      @@arsenyrazhkov4559 I’m not knocking your build it just a far fetched claim by ARM. If you compare their FMIC to another 500hp FMIC, you’ll see it’s much smaller.
      525hp ARM 23.5x6.5x3=458.25in while a 500hp Treadstone TR8 is 22x7.8x3.5=600.6in The Arm is sized like a 400hp (360whp) FMIC, which is what I was making before replacing it.

      @@arsenyrazhkov4559 thanks. And also if I want to just keep the factory intercooler in do I just have to remove the factory outlet pipe and throttle pipe and then put in the aftermarket pipes and outlet pipes, etc?

    • @arsenyrazhkov4559
      @arsenyrazhkov4559  Před 3 lety

      @@davidf6571 you don’t have to remove anything, the stock or the new outlet and charge pipes will route straight to the new intercooler. I’d recommend deleting the stock intercooler though, for weight reduction and Better airflow to your radiator and engine oil

    how come ur intercooler is small compared to CTS or Unitronic

    • @arsenyrazhkov4559
      @arsenyrazhkov4559  Před 3 lety +1

      Generally speaking, the larger an intercooler, the better it is at cooling the air. But if an intercooler is too large, you can get turbo lag and pressure drop. Since the ARM intercooler is located right in the front, directly in the line of airflow, it can cool the charged air more effectively and efficiently than larger intercoolers in the OEM location, which will eventually heat soak anyways. This is why the ARM intercooler is the best in the market. It’s a genuine front mount, unlike other kits.

    I was thinking it might be better in black ... or I was thinking maybe doing some custom vent in a 45° angle in front to were the intercooler can't be seen

      I have a 2014 Passat B7 base, installed it today. Modified the passenger mounting bracket and had to cut the radiator core support square inserts about .5 inch down. Also had to do some trimming inside the bumper. Thank you so much for uploading this video, it nudged me to go ahead and buy the intercooler! The extra pipe in kit came in handy since I have not upgraded the throttle pipe.

    Hey, not to nag on your purchase decision but this intercooler is complete trash. I as well went the same route and needless to say it's complete garbage. The inlet and outlet pipes from the core aren't circle, they're oval. Air will always leak from there and your car will sound like harmonica under boost. I used to t-bolt clam and hose clamp it certain way just to keep the air in. Performance is very negligible and for the money you can easily get another core, pipe, even custom mounts. I even have logs from my BT gti with gtx3071r on meth comparing this to my 600 core custom intercooler.
