- Despite this movie having the franchise's greatest scene ever, the battle against the Swan Princess franchise gets no easier for Detective Steve and Ashley, especially with two more sequels excreted within the last few years.

8:25 "Solve everyone's problems"? From what we've seen, Derik is *the cause* of everyone's problems!
Maybe he witnessed Rothbart during the events of the first movie; but it was off-screen so they didn't need to explain by animating the scene :)
Derek is just trying to make himself more egotistical than Gaston.
Except he's not the villain.......officially
No one screws up like Derek.
@@goldenrose4384
sounds like no one screws up like Gaston.
I can understand keeping the power to create and change, but why keep the power to destroy? Unless maybe he'd want to use the power to destroy against invading forces.
The animals faces at 19:54 best describes that scene so well and made me think "my sentiments exactly....." :) LOL
I kinda like the villian song in this.
Aw man this is so weird, the queen dressing up as "The Lady in Black" for the talent show, and Rogers falling in love with the disguised villainess are the ONLY things I remembered from this movie! Except I could've sworn Zelda also made herself look younger and told him the wicked king forced her to play the violin instead of the accordion....
I don't know why it took me so long to find your reviews but i love them! Keep it up :)
Poor Rogers.
This movie series has more convoluted backstories than Once Upon A Time!
+Brandy Loutherback I'm on the second season of that show and I must say - that is a bold statement to make.
+TheDetectiveSteve haha ohhh just wait...its get even MORE convoluted and complicated each season -_-
+TheDetectiveSteve Just wait until season 4 *sigh*
@@superkamiguru4615 um ok😅 QUITE the bold statement
I wonder how long Jean Bob has been training for this obstacle course thingy for? If not very long......how is it possible to get a six pack that quick?!?!? Damn cartoon logic!!!! I wish that logic could work for me too :(
There's very little info on Zelda's actress Katja Zoch except that she's Dutch American, so that's probably where they got the idea for Zeldas disguise.
Yeah I checked her IMDB. As far as I'm aware, this is her only role
Perhaps the reason Odette was able to come back to life, was because she was under the dark arts magic when it was destroyed?
Like destroying the magic kinda did a reversal of its affects, and because she died while under its magic, she got a get out of jail/death free card, and brought back to life?
That's the only thing I could come up with honestly.
Or she’s a demon
Both suggestions sounds good
@@ccstudios1157 her good-hearted spirit would never turn into a demon.
The theory isn't true I say.
@@julieshez387
You’re no fun 😅 i suggest you leave
At least Derek has a nice voice
Nostalgia Critic should give this movie a look.
He did with the first movie
@@supermariof0521 Now he needs to tackle the sequels too.
@@brendanforester4601 Maybe he'll do "Swan Princess Christmas" for this year's Christmas batch.
@@supermariof0521 Yeah, maybe so.
I hope he'll do at least the 2nd and 3rd too.
BTW, wow that was a quick response time.
"give love a try" so....all these times you've said you loved her through all those years you had been married, you were lying to her or something, Derek?
I had no idea either.
Third time she is a swan
I honestly have a soft spot for this sequel, since I was actually introduced to this first. Yeah, my mom got me this one when I was little, but not the second or first movies. It's a decent sequel, and I think it's definitely better than the second one. However, both are definitely inferior to the first movie, even though it's not exactly the best animated movie out there to begin with.
berrypie11 Same story for me. Never saw the other first two movies but this introduced me to them.
Glad to know I'm not alone. :)
Same here.
How would he give it a try aren't they married
Yeah they got married in the first movie.
Fantastic review! Can't wait for the next ones.
Also fun fact: I know Brian Nissen. He's actually a really nice guy.
How old is he?
Diego Bareno He’s 56 now
How did you get the script from the Last Airbender 2?
Why do Rogers and Bromley have a rivalry?
Thank you so much!! I enjoy you two so much that I watched it twice in a row and am still laughing!! Can't wait to see the next two!! Keep up the great work!!
11:14 yeah i mean if it was a banjo maybe there'd be some problem, but an accordion?
For all the things she does wrong as a villain, you can't fault Zelda's acting abilities. Better story, that Little Dutch Girl trick might have worked
10:25 Uh, was Rodgers always earless?
You do very cool reviews
Could the revenant Odette actually be a demon conjured by the notes' dark magic? That would be the explanation that relatively speaking makes the most sense.
It would explain the terrible sequels that followed.
Makes sense to me
I don't think to believe that Odette was never
A demon when she came back to life again in the swan princess 3 since the first movie, it was only a miracle also because she's the swan princess chosen one who brings the age of goodness to the kingdoms of the world according to the swan princess royal family tale so there isn't anything to worry about Odette turning evil with the magic of the forbidden arts her soul is stronger than those odds in the franchise.
@@julieshez387oh good god, please get a life and stop taking fun theories seriously! You’re killing the fun! Leave!
during zelda's song it sounds like gnorga the queen of mean from a troll in central park
You're right they do always resurrect these characters, but in my opinion they did a fantastic job conveying the loss and despair of Odette's death. Especially with the music, I find it to be nightmarishly sad.
The Explosion that it's from the Magical Dome where she disintegrates is at 19:00
I like the first three swan princess movies, the others no good. Zelda pretty hot in this one, i got the collection for four dollars worth the price, saw the first three and it decent.
And then Odette became a demon😅 note: don’t reply if you’re a fun killer AKA people who don’t like theories that are fun and take this way too seriously. Thank you!
A headcannon I love and cherish because it makes the movie more entertaining.
So Derek has been married for a year and never needed to apologize? Not counting when Odette died in the first movie
Odd I thought I had seen this one😅fun🙂
And then Odette became a demon😅
2021
You guys sing good.
Are you going to review any of the animated Barbie movies in the future? I found that some of the older ones were actually pretty good, even their version of Swan Lake.
+Alyssa Kard'ya Capriccio Heard about that one from Ashley when I reviewed the first Swan Princess film. So maybe it will happen someday.
Cool! I'd say the best one is their take on the Nutcracker Ballet and if you're looking for something purposelyfully bad, watch either the Pearl Princess or the Princess and the Popstar. In the end it's all up you though.
+TheDetectiveSteve Here's a weird thought. The villains name is Zelda, and this movie came out the exact same year as "Zelda: Ocorina of Time" for the Nintendo 64.
16:30 At least she tried
There was the additional offscreen women singing "She's Gone" with Rogers, so like the woman said, "It doesn't have to make sense." Besides, there was "Santa's Family" from... Can you guess what film?
Dammit, Derek, you're the literal goddamn Worse! Husband and King/Prince(?)!
I dont know about you guys but i think the franchise would be in a better way if you gave Derek and Odette the forbidden arts. Could still be Swanprincess cause Odette would have the power of change and thus take on the swan form because it's the one she's most familiar with and Derek could use the power of creation to never EVER run out of arrows. Plus keeping it with only one person having one power would keep a balance.
It wouldn't be much of a film if nothing was happening? You mean it would be the second film again.
This was terrific! Good luck with the last 2 they are awful... on a side note I love you two doing reviews together :D
Disney had never created swan lake or swan princess in the 1990's because they want to focus on unique non-fairy tale romantic princess classic movies like the Lion King which it's truly a rare great Disney film in history, Disney could have the rights of every fairy tale books to make real good animated ones like swan lake/swan princess along with Thumbelina, the nutcracker from the nutcracker prince cartoon and the princess and the pea from the unfamiliar 2002 cartoon version so us everyone feeling better
To rely on Disney instead of non-disney studios that made the movies not real rare Disney movies but I guess it did never happened,
It's better than it isn't anything anyway we just see the non-disney movies to give a try and we did that's what matters there's still hope for Disney to make fairy tale romantic princess classic idea movies in the future
On the bright side.
Don't worry everyone we don't have to put up with the swan princess franchise anymore this time since the new Christmas sequel although it's amazingly surprised that the swan princess has returned with the Christmas one along with other next ones I couldn't resist the fun with
Them but when the real final chapter sequel Finally comes one day we'll be free for real at last truly no more swan princess rip-off ever again hopefully all because we couldn't stand any longer with lousy prince Derek in
The sequels as we speak that pea-brain
Unlikeable jerk Scumbag of a son, son-in-law, husband, crown prince future king, friend, father to Elise,
And future father-in-law to Lucus
With grandkids and great-grandkids.
Poor Uberta, William and Odette humiliated by Derek, probably been a laughing stock to the entire kingdoms altogether back then in the first movie as Derek a huge disappointment he has just being one in history unfortunately
So hold on everyone be cheerful about it.
Hey detective steve, does ashley have her own youtube channel?
The intro music is magnificent. I wonder what's its name?
Minor 9th. It's from the soundtrack of the game L.A. Noire.
Thank you)
How is Rothbart no dead
What?
ReconsidAHHHHHHH!
and now once is so out of ideas they've resorted to recycling plot-lines form season 1!
Watch the next one
Do you mean next after this one? That would be Swan Princess Christmas. I've reviewed that one.
Stupidest way to come back ever
2:48-2:52............Excuse me, I have to go play every game in the series that I have to forget that this character exists. :P
Zelda has a worse accent than RPatz tying to be american!
No one has said this but....dayum, Rothbart is kind of a pimp. I mean, think about it; the movie sets him up as having all these easy partners and confidants that he is able to trick and manipulate to bring him goods and powers. The dude it literally a medival pimp. All he needs is a big hat, a gold cane and a fur cape to complete the look.
And yeah, these movies are shit and I absolutely HATE how stock everyone is but going back to this movie I realized something about Derek. His character is weak the movie seems to enjoy making him the catalyst for a lot of the situations that happen and I notice they do them in a way that always backtracks on any sort of growth that he had in previous movies. Derek is only the 'problem' in these plots because the writers couldn't think of a clever way of creating a situation independent of Derek's involvement FIRST which to me is a sign of just how little they cared even about their own characters.
There is a such thing as the protagonist having flaws and I'm all for that, especially when there is a satisfying pay-off when they learn from them but all of this shit piled on top of Derek just doesn't feel right, especially with how wishy-washy Odette is in return. She's the second protagonist in this series yet her vapid INACTION to Derek's vapid ACTION just makes things worse. Seriously, they could have had a plot where Rothbart's mentor or whatever Zelda is coming for her revenge WITHOUT it being the fault of Derek NOT burning what was left of the Dark Arts (tm). Why does this story even need to involve Rothbart at all and why can't Zelda be her own villain with her own motivation? I mean, The Swan Princess is just a fairy tale in how it's been built so there are many thing they could have done to provide a fresh story to this but NOPE. They just had to nearly repeat the same problem from the second movie, including how Derek's incompetence is to blame, even though the whole premises of him just keeping a hold of the DAAAAAARK AAAAAAAAHRTS was something they pulled out of their ass in order to make weak conflict.
There are just so...MANY things they could have done to improve this but it's too fucking late. This movie is old and the new movies they're making are WORSE than this.
And they're worse because they don't have Bromley. #BringBackBromley
Jean-bob and Speed are less funny than in the first movie, Derek is dummer and his song was lame, Huberta isn't as entertaining as before, the chancelier and Derek's friend are useless, Zelda is not as intimidating or smart as Rothbarth. Is Odette the only intelligent character in the franchise?
When she is ressurect, i though '' The heck? Odette is a demon? '' I mean the giant Swan that appeared after the prince burns the papers was weird, what followed comes out of nowhere and surprised me. Either the forbidden arts are alive and can granted humans prayers or the blonde princess is has the power to revive herself after she was turn into a swan again; god this is strange O-O
Well you just predicted the plot of a later movie
hahaha man i love this and yea the movie was preaty shiti but i still like how stuped it was so i like it
