  • Manila Philippines First Impressions - I'm positively overwhelmed!
Video of my arrival in Manila ➡️ • Rough Arrival In Manil...
I have just arrived in Manila, Philippines. What I usually do to get some first impressions of a new place is to hit a big market, a busy area. I heard about the Divisoria Market Manila, which seems to be a vey busy and big local market. The perfect location to mingle with some locals, try some Filipino street food and get some Philippines first impressions. Let's check out Divisoria market Manila! I'm going to stay in the Philippines for at least two months, feel free to join the journey.

Finally you're in my country 🇵🇭. I'm a fan and subscriber since you're Thailand travels. Just be careful with your things in markets like that in Divisoria, every country I guess has a form of thieves, but generally Philippines is safe and pride of being friendly, warm and hospitable. Filipinos compared to other nations are fluent speakers and generally understand English, since Americans colonized our country. Pilipinas by the way is local name of the Philippines. Can't wait your travels in provinces, beaches here are the best.

Welcome to the PH! Some filipinos need warmup when taking/listening English. Speak very slowly first (preferably choppy American accent or Hollywood English if possible) one word at a time. Then you can go full sentences when they warm up with you.
Another point, avoid water and ice from street vendors and small restaurants. Always bring your bottled water.
When you go to the islands, rent a scooter, it’s the best way to explore!

Welcome to the Philippines. I just watched your vlog in Germany where you drove your mom to a doctor, I think, and then proceeded to pick-up the Asian foods that you ordered from Asian restaurants. And then while eating, you described the different foods comparing them to the original country they came from. Honestly, I admire German people for their intelligence and orderliness. I once read that German people have superior brain, having so many great scientists, physicists, the most famous among them of course is Albert Einstein. Our own national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal was an intellect himself. I don't know if you have read about him. Actually he has a statue in Wilhemsfeld, Germany, and also a street was named after him there. He stayed there in 1886 for several months when he practiced medicine in an eye clinic in a Heidelberg university I think.

Philippines comes from the name Philip, after King Philip II of Spain. The original name in Spanish is Filipinas, from Felipe. In Filipino, Pilipinas. The full name was Las Islas Filipinas (The Philippine Islands).
Technically there’s no ‘F’ in the alphabet, but it exists colloquially because of Spanish and English.

Ken, it’s super hard to find Filipino national jersey around divisoria.. jerseys like that you have to go to a legit store in SM mall like a Nike sport store .. so far I only know Football national football jersey at Makati .. if you really want I can buy one for you Ken
I’m from Malaysia, Johor Bahru haha
I’m half Filipino I know how to buy

Welcome to the Philippines! I bet you'll have a good time. Pilipinas on the tshirt is the tagalog name of the Philippines that's why it doesn't have an H. :)
Hope you visit baguio soon which is on the north of the country and has a lot of cultural heritage.

Christmas preparation in Philippines start in when “ber” months start.
With regards to Jersey, you look for “Gilas” Jersey, that is the national basketball team of the Philippines.
Also, Pilipinas is how we write locally.

Try Crispy pata which is similar to German Schweinshaxe but eat it at restaurants like Aristocrat restaurant which is near your hotel in Malate. For dessert try the halo halo. Caution drink only bottled water. Lastly, if you cant finish your food dont throw it away please give it to homeless people Im sure they'll appreciate it. God bless
