I was a big fan of all the living weapons cards. The little Mortarpod, Flayer Husk, Batterskull and the gang. I think I just find the 0/0 germ tokens very fascinating concept, like a 2 for 1 except one of the two things you got is just an empty shell so the cards are actually efficiently costed compared to other 2 for 1s.
Whenever hear "Myr" it makes me want to design a set of custom "Dim Myr" cards that give popular Dimir cards a Myr/artifact twist.
Please do this one again. There are too many amazing artifact creatures for just one hour long episode.
What did we miss?

Always a pleasure to Join the stream, good luck in Vegas, and have a safe trip home on Monday 😄
'Signal Pest' my fav.
and Workhorse was part of 1998 worlds deck by Buehler / Team CMU called Horsecraft. going infinite with recurring nightmare and earthcraft. This all molded into a recurring nightmare survival of the fittest deck which was the best deck in Tempest block / Standard at the time. Steel Golem was the creature of choice for mono blue control. Since most damage based removal dealt 2 or 3 damage and couldnt kill the golem thanks to it big butt. The downside wasnt a thing because it didnt run any other creature or a lone rainbow efreet
Myr squire and myr galvanizers are part of an infinite damage combo within myr tribal. Any tap a creature deal damage equipment, myr squire, and 2 galvanizers is an infinite damage loop.
Although if you're going through that much effort you could just go with 2 myr retrievers, altar of the brood/impact tremors, and heartless summoning and just loop the retrievers together
The Reality Chip is one of my favorite artifacts. There's something to be said for running two in case of removal. I also really like the anime-style showcase art. Love the art on Master Transmuter, too. I might pick one up just because of that, not that I ever plan on using her.
I am a bit surprised it took as long as it did for someone to say Breya. I guess she's a commander-only card so that makes sense but she's a swiss-army knife once she hits the field and her -4/-4 ability means a lot of decks just can't win if she's on the battlefield and you have untapped mana. You can build her to really be anything in Commander (but she lends herself to a half-dozen combo lines because of her colors and because of her abilities, being a sink for infinite mana). Still, I remember first learning about her during MH1 "what cards will they reprint season" and the Humans players were licking their chops that she could enter Modern. She would have really made that deck go over the top, being the perfect finisher--can you imagine a Modern Humans deck with Esper Sentinel and her at the top end?!?
Stuffy Doll was a useful sideboard card in its day in Standard for red decks. CoP: Red was in 9th Edition and Standard legal and Stuffy Doll was a way to beat that.
i dont think stuffy doll is very good.
for 5 mana u can play batterskull. and batterskull synergize with stoneforge mystic. 6 mana wurmcoil engine. far better finisher slot cards in my opinion for same or similar mana cost.
as far red decks. cards like earthquake or wildfire even decks that use those would rather have other cards than stuffy doll.
in tempest set was a series of enkor creatures that can redirect damage and hard to kill them because of that. stuffy doll MIGHT fit in there but even then 5 cost is too much. the idea of that deck is gain board advantage with cheap creatures. then play card like armageddon or ravages of war to eliminate opponents hopes of recovering. or ever achieving high mana in the match.
as far as red sideboards. red has cards like ruination. anarchy. meltdown. etc insanely good sideboard cards that outshine stuffy doll my opinion. white is a common and strong color to anarchy is fantastic sideboard card. etc.
Walking Archive was ALWAYS my fave.
artifact creatures with modular are my favorites after vampires, i still have my blue/red modular artifact deck with proliferate, the artifact lands from mirrodin, i do have 2 lands of each W/B/G beside the 4 U/R just to have more artifacts. Mirrorworks/Fated Infatuation imprinted on Spellbinder, Arcbounds and Vedalkens. Tezzeret the Seeker+icy manipulator.
My pet artifact creature will always be Tidehollow Sculler. Probably not as good in a meta with a bunch of broken lands, but it's surprisingly good for an otherwise unassuming support card in the right aggro-control deck, especially if you're stacking up more thoughtseizes, and maybe even raven's crime in the sideboard. I still find it surprising that this archetype didn't see much play in that Standard era, probably because it had tons of other really busted stuff and not as much support for orzhov.
It works well with cards like Ephemerate, since you can respond to its ETB trigger and make the card that you exile do so permanently.
@@Xoulrath_ yup! it's got oblivion ring templating
you had me at bale strix it’s one of my favorite magic cards!
If you look into how people get AI art to draw what they want, there's a lot of tricks to it - some of which is just putting in the names of famous artists, who are usually part of the AI's training data - but also one of the tricks to get a certain style of art is ending your AI prompt with "Trending on Artstation", so the AI draws from data that was tagged that way... and, of course, a ton of MTG artists have their own pages on Artstation, to say nothing of other art portfolio websites... so most art AIs probably have the majority of MTG art integrated into their neural net.
(59:59) It's actually spelled "Faerie Artisans", starting with "Fae", which is how MtG always spells it, instead of "Fairy".
I’m surprised no one mentioned Bomat Courier. Enjoy your vacation and good luck at Magic 30!
Used to run a jalira polymorph edh deck and just flip into blightsteel. Good times
what are the songs you use in these videos?
I used to play sentinel and shapeshifter a lot … back in the day they were great defense …
I have an Ornithopter "tribal" deck in EDH, wincon? hit with the thopters.
I used to think that the memnite was a creature with a long neck, a tiny back in one really big wing.
Howling golem is a personal favorite
But yeah I love brudicald to though I use it as the commander to my clone deck
Has some busted combos
So I don't write a whole novel I limited myself to one. I never leave home without my Ornithopter of Paradise.
It's too bad that they didn't make its mana cost 1. That was a real fail. Truthfully they should have made it 0 mana to maintain consistency with the other Ornithopter card.
I think Etched Champion is the most difficult to deal with
Phyrexian Revoker can target planes walkers as well.
to me these are my top 3.
walking ballista.
wurmcoil engine. its too much fits in most decks. solid finisher slot. takes effort to bring it down and its tokens. and it may heal its owner alot take out plenty opponent creatures. works well in decks with mana ramp or mana rocks and ancient tomb. then play a card like armaggedon once u have board advantage to ruin enemy hopes of recovering.
batterskull(even though its not a creature achieves similar effect. it creates a token and attaches to it, can be used to buff another creature and it is harder to kill.)
inspiring statuary! with academy manufactor the rest of your deck becomes almost free. but you gotta play non artifacts to make it usable. top it off with a rise and shine for 2 mana and you have an army of creatures to run people over.
Metalworker wasnt busted from the get go. First we abused Tolarian Academy with cheap artifacts. Metalworker broke loose in extended around 2002 with upheavel and such. Those were the days, Even Oath of Druids was still legal.
I love myrs, they are funky lil guys, I wish they where delt a better hand...
phyrexian revoker can't target lands but no problem with mana dorks
Myr battlesphere then mystic reflection (?) the tokens. Does a lot of work in commander
Now that’s a combo.
@@NikachuMTGLive its insane! Also it's used in brudiclad EDH and is a so dumb to go against
Ohhh I've been wanting to make a janky 60 card deck with Mystic Reflection. Maybe High Tide or Tron.
Work horse is a combo piece
Sad I missed this one, objectively the best artifact creature is metalworker because the thing can generate 10+ mana
OG Karn can destroy all of the artifact lands or if you have mycrsynth lattice in play you can just destroy any land for 1 mana.
43:18 "Necron, whatever that is...." Said by a nerd among nerds.
I lol'd. I've only just realized just how many magic players don't know anything about Warhammer yet they're like the tabletop Geekdoms that reign over all. I've been enjoying all the pronunciation butcherizations though 😅
@@FRAAANKYSUUUPER I gave 40K a try years ago, but it's far too much of a dice game for my liking. Whenever I've checked back, it's looked more or less the same over the years. Kill Team looks like it could be fun after I looked at the rules changes that they made to it. But it seems as though they continue to change the rules yearly in order to push sales and I'm over that shit with companies now.
@@Xoulrath_ to be honest I haven't played for many, many years, but I keep up with the lore and I have read many books.
@@FRAAANKYSUUUPER I'm not usually one who gets into the lore of games, but 40K is definitely the exception. Crazy stuff lol.
Arcbound crusher, stuffy doll
Boi did not mention Steel overseer
When are you flying to Poland and where?
I have family in Warsaw. I have no immediate plans to go, but I’ll go eventually.
Psychosis Crawler!
Spellskite still sees a lot of sideboard play in older formats like Legacy and Vintage. It's not very popular these days.
Bro how much vodka is spiked in your tea?
Not enough.
Arcbound Ravager+esper sentinel make the esper a 5/5 pretty easily
and oo combine that with ethersworn canonist then they can't play anything heheheheheh
Kappa Cannoneer is Blastoise
I'm currently brewing an artifact creature deck with Breya, just so I could play both Mishra and Urza. So your stream was awesome for me last night. Thanks
You must pay one mana for a head attachment for your Memnite, sir.
Without Brainstorm to cheat your draws, Shardless Agent isn't good at hitting Ancestral Vision in modern.
Coat of Arms
50:27 golos is banned in commander
Blightsteel Colossus.
He's in my Tron SB for Karn to grab.
They for got 2 punch Steve.
Platinum angel is kinda busted..
haha nikachu thinking trazen costs 6 when necron has ways to cheat it out one of the necrons alows you to mill into gy and another alows you to get anything from the grave BY PAYING LIFE insed of mana so trazen is amazing, also necrons are one of the mtg +warhamer crossover comander decks
I dont understand why balefulstrix is not in modern but icefang coatl is and it is at times strictly better because of the flash ability.
I think they tried to make a watered down version. They failed.
@@NikachuMTGLive i am a grixis player. I do hope baleful strix become legal in modern one day. Who knows... in modern horizons3
I would love to have Strix for my affinity flying deck
Baleful Strix in the brothers war... commander set. If they don't maybe bring it out in the standard set it will be a missed opportunity (ಥ﹏ಥ)
Yeah, my daughter has a Snake tribal deck that runs 4 of them. And it's super easy to turn on.
I'm sure that Strix will show up at some point in an MH set.
Stuffy Doll
Gold peak
Dark steel Colossus is the OG doom stack. Manticore sucked 2much.
I see your face and I immediately think.....uh duh. Idk why but thats what I see. You have that uh duh face. Sorry not sorry ;)
