- 📍ALL MATERIALS/TOOLS USED ARE LISTED IN THE BEGINNING OF THE VIDEO📍
****Oversize King Bed Dimensions***
Tufted Headboard:
100" extra wide x 79" tall.
---(I adjusted by an inch to fit through my door)
Bed Frame: top and side of all 3 rails
Side rails 82” long x 12" deep x 12” tall.
Footboard: 100” x 16" deep x 12” tall.
King size mattress, 76" wide x 80" long.
****MATERIALS***
I used 2inch Plywood for all of the below! Get your board cut at Home Depot or Lowes
Items Measurements Quantity
Head Board Plywood 100 W x 79 Tall 1
---Note: My headboard was cut into two pieces in order to equal the above
(96W x 31L & 96W x48L).
To make the frame 100W, I added small pieces (31L x4W & 48L x4W).
I also adjusted the height so it fit my door frame.
--only use this if your board is not already 100inch
Side Rails Top 82in L x 12in W 6
Side Rails Ends 12 W x 12 W 4
Foot bench Top 100 in L x 16 W 1
Foot Bench sides 100 in L x 12 W 2
------Fill in the footboard area the same as the headboard; using 1 of each
4W x 16L ; 16W x 12L & 12W x 4L
------only use this if your board is not already 100inch
Foot Board Ends 12x12 2
I purchased my materials from Home Depot, Walmart, JoAnns & Lowes
--I used between 10-15 yards of fabric
****TIPS****
Purchase fabric using coupons if you're going to a store like JoAnns
--this is where I got my fabric from
Use Upholstery Fabric for the BEST outcome. Other fabric will work but it may tear
Use a work bench if you have it available
Use a nail gun for the frame instead of screws if available
Drape fabric & leave enough to cover the sides before cutting
****TUFTING PATTERN***
--Headboard
10 x10 from edge
--10in in between
Footboard Top & Front
Start at 4inches from each edge (4 inches from top, side & bottom) on all corners of the bench
--then make 8in marks going across
horizontally the space between the top & bottom marks is 13in so the middle button should fall at 6.5in
Side Rails
Start at 2inches from each edge (4 inches from top, side & bottom) on all corners of the bench
--then make 8in marks going across
📍This is explained in detail in the video📍
This is EXACTLY what I was looking for! I'm moving in November and have been searching online for a month trying to see a super detailed video on how you designed everything. Thank you!

@@kenyadacobbins2704 thank you 🥰
Your exactly right. When I built my patio furniture, I bought my fabric and foam from an upholstery store.
Love it 💜. I’ve been wanting to make one for almost a year now. You’ve motivated me.
Thank you! Go for it!!
How did it work out for you??
@@RockStar_Love I ended up buying one 🤣😩. I really wanted a canopy bed in the end. The amount of work I did for an already made bed was a lot! It's definitely time consuming but if you have the motivation you can build it!!
I love it but I’m new to this And I got to learn how to understand measurements I should’ve made sure I was alert in school when I was being taught this 😩
Lol I made sure the measurements were marked where I could remember them so either while numbers or half’s
Thank you so much! I was about to spend a arm and a leg on one of these beds but now me and my husband is going to make one thanks to you!!
Yayyy! Did y’all do it yet?
@@PurpByTheCurl hi not yet. We we move in our new home August 24th once we get moved in we will start on that project. Thanks for asking
I automatically loved this video 10 seconds in‼️✨I said “Okay sis dropping everything to the T” 🤣💕
your tufting method is way easier, better and neater than the ones with the needle. Thanks for the video I will be using your technique! good job
That’s great to hear! Have you had a chance to make it yet?
17 seconds in & I’m already in awe of the details 😅!!!
I’m so upset I built my frame a few months ago with a non detailed video from another CZcamsber basically assuming I was doing everything right but I’ve started my headboard today after watching your video and I’m considering rebuilding my frame thank you so much for all the details you’re amazing keep up the good work
I definitely understand ! I did a headboard before with out details and it didn’t come out right at all! I’m so glad this video helped you 🥰
@@PurpByTheCurl I wish I could show you how it turned out thanks to you loveeeee it and I added lights it’s beautiful I just have to add my buttons I did mine alone as well and yess it’s no joke on the back lol
@@princessw31434 ahhh I’m so excited for you! Yes I wish I can see. You can always send it to me on IG
@@PurpByTheCurl Whats your IG love? I’m so so happy you made this video I looked at 5 different videos none was detailed
@@princessw31434 it’s purpbythecurl and I’m so happy this was detailed. I tried to include everything and make it clear for someone to understand
Perfect 👌🏾❗️This is how you learn, making mistakes and finding a hustle solution to solve the problem❗️💣😉
I’m definitely going to use this to make my headboard in my new apartment! This is greatly detailed and easy for me to follow along with.
Yayyy great !! Im glad this helped you ! 🥰
This video was everything to help me create my bed. Thank you
I know I’m 2yrs late and all lol.. it looks amazing!

Could you have given me the washes and the screw tools you did use? For example link at amazon or something so i could bought it?
Hello I love your mattress. Will you be able to post the measurements for a queen size please?
I believe I posted them in the comments but theres another young lady who built the queen size on here as well with the measurements
You did an amazing job. Well done
👍🏾❤👍🏾
Thank you so much 🤗
Very industrious 🤩I like it

Shawna Dena’ as long as you’re helping lol
Good job 👌🏾
Bad bad chic love it
Good job
Hello, will this frame fit out of your door or down your steps when you move? If not do you think disassembling and reassembling is possible with the same pieces of wood?
Hi I’m in the process of making this bed and your video has been my guide so thank u for that my question is how did u connect the side boards to the head board
Thank u for this video !!!!☺️☺️☺️
You’re welcome 😊
Legend
Very nice! Props
thank you !
I never thought I want to make a bed you give me hope ❤️
Yesss do it!!
Good job babes
How far apart was the holes on the headboard ? Trying to understand this so I can make one for a queen bed 😩 and can I use velvet ?
How did you connect the headboard to the bed, and was it stable?
When adding the tuff screws, once you screw down what are you taking out
My drill bit kept falling out
Purp By The Curl Okay cause yes I kept rewatching lol thank you
Beautiful work! I’m obsessed. Did you leave the screws/washers used to make the tufting pattern visible or did you cover them with something? I see so many upholstered beds with buttons of the same fabric or either crystals, but never screws. I want to recreate this but I wasn’t sure how it would look up close with screws.
I left them uncovered because they look like like silver buttons upon walking up on it. I would suggest covering them to your liking
Hello I really like how you did this lol but my question is your bed a Cali King or King size
Hello. You did an amazing job. Did you cover the screws after you were done?
For the tufting? No I didn't. I was going to cover them but when looking at the bed, it looks like silver buttons
How much fabric do I have to buy there’s no measurement of how much fabric I should get or how much of the mattress pad and other stuff besides the wood
I used any where between 10-15 yards of fabric. As far as the mattress pads, it depends on how thick you want it and the measurements you're using for your bed.
. What’s the measurements if you wanna do a queen size bed ?
I want the circle one bad
What's type of fabric is that?
Great job I would like to try, however what size mattress do you have? I know you said you did an oversized king frame but I want to purchase a ling mattress and wondering if your measurements would work out.
I have a king mattress
Is the mattresses on the floor or are they sitting on something? I plan on building this soon and want to make sure I’m not missing anything
On box springs and my mattress is naturally high as well
How did you get the footboard & the sides to stick together if you get what I’m saying. I see how you made the bed but how do everything connects?
The footboard and side rails aren’t connected at all. So I kept it as 3 separate pieces so it’s easy for me to move around my room.
@@PurpByTheCurl do they move?
With making the side rails and foot rest did u leave an opening ? Or did u close it up ??
I left it open, each piece can be removed from the bed at anytime
Hey, so you bought the plywood and had the people at the store cute them for you? How many plywoods boards did you use to be cut? If that makes since...
Yes I think it was a total of 3-4 boards. The guy at Home Depot helped me to determine how many pieces I needed with my sizing
How much did the fabric cost you?
Can you post a comment with the exact measurements for a king size bed? I’m having a hard time understanding the description. If I have 100” boards what are the exact measurements for the side rails & foot bench?
Hey all of the exact measurements are at the beginning of the video for the boards and king size bed
King size bed measurements I followed that I adjusted
Height 85inch
Width: 106in
can the boxes open to be used for storage?
If you build them that way ..mine aren’t
Love it how much did you spend on it
about $500
Do you remember what type of 2 inch plywood you used??
No I don't
What sizes would you need for a full size bed
I am not sure. I would suggest checking Etsy which is where I found my measurements
Hi, how many sheets of plywood did you purchase?
Check the description
Where did you get your measurements from?
Etsy and CZcams for the basic sizes. I broke all the measurements down myself
Is this price including the bed
If you’re referring to the mattress we already owned that. The price is for materials to build the bed
@@PurpByTheCurl oh okay thank youuu
Can you help me ? 😭
How many yards of fabric did you use.
Between 12-18 yards
Let me find my paper to be sure
How long did it take u to finish
About 3 days
💖💖
Is your mattress on anything?
It is sitting on two twin box springs
How long did it take you
About 3 days. It would’ve been less but my schedule didn’t permit
so um...... how much would you charge to remake this 😂?
lmaoo *insert Samuel Jackson meme* 😂😂
Amazing! What is your bed sitting on?
Ranee Vanderhall two box springs
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰😍😍😍😍💗💗💖💖.
Pls people Tio here if you want to do this you need support in the middle of this benches and on the sides too who wants something to come up beautiful if is not gonna hold and brake easy and fast have in mind how this this wood is people who works with wood know that it will brake easy on sides as well because the nails are to close to the ends so the wood starts opening you can close this with side brackets trust me and the middle of your bench needs support you can make some legs in the middle and every quarter there are so many ways to do you can said ohh but iam not gonna sit on them but trust me now and then you forgot and put your buttocks there or a basket of clothes I sit twice on mine iam 140lb not heavy and it brake and I bought it from a expensive furniture store so I did this and I fix it it only brake from inside too thing 😉
Sir or ma’am please! You’re doing the absolute most. The bed is not going to BREAK - make sure you spell that right next time. Also you should educate yourself on wood to know how it works. Have a blessed day!
