I can't keep up with all the new gadgets that Steve comes up with....😂 I usually carry one of those pan/pot grippers just in case, the red handle looks nice. If you can't fit a whole chicken in while using it as an oven, then a couple of stuffed Cornish hens would do. ✌️🇺🇸🇨🇦✌️

Fun tip for the scrambled eggs. Add a little bit of mayo to the eggs. It will add both oil and act as a flavor booster to the eggs. Also will result in a fluffer egg. You can also substitute mayo in the field for eggs for cake and bread recipes.

Worked camping with my little kiddos in the 90's!!
Their mom thought it was gross, but the kids STILL (now it their 30's) remember their "best meals" camping as being breakfast!!
This time the proof isn't in the pudding, it is in the lack of leftovers!!

Another use for these high-quality drawstring pan bags from Firebox: for those who have the not-very-common Fry-bake pans (highly recommended), these drawstring bags fit those pans perfectly, depending on the size of the bag and the size of the fry-bake pan. I love the quality of these bags, and they are the perfect way to carry the fry bake. Great review!

@@MarkYoungBushcraft by the time I had the Banks Fry-bake pans shipped (to Halifax) and after customs charges, they ended up being VERY expensive...and worth every penny. They have been on every camping trip for the past 2-3 years, and have cooked more pizzas on the campfire than we have ever cooked at home. Could not recommend higher. Thanks @dansklrvids7303 for the tip, I'll be picking up the bags.

Wow. I’ve been working with Stanley for years. I like that they nest, but they take up space and I have two kits to make one. They have their own bag that I can’t combine in my chuck box. I think I may put them aside and keep these when I solo camp!

I absolutely LOVE this company's stuff!! This kit seems perfect to me!! I would have loved to have had it available as I was moving into my little camper van last year! If I was a car camper as a single man or even with a partner, I would CERTAINLY get this kit! The rack is something I would love to have as a trivet or a "drainer" for stuff I fried. I'd even love trying the pizza stone "in the wild!" But really the ability to have a simple, quick and easy oven solution with multi uses is just a very elegant solution making the kit save money in the long run! Thanks from showcasing this great product, Mark!!

The trick to eggs 🥚 a water. Once the eggs get a little firmed up on the pan, then add a tiny bit of water around the eggs and with a spatula start working a little water under the eggs. Of course you have to start with the oil. If you add the water it helps regulate the temperature so the eggs don’t stick at all

Thanks for another great overview and comparison, Mark. These look like great sets, and it's nice to have the flexibility to add items as required, such as additional plates. Personally, I don't often season cookware, as it's a good excuse to use extra butter instead 😊

I seasoned both the small and large pans, I kept the small one seasoned for cooking eggs and let the seasoning wear away on the large pan as I use that for cooking pasta sauce, tomatoes etc which effects the seasoning, the anodised aluminium is easy to clean with some boiling water and a wipe around or anything stubborn I use a wooden spatula. After cleaning I heat the pan and add I tiny drop of oil and wipe around bring to the smoke point (grape seed oil I find is the best) and wipe again and the pan is ready for the next use. When camping I use these pans all the time and I haven’t really found anything better when taking weight, convenience and effectiveness into account.

If you add a small round wire rack to the reflector oven it helps with larger container’s. The wire rack from your 10” kit should work, under the rear bar & over the front bar since most of the weight is to the front of the oven it will stay in place. I use a 10” Dallarama cooling rack & it works well in the oven.

G'day Mark, I really like the idea of one handle fits all; no potential for it to heat up and makes nesting more efficient too. Not sure I'd be carrying a pizza stone in a pack, but I do wonder what else could fit inside the small kit in particular, I dont expect you'd get a firebox stove in there, but maybe utensils, a wash cloth ?
    Cheers Duke.
P.S. I use rice bran oil for cooking, in part, since its fairly healthy and very well priced here, but mainly because it has a high smoke point, ..... I save my expensive EV olive oil for salad dressing, bruschetta and the like, ..... and even then sparingly ; )

    • @MarkYoungBushcraft

      @@MarkYoungBushcraft thanks for the reply.
Not just the nesting but additionally I guess many, me included, would be interested in comparing:
Which one should I buy for car camping?
      Would they nest together?
I already have one of them, should I buy the other?
      Similarly for the 27:
Should I buy the Firebox small kit or the Trangia 27 anodized for backpacking?
I guess since it’s thicker the Firebox would be better for campfire but does it really make a difference?
Shouldn’t I go with the 27 since it’s thinner and has a better windscreen for windy condition?
It would be nice to have a comparison video.
