Another thing that could be done for streamers with a dual-pc setup is to actually buy two of the GoXLR (original or mini or mixed). Have the line-ins and line-outs feed into each other, and use either one respectively into each PC. This way you just have ultimate control of all sound within both PCs.
For Example:
Gaming PC - Game Audio // Line In (streaming pc) // Voice Chat // Mic Volume
Streaming PC - Desktop Audio // Music // Alerts // Mic Volume (for secondary mic)
The mini could actually be an upgrade path for those who already own the original GoXLR, and want even more control without making things too difficult. I think that's the beauty behind these products.
I really like that you answer questions, very helpful! Great video as always
Just wanted to say man, congrats i really like your work!
Nice video! I liked the quality and how put together it is. You also answered all of my questions to do with the Mini. Thx!
Faaaantastic video. Exactly what I needed. Liked. QUick question. Did you try this with the SM7b WITH Cloudlifter and then into the GoXLR/GoXLR Mini? Do you get a better, same, or degraded sound with the Cloudlifter? Thanks.
Thank you! Both are on Black Friday sale right now and I'm trying to decide which one to buy as well as upgrading to the Shure XLR which is also on sale and upgrading from my Blue Yeti. Cheers!
Wow you nailed this video and included all the community in there too you got a sub
Thanks so much for this video! Does the app not work with Mac, still?
Thank you so much!!! So many useful informations
Thank you for this video, you answered so many of my questions, and saved me $10 lol
Hi, Please forgive me if this is a dumb question:
If I streamed from a SNES Mini would a 3.5mm headphone set work via through this? At present I am unable to use headphones as I don’t have a mixer (when streaming from my Switch and any mini retro console).
Thank you
In your video, you had both versions of go xlr turned on at the same time, does her software reconnect both of them on? Do the channels and routing of go xlr Mini appear in the mixer?
I got a question, so my mic is a USB mic, or the only input to my computer from it is through a USB port. Is there anyway I can use this product without buying another cable?
Hi, I noticed that the Mimi model has a USB2 connection. Does it work with a computer that only has USB3-contacts?
The GoXLR mini doesn't offer the De-Esser option like the original GoXLR. If you know of a way we can enable it on the software or a workaround that would really help.
This was an awesome very thorough in-depth review & video Pete! 😁 👍 👍
Cheers mate! 🍻
🍻 to you too!
I’m not a streamer, at least not now, but I still really want this product! I think it’d be helpful for quick audio adjustments and the amp would be nice if I decide to pick up a good microphone.
i use a steel series headset would i still be able to use the headset but change the mic out>?
does the noise gate/compressor settings work if you're connecting a 3.5mm microphone instead of XLR into the mixer?
So one thing that I’m unclear on is, if everything is done on the hardware, why is the software required? Id like more transparency on that, as it seems clear from past experiences, the software can leave you without a microphone.
I have a question can the goxlr mini powers a headphones with 150ohm and get louder ? And what is the max ohms the mini can power ? I hope you can help me
hey i really want a audio mixer whit voice changer and god i use the røde podmic i have about 70-100 can you recomend any?
so my setup right now is a tonor q9 usb mic honestly for me it just seems terrible in discord and i've played with settings alot to try and make it better. It essentially is always too quiet or cuts me off mid sentence. I'm looking to upgrade to XLR for better audio control; what I'm thinking of getting is the Rode Podmic and XLR mini, I'm not a streamer by any means but i do stream my game and chat in a discord channel with some buddies. Would this be a worth it upgrade?
I’m using a Scarlett box , no mixer volumes, is it worth getting the goxlr ?
Will it make my life easier?
is it possible to do interent radio streaming using the winamp or some other web rado aplications thanks
Hey everyone my GoXlr has been giving me problems with my game chat! I have chat enabled in broadcast stream mix so my stream can hear my teammates in cod, i play on pc with ps4 controller i have a usb pedal that i use for push to talk. EVERYTIME I PRESS IT DOWN TO TALK MY TEAMTES HEAR THEMSELVES ECHOING???? ANY HELP PLEASE if i unclick chat in that row the stream cant hear my teammates
but the echoing goes away?! any help would be appreciated
can you change bass etc on the go xlr mini like you can with the astro mix amp (astro command centre) i’m looking to get astro id custom headset but can’t decide between the go xlr mini or the astro mix amp?
outstanding video, cheers mate
can u have autotune and Eco on the goxlr mini and can I use it even if my mic and headphones is conect to my pc?
I know this is an old video, but just wanted to say it was very informative. I have ordered the goxlr mini and was wondering if I was losing out by not buying the bigger version as it seems I am losing the gimmick features such as voice effects, sample pads and motorised faders, I am very happy with my choice. I dont need any of those I just was a simple audio solution for my mic and stream. Thanks for the video!
how much ram and processing does it use?
My future setup will be the goxlr mini - dt770 pros - shure mv7x (xlr) will all of these work together? Please lmk
Amazing, I'm jumping in as soon as possible.
Does the mini have voice changers like can u go into ur computer and enable it
One question, is the GoXLR mini good or ok for non streamers, I have a SM7b and idk if a goxlr mini is overkill just to discord and games
Does it do the noise gate for realtime monitoring or not?
There is a lot of noise when connecting two PC. How to handle this?
Does the goxlr mini work with the blue ember mic?
What about the Phantom Power? I read that the Mini just has 24V and the big one 48? So I can't plug in a rode nt1a to the Mini?
Does the Go xlr Mini Support 48V Phantom Power for the Rode NT1-A
does the goxlr mini have a different amp for headphones and mic?
You've expanded what you do to include a podcast now. So what would you recommend to someone who has a podcast, streams, and is looking to add CZcams as well?
is the application necessary because I will use a macbook?
Great video Pete! Had to go for a rewatch, I don't think the GO XLR is the tool for me for my stream.
I think it would be good if at least the full size GO XLR had speaker/studio monitor outputs, weather it be RCA or 1/4 inch Jack.
I create beats can this be used in place of an audio interface?
dude this video helped so much man, THANK YOUUUU!!!!
Another great video Pete! Hope all is well
i agree i need another XL input i have a 4 xlr input shure mixer it would have been perfect and a blue tooth button as well.
I ordered mine a couple of weeks ago and its arriving saturday, I use a blue spark sl and I cant wait to test it out, also bought my first DSLR camera too so should be a decent upgrade 🙂
Almost 1 year, is the GoXLR worth it in your opinion?
@@SA-pf5rw really want to hear this
what if i have xlr mic and xlr head phones i dont know what to do
Awesome video, very helpful and exactly what I needed to know! Well done, HSC sent me your way! Thank you so much!
wait so i cant use if i have a usb headset and a usb mic?
Can you use the goxlr and the stream deck with one pc
can somebody explain the purpose of the mini? i dont see why i should spend a premium on this over an audio interface or any other usb mixing board. i'm not trying to sound cheap or rude, i just dont understand. i have a background in audio recording so routing those sources isn't a problem for me
I'd love to see an actual 8 channel GoXLR with 100% customizable channels and motorized faders and two Microphone Inputs. Also i'd like to have the feature of fading the channels i'm muting instead of muting them instantly. It should be no problem, with motorized faders in the first place. I'm perfectly aware, that this would be hellish expensive, but this would be everything, ANY streamer could ever dream of.
hi there ! Great review ! Are you still advising the goxlr today ?
what if i have XLR headphones and microphone?
Still needed the cloud lifter for my mic. Bummer.
can it power more than 150 ohm headphones ? HELP
Have you ever looked at the Soundcraft Signature 12 MTK?
can you use the xlr mini like this. the xlr input for the stream itself, and the 3.5 mic for in game chat, and discord. if so i might be sold on leaving my big ass 10 channel mixer.
I am seriously thinking about getting the Mini at $250. $400 is kind of a step price for a channel my size on top of buying a XLR mic. With the mini I can get both the Mini and an AT2020 for same price as the original GO XLR. Great video and explanation of both products.
could you help me find the rear desk clamp that you are using for your portrait monitor to the left? I like how the arm attaches to rear but swings the moniter all the way to front left side.
Elgato needs to make a competitor here, neither of the GoXLR's or the Rodecasters offer what Elgato can bring to the table, which is exactly what the other companies offer but with: customization
The ability to have a small touchscreen displaying whatever you want above dials or faders is what we need. Elgato will bring one to the table and it will be the best, only a matter of time
Hey there thanks for the great vid ;)
Question:
Is it possible to connect the [go xlr] to the [go xlr mini] ?
DO you recommend this - you can not only use USB microphones like this (Blue Yeti) but then you have the option to additionally over time get an XLR microphone and plug it in this bad boy. The GoXLR Mini is $429AUD here. I just bought an Elgato Keylight for my Logitech C920 - in the future hopefully a Sony a5100 Mirrorless however it's $500+. Also need a new second monitor (mainly looking for a portrait panel but don't mind) and my chair is scuffed. Could also replace my current fans and upgrade from 1st gen ryzen and upgrade storage. Temptations..
02:27 - Yeah, preamp is great for SM7B if you intend to keep the music playing while you speak, to mask out all the hiss from maxed preamp. I'm sure it'll be fun for everyone in your corporate Zoom calls. Otherwise, you can straight out go and buy fethead or cloudlifter.
I wonder. I have a Shure SM7B. But I already have a gen 1 Scalrlett 2i2 and a Cloud Lifter. I have VST PLugins for OBS, but do you think I should buy this and just sell the other two parts used?
I would still use the cloudlifter even though you don't need it necessarily. Extra gain doesn't hurt, as you can just turn the gain down.
For the mini would it work for pc/console setup with my usb blue yeti mic/Astro a50 wireless headset? Would that all work together and how ? PLEASE HELP
I have Astro a50s wireless with the base station and a usb mic blue yeti (PS4/pc) will they all work together?
can you control game chat, separately from game volume with the goxlr mini? same question with discord. i have some friends who are still on console so we will probably be using game chat a lot, and i would like to be able to easily quiet them down when needed, would this help or is there another product thats better suited for the job?
Yes you can
There is a lot of talk about the pre-amp in all the reviews.
How is the amp in it though? The audio quality out etc. These are the questions I'd like answered.
I wish I would have known this prior to getting a Cloudlifter and an Icicle USB-XLR adapter. I use the Shure SM7B. Still gonna get this thing to reduce the clutter because it cuts both of those things out. Also it allows me to add voice effects without having to fiddle around on Adobe to get what I want. Adepto Bonum.

Got one of full size GoXLR’s in my basket, here’s hoping for a wee discord this weekend. Great vid, great info!
i hear you i'm also waiting for a discount. it's going for $500 at the moment.
GuNStArHeRo there is a company in the UK selling the full size GOXLR for £235 it also comes with free international shipping. I got mine from them after returning a MG10XU as it just wasn't for me. If you want a link let me know.
@@flapjack_matt1304 whats the site
Peaks unfortunately the shop went into liquidation because of covid-19 so only have the current stock they don't have any GOXLR left. If you have a vpn the amazon UK price is the same as the company I got it from. If no vpn just do. . Co. UK
Does it makes sense to have any of the GoXLR with a Yeti X? For a streaming setup with a ps4 and a mac?
no
Is it too much to ask for both
Excellent video 👌🏻
Late to party so doubt this will be answered, does a headphone with two 3.5 mm cables (mic and headphones) able to take advantage of the amp in the xlr mini? Or only headphones with one 3.5mm?
I thought they removed the Deesser from the Mini because that, along with the motorized faders, required wall power?
Jesse Messervy correct, the mini does not have the de-esser
Does it support a usb mic
hi I have the dt900 headphones that you have. did you plug them straight in?? any things need to be changed for that??
Hey man , you remeber when you did the irl stream setup , you said in the next video you would show how to do overlays for your stream but you didnt
Hey dude, you might want to check out lightstream IRL. They're basically doing what I did, but making it 100x easier!
Yet another very informative video!
Would it be a better option to use a cable like this: Cable Matters (1/8 Inch) 3.5mm to XLR Cable (XLR to 3.5mm Cable) Male to Male 10 Feet to use with my existing blue yeti mic to a goxlr mini or should I just use a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable?
3.5 to 3.5
Does this only work for streaming or can you use it to config your mic settings outside streaming? For example everyday use.
Yes
I am doing a livestream video podcast with six people, and use a Zoom L8 for my mixer. I am looking for a sound effects processor for one mic, but curious about how the XLR mic would output from the GoXLR and into the Zoom L8 XLR input. Since the GoXLR doesn’t have an XLR output, will it connect to the Zoom L8 mixer?
Как я знаю, данная карта имеет выход, который можно подключить к вашему zoom, знаю не актуально...
A silly question.... Can I connect 2.1 PC speaker to line in & out?
I was originally pumped about a go XLR mini, but when they cut it and half - they kept the wrong half. I was really hoping for an FX focused device, hoping to just have a unit with the FX control, presets, and a true dry pass through. Guess i'll just have to wait :( I JUST WANT A VOICE FX DEVICE WITH A CRAP TON OF PRESET BUTTONS!
@Tannen Silvers 100% agreed. I want what no one else does lol.
Great video definitely tempted by the mini
at the price id rather pick up a 4 channel XLR mixer from Yamaha and use that with a streamdeck/ Mini to control any Virtual voice synth modules id be sacrificing features and space but saving a lot on the old wallet for more inputs for the afformentioned podcast or Multi Mic setups
hey which would you suggest for a singer who streams, is it worth it? also do you know if GoXLR is compatible with BUTT (Broadcast Using This Tool)
I didn't know this existed when I was looking for a mic setup. I ended up getting the AT2020USB+ and I really really like it.
You honestly can't go wrong with that mic, man! That is what I used before I upgraded to the SM7B and a board. You can always use a free equalizer software when using a USB mic to make your voice sound even better! Just Google search "Equalizer APO Download" and "PEACE Download". :)
Can you please make a video comparing goxlr with rodecaster pro in detail ?
Good video
I learned so much
Do the GoXLR's have a dac/amp integrated for higher impedence headphones?
please can anyone answer some questions I have on the mini please:
even tho they removed the buttons, can you still add effects and hard tune on the mini with the software?
and do the settings you change on the software get stored on the device until you change them again?
and finally does it have phantom power to power a 48v mic?
thank you
thank you
You might have already gotten the info you needed, but yes you can adjust effects in the software. It also does keep the changes. I am not sure about the 48v Mic. Another thing you should know is that the company that makes the GoXLR has canceled support for the device.
@@stuxgaming thanks for your response. I ended up getting a Mackie m-caster studio instead. no regrets
@Special-5323 oh nice, I'll have to look that one up myself.
Shouldn't you be able to capture the USB mic feed from the system, same as you do with Spotify, Discord or other software sources?
i like you vid, continue on
Can you use the Samson G Track Pro with the GOXLR Mini??
is it true that the Go XLR mini does NOT have the De-Esser? This is the deciding factor for me. I really want my audio/mixing to be all in one place.
Doesn’t have a de
if got a question: is it possible to use the line in to play music to headphones AND microfone using programs like discord / teamspeak at the same time?
Yes. within the included app, you can set the routing for the different audio inputs
