I like to believe that josh never actually used the plants to generate a blue atmosphere but instead forgot to close the pod's door and eventually it replaced the atmosphere.
LOL why didn’t the devs use vents instead of plants? That would have made it much more enjoyable! Josh could have made the walls entirely out of vents!

The funniest thing about this is that of all the youtubers playing, Josh seems to be the best at actually knowing what the units are.

I know he’s about to build a lot of the same item, he announces just before he’s about to do it, but I’m always shocked at the sheer amount he ultimately ends up with.
I like that the main character of this game is a criminal who got sent to this planet as essentially intergalactic parole, it fits Josh's psychotic tendencies rather well

I love watching this guys approach to gaming... I'm studying game design right now and although at first the multitude of ways he breaks things worried me... but honestly its almost comforting now. Some times I get mad that Josh doesn’t upload that often, then I remember that the reason his videos are so funny is because he does something stupid and leaves it running for 34 hours and then does it again, he truly is a creative genius, I remember the first time I watched one of his videos it was when he kidnapped everyone in his neighborhood in the sims, I hope he does more stuff with the sims since now you can become a wizard or a vampire, imagine what crazy shenanigans he could get himself into as a vampire, Igot Mcdemshoulders is about to go on an adventure

Sure it's got a basic premise, but while Subnautica is more of a horror game in which you come into contact with other creatures and discover the lore and exploring, this game seems more about staying in the general area.

I love that the fall into water just delays your death. I can totally imagine how that code was written. You had a "falling" flag and/or a "fallStarTime" that's not cleared until you contact ground (regardless of how fast). If fallingFor > 3s or something means you die.
Yup. The flag should be cleared when you touch the water, but it's not. Another proof that using flags is almost always error-prone and should be avoided.
This used to happen in Minecraft, long long ago. If you flew around in creative mode for a while, then landed, you’d hear sound effects as if you fell a long distance, even if you only fell one block when you deactivated flight.
@@timicesqzzz2681 A flag is just a boolean, a state. You practically can't avoid using states. Plus, nothing handled by human is prone-proof. Flags, list, strings, etc. Give those to an incompetent programmer, expect an incompetent result.

Nota t all like No Man's Sky, where you can die in a fall. But if you land in water that's at least waist depth, you're OK. Regardless of the height you fall from. :)

This whole video feels like Josh really upped the production level, with just little details. Like the 10:08 smooth transition, then messing up muffling his mouth, etc. Amazing video. Can't believe that it took him less than 2 mins to break the game, more so considering that he mostly explained the game within said timeframe. Thanks for the great content man.

@@jason3114 Yeah RCE takes a lot of inspiration from this channel, especially in these types of games. His Hydroneer episodes seemed to reference this channel in particular.

Edit: in one of the hydroneer videos Matt made, for example, the title was a direct reference to Josh's videos. He may have changed the title since then, though. But I've known for quite a while that Matt watches this channel. And I think Josh is what inspired Matt to push the envelope and see how high you can build, how many of x you can make to "break" the game, etc.
To be clear, I don't think there's anything wrong with that. I'll happily watch both channels because they're both great, and despite some overlap, they have different styles and bring a lot of different things to the table.

this has become my favorite vid so far, just because of that rocket bit.
When you hold ctrl while clicking on the rocket to be build, you stay in the menu and you can build as many rockets as you want and launch them all by hitting the launch button until all rockets are launched. With a Craft from Container Mod I’ve launched around 20 Rockets at once. What spectacular sight it was 😂
Josh, there's actually another useful bug you should know about, I have fondly called it the "Unstuck jump". This happens when you spam the Unstuck button, (f4 on keyboard) and what happens is you "jump" up with no collision, so you can just phase through the walls/roofs of the game, and if you press the Unstuck button again just before you hit the ground, you take no fall damage
The rockets just made me fully lose it.🤣 I was watching this in class and got in trouble for laughing too hard during a biology lesson. Thank you for this. Literally dying as we speak. But we're all dying technically, just at different paces.
