For all of the arm chair mechanics out there saying I'm the worst person in the world for not draining the cooler. I drained the cooler the next time it came in and like an 1/8 of a quart came out. You aren't getting every drop of oil out with a change. Trust me getting 95% and filter out is pretty darn good.

I can vouche for the upcharge on the SRT Hellcat Charger. I had an SRT Charger and the oil changes were $100. Now that I have an SRT Hellcat its been $129 no matter where I went, hence why I'm here. Never again now that I see its so simple and I have the time to do it myself. Appreciate the video.

One thing I don't understand/hate about some manufacturers is why don't they do like VW/MB that have the filter on top so you can easily do it with the oil extractor without jacking up the car.

  • @justmedontknowdoyou7860

As far as not understanding on why/how to add oil to a side mount filter. If you add oil to the filter and let it sit for awhile. It disappeared as it is absorbed into the element and won't run out.

API SN approved AMSOIL Signature Series and RedLine Oil is not the same thing as API SN approved O’Reilys oil. The manual says use 0w-40 Pennzoil or an equivalent. If you have any factory powertrain warranty remaining, best to at least use a 0w-40 oil, Pennzoil or not, to keep any future warranty claims from becoming unnecessarily complicated. Better to use what Dodge recommends specifically because this is a race car and I don’t think owner is driving it normal with that beauty engine in it.

  • @chewy98ta28

With no torque wrench I try to simulate how ever many foot pounds are needed and put that much pressure one foot from the pivot point on the ratchet so something that needs 20 foot pounds with a 12 inch ratchet I'd put 20 pounds of pressure at the end of the ratchet or 40 pounds at the end of a 6 inch ratchet or 10 pounds of a 24 inch ratchet. That should keep you from stripping threads unless you are really bad at estimating weight. I wouldn't use that system if I was rebuilding engines but for drain plugs and accessories I don't mind the risk. But usually I just tighten until I think it's tight enough.

    • @2carpros
