- For this video, we show ya how to make our favorite indicators for fly fishing. The Dorsey Indicator is lightweight yet it can hold heavyweight. I use polypropylene yarn, thread, and 3/16in orthodontic elastics. Give it a try!
New Zealand wool indicator method using unwashed wool more simpler to construct than this method , all the best, David.
Thanks for the tip David! I’m pinning your comment.
Excellent tutorial
Thank you sir!
Where do you get your macrome yarn?
What are you using to brush out the yarn?
Don’t know about the video, but I’ve always just used a soft bristle brush that you can get from any hardware store... the kind that you you can use for cleaning grout or other small areas
Have you ever used a new Zealand indicator ? 100% simpler than this
I've used New Zealand indicators and found this to be an even better system
Yep and great point. I like both systems but the NZ is a little easier.
Yarn indicators were around before Dorsey was born.
Can’t adjust the NZ to depth w/o taking it off and resetting it. The “Dorsey” is a better option
