What's with the commentary on this? Did they have Ali re-record all his commentary for each clip as if it were live? Cause there's no chance he was this muted and calm if it was actually live.

@@youngdoctorcdt Course he could have, this isn't new. I noticed the more of it I watched the more they seemed to use the actual live commentary with Bernie Slaven, and you can tell the difference between that and some of the commentary in the earlier clips, it's like night and day.
@Green Mills You're misunderstanding me. I know what Ali Brownlee was like, and he was never like this live, which is why the first few matches here are really noticeably weird, because he's clearly re-recorded commentary as though it were live after the fact, presumably for this season review, whenever it was released originally. To illustrate my point properly, listen to his incredibly matter of fact delivery of the commentary for any of the matches in the first fifteen minutes, and then skip to 16:30 for the commentary against Man Utd, and you'll see what he was _actually_ like giving live commentary. The channel put up a video of the 04-05 season review yesterday that features his live commentary in every match where you get the true sense that that's just how he was like for *every* match, he was incredibly animated and passionate and that's why everyone loved him, so having him do this weird muted commentary used at the start of this is weird.
@@jonathanb1406 Completely agree. Jimmy Floyd scoring at St James on 36:08. Taking the lead with just six minutes left? Ali would have gone beserk. This has been re-recorded with a more muted reaction.
Credits say Written and Presented by Ali Brownlee, so maybe he was unhappy with the earlier clips in the season? Or maybe there were rights issues and all they had for the start were MOTD clips and they couldn't clear them?
