- This video is a record of an excursion on the Allegany Central Railroad from Cumberland to Frostburg, Maryland on April 23, 1989. The excursion was sponsored by the Railroad Enthusiasts' Chesapeake Division as part of the Division's "Wild West Virginia - Western Maryland Weekend". The Allegany Central is now known as the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad.
I remember this well. My wife and I rode this in October 1990. That was one beautiful locomotive. I last rode the line in 2016, unfortunately a rock slide shut down part of the line and you couldn't get all the way to Frostburg.
Been 30 years since this came out
2:22 Albert Barron Dinkins Jr and Douglas Sands Karhan would certainly be proud 🥲 of these moments. Same with William James Purdie Jr, and William Andersen Payne.
Cool one of my favorite classes of steam locomotives all time

Where are 1236 and 1238 right now?
They have been sitting in storage in Winnipeg, MB since 2016 at the Prairie Dog Central Railway.
They have now become a part of the collection of the Age of Steam Roundhouse (AOSR) in Sugarcreek, Ohio.
@@stuartadamsrailfanningvideos No, you're thinking of 1293 and 1278.
Plan fell through buying those Pacifics. They are indeed in Manitoba at prairie dog central
@@91_C4_FL they are up for sale again. Too heavy for the operation. If they had to go back to the US, bluegrass scenic rr or old dominion chapter or even the Buckingham branch rr.
Can i use this Footage in my Southern Railway Steam Program documentary? i want to make sure you as the producer are okay with me using your footage before i use it without permission.
