DIY | Building a Tufted Queen Size Bed From SCRATCH!!!!

- Hey Loves! In this video, I will share how I made my own upholstered, tufted bed frame/headboard from SCRATCH!!
M A T E R I A L S N E E D E D:
Batting
2" Foam (Or you can you Mattress Foam...it will be cheaper)
1/2" Foam
Fabric
Button Kit
Nailhead Trim
Waxed Button Thread
Corner Braces
Heavy Duty Top Plate
Furniture Feet
1", 2", & 3" Nails
T O O L S N E E D E D:
Heavy Duty Staple Gun
Electric Knife
Rubber Mallet
Upholstery Needle
Screw Driver
C U T L I S T (QUEEN SIZE BED):
1 4x8 Plywood Board 65-1/2" x 39-1/2" (Headboard)
2 2x9 @ 81-7/8" (Side Rails)
2 3x9 @ 64-1/2" (End Rails)
2 2x2 @ 75" (Side Rail Attachments)
8 3x1 @ 60-3/4" (Slates)
4 2x4 @ 45" (Back Headboard Attachments)

**Before attaching your furniture feet, you must make sure that the rails are flush with the wall....(each corner is at a 90 degree angle)....unless your Queen size mattress will not fit inside the frame!!!**
Attach the rails so that the End Rails sit on the OUTSIDE of the Side Rails....unless your Queen size mattress will not fit in the frame!!!**
These type of beds retail anywhere from $700 to over $1000!!
I made mine for around $250!!
In order to save money you MUST use coupons when getting your materials from the Fabric Store....you MUST!!!!!! Even do separate transactions if you have to. If not, you will end up spending wayyyyy more than you planned! COUPONS are the key to this DIY project!
You can also save money by using Mattress Foam instead of regular foam from the Fabric store....you can easily safe at least $60 bucks by going that route.

I am bummed out that she is no longer making CZcams tutorials for building or remodeling stuff. I wish she would start doing it again. I really wanted HGTV to give her a show.....and why they didn't is beyond me (BTW...I haven't been watching HGTV since she was featured on their show and they didn't want to give her a show. She is so amazing and I really thought HGTV would realize in a HOT MINUTE how talented she is!!

I love the way that you take your time to do it efficiently and methodically. That's really helpful for those of us who have a hard time convincing our "sponsors" (my hubs) that our new projects won't end up half finished or twice as expensive as planned. And the measurements for HD help too!

+toniead210 it's really worth it, I helped my friend make her's and she only spent $275 and we went to price one at PotteryBarn & it was $2500.00!!!
I got a king size tuffed bed off of Brookstone.com for obly 250. But i got lucky because when I went back to the website weeks later it was 550.
ill give you 100 bucks if u do it for me lol
