to learn. Parries are new to me, I want to learn about parries now. Absolute newbie btw.

That is literally my problem, i am super stiff when i guard and i feel like i waste so much energy just by doing that. However, how can i not be stiff if i need to guard liver+face and keep my hands ready so my own fist doesn’t hit me in the face when they punch and i block…? Hahaha
And that’s exactly how Sean O’Malley knocked out Eddie whineland by faking an uppercut and throwing and overhand, pieria caught Strickland with the same shit, parrying the uppercuts can be good but leaves you open to biting their bait

Awesome, bro. You have a talent for elaborating and teaching.
You almost mexican
I think you should tuck your elbows close together , but leave space to see .
@@perfected9535eh it depends. Too close together and you leave your sides wide open for body shots
It’s all different for different bodies
But not for boxing

I concur! Although not been training as long ;D
Nice straight forward tuition

Doing an x is very creed movie esq
@@Thoseboxingbros I never saw the movie does he use it
I love you friend straight up NPC shadow boxing in the background made my night
Canelo best example
I love these guys!!
only thing i can think of to combat the high guard is blinding the opponent together with a combination of diverting attacks and feints to attack body
Simple and effective
Nice going. I didnt know about parrying them.
Great video
Or you could do ur work early have it built within your stance blading your stance more is the real answer and it provide less uppercut opportunities
Excellent fellas
1-2-3-6 I find so many openings with that uppercut at the end 😊
Perfect song for this

Thanks alot mann
Love it
Very nice; Another thing I do when it's specifically an uppercut coming is to slightly rotate so it lands on my forearm
Keep up the great work.👍👍👍🇨🇦
This is great
Video sound was at the perfect volume
waw thank you really
Thank you
feint upper + hook gn
good one!
Nice bro 👍👊
What are those black gloves ?
That's great cuz the uppercut purpose is to bang bang your opponent in blind guard.
The background song name please ?????
He hits my gloves and my gloves hit my face.
then parry instead of blocking
Thanks this really helped

To square on, that’s why!!
You remind me of Harry Styles
But What about a very very powerfull uppercut with Maximum power ? You cant just parry Them away? What to do then ? Slip ?
If u can pull or move back I guess, if you see it coming ofc…

My problem is over reacting to a punch I gotta work on that
Yeah it’s weird trying to find the middle ground of
Stop panicking I’m safe in my guard vs stop hiding behind the guard and throw something

What if my opponent uses tsubame gaeshi
Until that cross hits you in the chest then the left hook from hell.
Can I become a mma fighter??? (I've a very big nose)
but what do i do if prime mike tyson throws an upper cut at me

Being lose is being ready. If you’re already stiff you won’t be able to quickly explode

I use my elbow
I'm more of a grappler so I don't know y I get these vids though I do accel in every field 🗿🗿
Telling a novice to high guard parry is TERRIBLE ADVICE!!! Footwork should always be applied.
WHY YOU ASK? I WOULD FAKE OUT YOUR PARRY AND GIVE A STRIGHT HAND DOWN THE PIPE
It’s a 30 second video bruh
This is completely normal boxing though so whats the issue

An uppercut, with a good amount of power? I’m pretty sure you it will brake your defence
how can i land an uppercut on someone that parries well and uses head movement like in the video?
Timing
Start with another punch like the jab or left hook
You catch them with it as a trap. You don't uppercut them alone, you make them duck a hook into the path of your uppercut.
Every move is denger
I am even ready to pay you guys if you start a course or something . Come on !!
Just lean back
Or just step back
Don’t parry if your kick boxing tho you’ll get your head kicked off your shoulders
Think our name gives away what our videos are aimed at 😅
No one ever thought that's what a high guard is.
i’ve seen a lot of beginners do that tbh
Yea like someone will slow down time to be able to not only see the uppercut coming, but parry it. Dolt.
