I went off social media for the month+ of Lent...I replaced my scroll time with watercolor painting... best thing I've ever done. I'm far more engaged in the world now. Just got back from a 6km hike up into the mountains. Things i didn't have "time" for previously.
This is a great Video. This brings back painful memories which i have been enduring. My relationship of 5 years ended 3 months ago. The love of my life decided to leave me, I really love her so much I canât stop thinking about her, Iâve tried my very best to get her back in my life, but to no avail, Iâm frustrated, I donât see my life with anyone else. Iâve done my best to get rid of the thoughts of her, but I canât, I donât know why Iâm saying this here, I really miss her and just canât stop thinking about her.
I am sorry about what you have been through. I have been through something similar and was almost depressed, till I contacted a spiritual counsellor who helped me get my ex back and hence my life back.
Interesting. Who is this counsellor, and how do I meet the person?
Online, you'll find shelly renee white, revered for her expertise as a spiritual counsellor. She has the ability to reunite couples and promote holistic well-being.
Thanks a lot. I just did. Impressive.
Limerence đI have it too
Gosh this guy is excellent. Please have him back and for longer.
The irony of having even found Mel Robbins and others if not for scrolling, and then being click-baited by her to watch yet another video with "more info." LOL
I listened to her pod cast. I donât watch it.
When Iâm cleaning, I put Mel on.
He is talking about being on your device doing anything that doesnât bring you a sense of well being.
â@@Agangelone we know what he's referring to. I'm referring to the irony. CHEERS! SM is SM whether it's vid, podcast, a Xeet, Insta ...
Stretching, moving, meditating at the end of the day, these are what help me feel relaxed and give me a good night's sleep, or doodling , colouring, drawing, research shows this also calms and relaxes the brain and helps with pain, anxiety, stress also. Build a happy little habit and it grows and helps you become motivated and more present â€
I did the same thing with the Eclipse, twice!! Drove 7 hours to my friend's home and we then drove another 3 hours south to capture 4 minutes of "magic". We also spent 6 hours hanging with butterflies a different day and we hike together whenever we get the chance. Next year the two of us are going to Alaska to chase the Aurora Borealis, ride a train, and soak in Hot Springs. I also walk around my yard barefoot almost daily [earthing] to receive the benefits of grounding and a silent mind. I absolutely love that I have found a way to disconnect from the mundane and absorb the awe of our surroundings and what nature provides us. My anxiety has nearly fully disappeared!!!
I like to wear red, bright pink, and bright colours to the gym when exercising. The colours make me excited to exercise. I love exercising and I love life.
My life has some sorrows like giving birth to a disabled child, having a husband with kidney disease, still waiting for a kidney transplant and me having a diagnosis of a mental disorder two years ago. I had brain surgery 2 years ago changing my mental disorder to one of a having a growth on my brain. I had brain surgery and the tumour was removed. I have changed my life now to one of joy and excitement. I have found colours and taking charge of my life has changed me to enjoy my life.
I live in a small city in Canada where I walk everywhere to buy groceries, live beside a river, enjoy the beautiful countryside and enjoy my lifestyle.
Thank you Mel! And your guest!
â€
Terrific guest. Engaging, insightful, wonderful communicator. A must return guest. Thanks for sharing!
Mel, you can claim you did find your purpose of life!!! THANK YOU đ
my high school niece in Canada is required to turn in her phone at the beginning of the school day and retrieve them at the end of the day is a commendable policy.
Wow where? I'm in Canada but that's not the case here
You've done it again Mel. Great guest, amazing insight from this gent.
As a marketer, I've studied colours and what comes to mind is that colour is often
interpreted very differently around the world. For example, white in Western Society is associated with weddings, cleanliness, etc.; however, in some Asian cultures, white is quite the opposite: it represents death, for one.
You are the best Mel and the guest.â€â€â€
Wow, so red color is that powerful. I need 20yrs back. â€
Greens make me feel relaxed ,Purples make me feel focused but relaxed ,Yellow makes me feel edgy and energetic.Colour is powerful this is why it is used in politics and in authority and in hospitals and institutions. Red can give you confidence ,Blue clams and Greens x
Mel, this podcast was one of your best. The sad part is we wonât know the effects of internet device babies for many years. I see kids who are small enough to be sitting in a grocery cart holding a device with a screen just to keep them entertained.
We do. Theres many reports now coming out and its all.BAD
Thank you Mel and Dr Adam, I'm grateful that I don't have a SmartPhone - my wife does that scroll thing constantly when she gets home from work. I hope that she will watch this and maybe change that empty feeling. There's so much more to life than endlessly scrolling. Thanks for the colour and being out in nature tips too - I always feel better when I walk outside. Now I can see why!
Mel.... I absolutely love your content. You have helped me in so many ways. Thank you for being here and making my day every time I get notified of new content. Stay safe and have a blessed day. đ
The mirror also helps a lot when making sales calls. You look at your self and your attitude changes completely particularly if you are not in a good mood.
You start smiling and the other person on other side of the phone can actually feel it. Which will certainly redirect your output đ
Iâm a big fan of Adam Alterâs work. I will buy every book he publishes because of the work he puts in, to put productivity into perspective. His book Anatomy of a Breakthrough really helped me understand my own approach to creative projects and the challenges we face while trying to finish a long drawn out project. Great interview, thank you
What are his books? Thank you
@@user-bc1bd2cf1e Anatomy of a Breakthrough
This is a great Podcast! I truly miss spending time outside as I've been working for the last many months toward a promotion (that I'm not sure I even want). On my next day off I'm going to clean up my porch and make a cozy spot so I can easily give myself outside time every day. Thank you, I needed this push to take care of my own mental perspective.đł
Don't forget to take a walk outside too. Important to get your blood pumping for good health and GOOD SLEEP!!! đŽ đ€ đ
PS It also clears your mind of all the work stress & increases endorphins, the feel good hormones...

Yes agreed but by scrolling I found Mel. So how do we listen to Mel podcasts it's on our devices!
I live in N ID. For years 1 of my favorite things is to do is set my chair or cot up in a mountain stream and read the Bible. You can hear the sunshine and the peace.
I own a laptop so it stays home. I own a flip phone with no internet by choice. I don't want to be distracted constantly. I do not drive so no need for a GPS. I do what I need with the internet and then shut it down. I only have Facebook and CZcams for scrolling and that is enough.
It seems the world will not be able to survive if the internet was to be eliminated and that is very sad and scary to me...I turn the ringer off on my phone, so no distraction, and only check it when I want to. I don't like it's the ball and chain that it's become. ....people use gps for everything and if they suddenly lost their phone they would be lost. Very sad to me.
This is a smart way to live. I drive but at some point I would love to know my way around without GPS as a goal
â@@lindygatesThis is very true. Majority of people in my age group are constantly on their phones, me included. I want to overcome this phone addiction of mine so bad
That is in compatible with a business or career
I just love your show Mel! You really are a lighthouse â€
I'd be more interested in how color affects our moods
You just have to be thankful for lifeâ€
The internet is addiction to discontent. Which causes
Divine discontent. Never ever satisfied always more & more until emptiness becomes noticeably
boring if you notice at all.
Discipline is the answer by deciding itâs just a tool for
your work, school etc.. DECIDE! Why you utilize it
as a purposeful too. Otherwise your choosing to
dump yourself down. Itâs a choice!!
Thereâs a brilliant film & Q&A on iPhones, 4 billion selfies what we scroll & look at dailyđ±đ„”âïžblew my mind, From the 1st photo, 1st film, 1st iPhones I think itâs called â the Fantastic machine??â
I trained as a colour therapist and that sounds a bit pseudo but focusing on colours and even wearing certain colours ,try this when you are getting dressed for the day be more colour conscious about how this makes you feel .
Wow what an eye opening interview! Many take away learning points for me. Great job Mel & Adam! đ
A very simple solution is for families to take a walk with the kids in the neighborhood after dinner. Catching up on everyone's day & stopping to chat with neighbors and friends! đ§Ą
PS: Leave the phones at home!!! đĄ
OK, maybe Mom keeps hers with, in case of Emergency...
I would travel 5 hours to visit my Mother, and she would just sit there like a zombie on her phone, scrolling, clicking, liking, and commenting. It really hurt, she is addicted to her phone.
I am so sorry
@@lindyvandenbosch9539 â€đ
Get her interested in hobbies maybe plants, good book, knitting book club, gardening??
People who are lonely or disabled donât have much choice.
Plan a simple outing on the day of your visitsđł
Great interview, thank you. Love the way Mel talks, which is clear, well pronounced and slowly. I can follow and understand everything she says. Thank you. He's great too.
Smart phones has saved me from making lists of things to look up when I get home to my computer! Now I can look it up right then. đ
The most beneficial podcast Iâve ever heard because it is something I can do today and possibly have the strongest impact on my life.
Whenever I feel depressed, I reach for pink clothes. Always makes me feel better
Using screens even affects our eyesight, so when we go out in the real world we get headaches or light sensitivity as we've been focused on a light in close proximity. We become short sighted, the literal physical kind, although of course it's also a good analogy.
I LOVED LOVED LOVED this! Thank You, Melâ€
Great Podcast! Everyone needs to listen to this. Thank you!
Iâm due for a smart phone upgrade grade .. and very much considering a â flip phoneâ .. I leave my phone off and at home base most of the time⊠I appreciate the explanation of difference with TV screens, and â interactive devicesâ. Great podcast! Thank You both!
Loved this Mel - so many AHA MOMENTS đ€Șđđ»â€ïž I have shared it with everyone.
This is an amazing episode!! Thank you so much Mel!! We love you!! đ€đ€đ€
Get your own dopamine and peace... exercise, music and nature
I like the mirror in the fridge. I think this would work for me. đ
I've quit drinking but I am definitely a doom scroller!! This is so eye opening, fantastic podcast Mel!
Wow this was fascinatingâŠ.thank you Adam and Mel đ„°
I needed that! Thank you so much. Both of you. Just great!
Thoroughly enjoyed this message!! Thank you so much, great speaker
Amazing, so helpful! Thank you so much đđ
It's so sad that we are almost suffering from anxiety just having the thought of not scrolling a screen in the evenings. And then the same applies scrolling. It's like a vicious circle.
What great information to help me make changes. Thank you Mel and Dr. Adam.
great episode!! def will take the advice i hate my scrolling habits!!
Thank you Mel xx
Wonderful podcast! Thank you!
Started listening to that book- youâre right itâs very enjoyable
I am watching your podcast on phone. Found while I was scrolling. Lolđ
Thank you very much â€
What a beautiful train of thought, thank you both for sharing đđżđ©”đŹ
Thank youuuâ€â€â€
Feng Shui has talked about color for as long as it has been practiced. Pay attention to what color you paint walls in your house
Loved the practical ideas to help yet still embrace the digital life we have. Thanks
Love that you've gotten into ACOTAR â€
Sooo great âŠ. Love this âŠ. So great â€
This is so dangerous- all people (especially at schools) have to listen to it! Thank you for sharing this all important information!
I actually think quite different. Mobile phones are like knives. It depends on how you use them. Might be the case that the more you use them correctly and effectively it will be better.
This was amazing!
I just checked my phone settings and did the math and Iâm now feeling physically sick from seeing how much of my life Iâm spending on my phone!
Thank u mel
I think itâs all about balance. And I think thatâs what they are saying here. I donât watch anything negative on my phone but I know I need to take time away from my phone and get back to nature. Your phone is not âbadâ itâs just all about balance.
That was great đ
God bless Mel Robbins.
Loved it
Awesome sauce â€
I love spending time in my garden!
The mirror thing is very interesting!
This is an excellent interview! (and it's on a screen!)
This is so interesting.
I enjoy knitting and it would be a timeless activity. I know that what he says about feeling empty from scrolling is true.
There are no stopping queues on so many TV series - next episode starts in 10 seconds... You could sit there all night.
This is really interesting â€
I would have gotten behind the âno cell phone on your personâ in the past, but with school shootings and such, if I had a school age child, I would want them to have a phone.
Great podcast. BTW if your loved ones or you end up in a hospital room without a view of nature, bring them a plant! It's the next best thing. : )
What a handsome doctorâ€
Dressing Your Truth with Carol Tuttle has taught me what colors works for me as I walk upon the earth⊠you can find her on CZcams!!! I am a type 1 with my secondary being type 4!!!!!!!!
Colors mean a lot! As a massage therapist for 21 in Iowa!!! I do my best to select massage table sheets for my clients with their colors!!!!
Warm color and cool colors and also color temperatures
Great talk I'm going to need a bigger mirror đ
Hello namaste mel robbins, i am watching from Nepal đ
interesting! I feel my best in my red lipstick!

Curious about the colours. My kids primary school wear red jumpers and the other primary school down the road have a deep blue. So would that affect children too or just adults?
The irony here is that Iâm listening/watching this podcast on my phone.
Waldorf Schools- no phones, no computers
Agree with phones at school they dont need it
Just take it off them or better dont let them have one
"taking a bath in a screamđđđđđđđ
thank you so much for this information I am going to put the cell in the cookie jar for at least one hour a day
Going on to. CZcams channel talking about how bad the Internet is đ
Great topic, Mel! Love your show! Makes sense that stores use mirrors to check customers.
Yeah no need for a phone in school. Wish there be an alternative for kids
I knew I had to get out of the city/built-up environment and move to a little island, where I can be in real nature every day.
