A fun fact about this build: Pain Split reflects damage to the target as true damage, this includes the damage you take from Curse, so you can Pain Split someone and Curse and that will prevent them to score with the Rayquaza shield, you can get the shield while you are defending.

As a Trevenant main myself, I have to admit Trevenant is very stupid and inmortal enough to literally die only ONCE with very bad luck.
But Trevenant came from being the worst Pokémon from the game to one of the best of its class, and as Ghost type lover, I want him to thrive lmao

Curse item is also valid option. I like extra attack from wp for extra detonation curse damage
