It would make sense. I highly doubt this is the only planet because...you know...capitalism
The "onboarding" style tutorial seems designed to look like every high-turnover group-interview job mass-training situation. Plus, all those crashed drop pods weren't launched by "current player". So, yeah, seems like there are A LOT of other pioneers out there somewhere. BUT, on the other hand! Space elevators need to be on the equator! So those twinkling blobs at high latitudes must be some other kind of pioneer activity. I'm impressed CS made easter eggs so easy to miss yet in plain sight from anywhere.
I think it's a moon, not a planet. And our pioneer is on a moon too. In standard naming conventions, "MASSAGE-2" means the second planet in a star system named "Massage". The stuff after that "(A-B)b" refers to objects orbiting that planet. They added the planet to the skybox too, it's the Saturn-like thing in the sky at night.
Theory we will create a rocket at end game to rescue them and work together

Easter egg: The lava planet in the sky moves behind the gas giant, meaning it's WAAAAY bigger
That's... Not how that works. That means it's orbit is farther out

I don't think you understood the "oh snap!" "you've got the power" reference. Snap! is a Eurodance group who came out with the song "The power!" In 1990. It was a huge hit all over the world

I hope there's more than just those three tapes out in the world; absolutely love collectables.
If you use Pak Mod and "!unlockall" you don't get more tapes, than those you showed. So those are the only in-game. But they may add more.
The "We will rock you" easter egg is by accident. The devs didn't implement it intentionally. It's a coincidence.
so Stayin' Alive at the workbench is not intentionally?
The Rebar syringe makes me think of the crusader's crossbow from the medic in Team fortress 2.
you fire a big syringe that damages enemies and heals teammates.
One secret you missed out on (That might be kinda rare, it's hard to tell) is that sometimes when you reload the rebar gun, it instead goes flying out of your hands. It's just an animation and it does come back when you switch weapon. I also remember this animation being super old, it was there when I played the earliest test version.

As a programmer, I'm confident the other types of rebar ammo are "dead code"... stuff that was put in for prototyping that nobody bothered to fully remove because it wasn't going to be visible to the players anyway.
That's fair, and what I thought, but then the old rebar rounds we're removed? So why keep those ones?
@@TotalXclipse My guess is that the old rebar was removed because they were sure it was going away long before they had decided which new ammo types would be added. So when a cleanup pass was made, it only got what was already finalized as gone.
@@TotalXclipse Or to not crash the game when you open an old save file, so they can be migrated to newer ammo types
I think the tape pickup itself is also a nod to Tony Hawk Pro Skater as the hidden tapes in those games also floated and spun in a similar way.

when looking at the planet mesh via an extraction tool like umodel, you can see that the objects on the planet are actually the same as the crashed pod you find the hard drives from.

@@TotalXclipse well, if some don't manage to land correctly, there's a probability that others missed their target completely
considering the size of the planet, those pods is absolutely gigantic.
the planet dissapears behind the gas giant meaning its further away, yet its that big in the sky... the planet is massive.
Doesn't it say at the start of the intro that the player is the only successful landing in the system? Could mean the other drop pods contained other engineers who didn't land successfully - including on other planets in the system.
Hookshot is famous weapon from Legend of Zelda that is part grappling hook gun and part winch. In LoZ Twilight Princess we get to dual wield two Hookshots, which leads to what is basically Web swinging like spiderman.
The big mountain in the distance that you can see at the end of the video is a replica of the Matterhorn in Switzerland

The syringe rebar is probably what the alien parts are going to be used for. They did say that the remains will have another use in future and that makes sense to me
I wondered if there was anything going on with the new planets but couldn't tell just looking with naked eye.
It's not about the naked eye - you have to wait for the planet to do half a rotation or you can't see them
Don’t see this posted very often but the pattern casted by the flashlight or torch as some call it, is the coffee stains studio logo. Cannot unsee.
Hopefully they make the map bigger or add different land masses, which we can get to with ships, or going to another planet lie Dyson sphere

About the only thing I can think of is Paradise Island. They keep saying they're going to cut it, but I think it would be cool if they extended it into bounds and set some story beat there.

Perhaps the hook shot rebar could be in reference to the hook shot from The Legend of Zelda.
I can confirm Jetpack Johnny. He will spawn where Hog Alpha spawn but has a very rare chance to spawn. mine spawned in the Northern Forest on the ramp next to the impure and normal Sulfur nodes. the funny thing is, I had barely finished Tier 4 so had no access to Fuel when I got the Jetpack.
I had him spawn at Crater Lake area. That bigger crater next to the one with the cassette. Had just killed some hogs when BOOM. Didn't die, but blew my pioneer back a bit lol. Same too had jetpack before getting ability to make fuel.
I killed him at edge of red forest and desert forest, not far from bauxite source.
I dont remember where i saw him spawn but didnt think much of it, after watching this video now im sad i missed out on free jetpack
Cool Video! I actually found one of the Jetpack Hogs after a couple days in my very first savegame. Before I even unlocked it as well. Naturally, the next milestone I picked to unlock, was to get fuel :D

I ran into a jetpacking hog last night. I had no idea they were a thing and thought the game glitched out. He was over in the crater lakes area by a crash site. Good to know that its part of the game!

I really hope the game comes with a mysterious and interesting story and dlc / expansion would hopefully be other planets.
The hand fire sign easter I can confirm still works. The trick is spam the clapping animation really fast and look for the rist's to come up from the bottom screen at a level position, then if your good you can catch it spamming T to clap instead of waiting for the animation to finish.

I've seen that Johnny The Jetpack 2-3 times in my Update 6 playthrough. It behaves so funny and really drops a jetpack
I hadn't played in awhile, but the sloop and mercer messages are different now. One mentioned it detected more than ONE trace of human nearby, then went on about some kinda of infection and things collected (maybe the Mercer's) being part of the cure.
Yep - definitely worth listening too, I believe they've been like that since the beginning just none of us knew to wait around :D
Could this reference the game Prototype? The protagonist is Alex Mercer... I wonder if there are any other sorts of connections... Maybe story will result in these spheres being able to shift form...
And by the way for the time we know that we are collecting alien artefacts to make a cure. Ada tell's you that when you stand near an artefact
The things ADA says to you near a Somersloop or a Mercer Sphere are in the vein of the object taking control of ADA and making her say things to convince you to pick up the item. The one "Detecting multiple FixIt Pioneers in the vicinity" is to pressure you with competition. the one with the message saying "Hello, this is [paternal figure], I have recently taken ill..." is to use familial bonds you have to entice you to collect it. It goes further, in fact. "Your contract legally requires you to collect this artifact" to use your fear of being punished.
The bigger question here is why these faintly glowing objects are so invested in being collected. Only the story can tell us.
Both somersloops and mercer spheres have several barks they make; apparently the artifact is trying to tempt you into collecting it. "Harvest. it." "Comply." "Hello, this is [paternal figure], I am deathly ill, and doctors say the only cure is alien artifacts." "Detecting multiple Ficsit personnel in the area, harvest this artifact before it's too late." It's very much like the Mesmer from Subnautica.

I found a hog with a jet pack at the coordinates (in-game) 1030,-440. It hit me very hard. Instant death 😂
The syringe could be funny when they finally flesh out multiplayer.

O! I'm a very new player. But today while exploring I found the hog with the jetpack.
I was fighting multiple hogs and 1 spitter. Didn't even notice it until it exploded while I jumped away already for the spitter. After killing them all I looked at the weird exploding one and thought wth, a jetpack on the ground..?! It was somewhere between the closest quartz and the grassy fields in the forest. IDK where exactly it was or if it even spawns in the same location though ^^
Thought is this a feature..? Is it a bug even? xD Sure got a jetpack now but no means to fuel it yet haha. Good to know it's an easter egg!
I have a feeling the Valheim OST won't be in for a while longer as the game isn't finished yet.

the jetpack hog finally answered a question I had for a long time, as to why there is a jetpack just laying around in my world, but I never knew why, because I must have killed the pig before I even knew there was a jetpack in the game 😂

The location for the Rebar Syringe in the game appears to be /Game/FactoryGame/Prototype/Equipment/...., so they were probably just testing out some different things!
The last Rebar is a Grappling Hook!
Did you know the scenic mountain you can see from almost everywhere in the map, the one you look at in this video's outro is in the exact shape of the famous mountain, the peak of the Alps, called Matterhorn
So I'm not the only one thinking that this is based of the Matterhorn :D
There's another nod to Critical Role via one of the respawn screens, which says "Is it Thursday, yet?"
I can confirm that I've got the jetpack hog, not once, but twice, IIRC it was around -140/60.
I also got it before unlocking the jetpack

The full size biomass burner has a similar thing to the hub burners, but in full.
I feel like the objects on the other planet aren't strictly the space elevators themselves, but the project assembly's on top. Otherwise they'd be waaay too big
The hog rocket thing happened twice to me and in quick succession. It was trippy. Two free rockets though lol.

I found the jetpack pig earlier today, certainly spiced up my latest restart as safe to say never saw it before.
AVA dose say when you start the game that you are the the 4th secsefule landing and implies that the others died on landing.
So having "Worlds" to play on instead of "Starting Locations" has been common in a few games to be added later, you have 1 map to start then "expansions" that contain different things specifically for that world. Games like Ark: Survival Evolved ect.
Would be FANTASTIC to play as a Pioner on the lava world, where hostiles aren't really common, but the threat of playing on a 0 water world surrounded by lava? Sounds fantastic.
You'd rely on Geothermal generators and forms of deep mining to avoid your factory being sumerged in a unexplorable put of lava lol.
When you were looking at the hub’s biomass burner, the status light is untextured. Also one of the sulfur nodes in the northern forest is invisible.
On my current save I found the Jet pack hog on April 1st and just thought it was another gimmick of the April fools day. I did receive a free jet back while I was still only on Tier level 1 which was nice. Fuel was a problem though. LOL
OMG I was drving my tractor around and seen the jetpack one thinking it was a bug, I went back after but it didnt have it anylonger.
There used to be voicelines if you played long enough or did nothing for long enough reminding you of several stuff. Have to look up how to trigger them. It definetly had one after 12h.
i think the syringe rebar is a TF2 medic crossbow reference as the TF2 crossbow shoots syringes that heal teammates and hurt enemies.
another easteregg in the HUB at the desks: the "Windows XP" screen, the crashreport, and line of code.
The spinning animation of the cassettes is a nod to Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2.
When you're crafting on the bench: the beat is Stayin' Alive by The Bee Gees.
I can tell you, the jetpack hog exists. It kills you when you least expect it and leaves you speechless in front of your screen.
I faced the hog with the Jetpack 😂 that was amazing to see, when I killed it I took the Jetpack, that was on Tier 3&4

Regarding the hookshot rebar snutt did recently tell someone that asked about being able to slingshot around to ask about it on the QA site. So that tells me that either he's uninformed about something of the sort having been considered by the devs already, or knowing it's considered and scrapped because they aren't sure if there is enough interest. So my best guess is that they're not planned additions per se but rather placeholders for old assets.
The most interesting thing for me is that I found the jet pack-wearing hog and killed it in my most recent game, which means that I now have a jet pack without having unlocked past advanced steel…
I hope they’re teasing other planets. The map is getting old and it’d be nice to have some variety or even procedural generation.
here are 2 more Easter Eggs:
- at the Craft bench, at the lower right there are 3 collerd Cables, this is the german flag
- At 2870 : -883 (ingame Coordinants) there is a spezial Rock with a powerslug on top
Right next to the Milo can in the equipment workshop is a can of Lacknafta. That's the Swedish name for a kind of paint thinner/solvent/degreaser
i've encountered the jetpack hog, i even thought that was the game scaling to my equipment because it wasn't there when i returned to my corpse but there were the normal smaller ones.
caught me quite off-guard since i felt save on a full height conveyor-belt, right until it suddenly flew at me.
If you point the flashlight at a smooth surface you'll notice that the light actually forms the Coffee Stain Studios logo

I have found the jetpack called four times, weirdly. Nice not having to make a jetpack and having spare for friends
I did find the jetpack on the hog, but it was early in the game and i never got far enough to get fuel for it.
A bit of speculation on my end but thinking maybe the "800" in "H-0TAF800" is a reference to a (locally) famous Swedish punk song called "800 degrees".
Once I was watching the portable miner UI and I realized it was named portobello miner.

I left the yellow slug alone where you find the DRG music tape and have named him Karl
10:27 got killed by something and after collecting my inventory got an jetpack. must be this hog. sadly never seen it ... only died ^^
The trains have an Easter egg. When riding a train left clicking gives a train horn. Randomly and very rarely it will instead give a train steam whistle noise. Often takes a LOT of clicking but it’s cool when it happens.
I did find the jetpack hog. I was not even remotely prepared for it and it blew me up as I was running around collecting hard drives on the other side of the map.
Thing is though, like, it's pretty much just purely an interesting encounter. Even if you find one and pick it up, you can't use it without fuel and by the time you have fuel, making a jetpack is easy.

The ammo type sounds like for multiplayer stats healing and range explosion etc.
I found the jetpack Hog pretty early in my current playthrough while setting up my Caterium factory. I though it was a new enemy type, not an easter egg
Same here because I've found so many of them. It was a shame because I had jetpacks but no fuel.
Sometimes when you use the xeno basher you might hit first with the basher and the second time with your fist.

No flying jellyfish looking thing? Or that rock that looks like a giant egg near the forest starting area. There is also a small arch with alot of glowing mushrooms under it overlooking the canyon.
hookshoot rebar was propably working like batman hooks so you could climb walls without puting thousands of ramps everywhere.
Late to the party, but the background image on the screens at the office is a reference to the OS Windows XP.
In the Equipment Workshop there's containers labeled in Swedish; Trälim (wooden glue) and Lacknafta (turpentine).
I can confirm that the jetpack hog is real. I found it near to the border of the rocky desert and the northern forest
i found johnny on my new save at the junction of the crater lake and nothern forest and i was like : "WTF is that boy goin' " when i saw it
There was another easter egg, not sure if its still in the game if you use the horn of the train it did sometimes whistle like an old steam engine train instead of the normal sound
In the Cycle: frontier lobby there is an area that has lots of posters, one of them is a ficsit poster, also grafittied on. People are suggesting that Satisfactory and The Cycle is in the same universe. Or Yaeger and Coffe Stain just has beef, haha.
the jetpack creature i found yesterday. i was so confused when the creature had a jetpack
Jetpack Johnny is a random spawn location as far as I can tell, I got lucky and it was almost the first hog I encountered in my latest save so I've had a useless jetpack on my back since about minute 20 of that save lol. In various saves and MP games, I've seen it in about 10 different locations thus far.
The default names of the train stations are real names of stations in Sweden.
There is also a legend about a golf practice hidden somewhere on the map but nobody found it yet... 😃
