IMPORTANT POROSITY TIPS
If you are high porosity: thicker products with butters and oils tend to work better. Hydrolyzed proteins and keratin infused products also help. Use gentle cleansers to clean scalp and hair strands.
If you are low porosity: lighter, creamier, products without too many hard oils tend to work better for buildup prevention. Generally avoiding protein filled products is a good idea. Protein overload can leave you hella crunchy. Use stronger cleansers/clarifiers to clean scalp and hair strands.
HAIR REGIMENT TEMPLATE
WASH DAY (once a week)
1. clean with a
- sulfate shampoo
- sulfate free shampoo
- cleansing conditioner
- co wash
- clarifier (like an acv rinse)
2. deep condition with a
- protein hair masque
- moisturizing deep conditioner
3. moisturize with a
- protein leave in
- creamy leave in
- thick leave in
4. style in a wash and go, braids, twists etc w/
- optional styling products
MID WEEK CLEANING (if necessary)
- sulfate free shampoo
- silicone-free conditioner
NIGHT ROUTINE
- wear a satin scarf
- use a satin pillowcase
- spritz style with a light/liquid leave in conditioner
TRIMMING
- as needed or generally 2-3 times a year.

the isopropyl alcohol is used to dissolve another ingredient in the conditioner. typically it's not enough to dry your hair out due to it being found near the bottom of the list but if you're still afraid to use it totally understandable
Yeah...I mean I literally love the conditioner so I'm probs gonna continue using it!
Yup. One of my favourite conditioners (Sukin hydrating conditioner, it's an Australian brand) has isopropyl alcohol in it for the same reason and it's basically dead last on the ingredients list. Still absolutely hydrating and gives good slip.
Yep!! By the time the product hits the shelf the alcohol has served its purpose and evaporated

I had to cancel coco cream conditioner for having rubbing alcohol in it and started using "not your mother's royal honey conditioner" and it is the best conditioner I've used, has tons of slip and make my hair soft 👌🏾

Looks at my hair with its low porosity self...cries that i bought 2 different hair products but I'm happy at the moment with them
I saw this video and bought the manuka honey deep conditioner from shea moisture, as I thought it would be okay since you also have low porosity hair. Then, a few weeks later, I decided to buy again from the same line as I was out of shampoo and conditioner. Very soon after that I started experiencing a TON of shedding, very bad tangles, tender scalp and my hair became extremely dry. I tried a lot of things to make it stop but it's only after I realized it was the line's product that it calmed down. Turns out it was protein overload, which can easily happen with low porosity hair. Everyone's hair is different and I'm not trying to blame Will but be really careful with that, it's the worst. My hair was finally doing great and now it's so damaged it set me back several months in my curly hair journey.
I wish I found your channel before I damage my hair by putting a deep conditioner that had protein in it bc it made my hair fall out. 😢it's okay watching your channel will definitely get me back on track💜💜💜I want my long healthy hair back😊

Porosity is a bit more complicated. According to the curl ninja, low porosity takes a while to absorb moisture and high porosity absorbs water like a sponge. Drying times depend on many things like density and health of the hair. For me, my low porosity hair dries faster than my high porosity ends. The ends just hold on to water longer.

I'm so mad about the coconut curling creme because it works so well on my low porosity hair, but I'm ALLERGIC 😑
