@@jaquezrucker7299 Personal anecdotes aside. If they were able to keep all of the other songs from the movie close to the originals then it should have been the same with this song as well as Precious Lord Take my hand. Further more this is a movie about Aretha Franklin, not Jennifer Hudson. This is why I feel if Jennifer had issues doing these songs or was to emotional to sound the way she should they should have used Aretha’s original recordings. In my opinion Cynthia Erivo did a better job evoking the essence of Aretha Musically. Jennifer didn’t give enough Aretha where it counted vocally and delivery wise.

@@wellinformed2070 jaquez ruker was talking about aretha frankin mother not jennifer hudson u are right that it a little messy but jhud did a better job than cynthia did.But also when jhud sing precious memories it was good but was in tears so as aretha sing precious memories at the end of it she was in tears so it the same so go and see aretha did at the president Obama concert.and also the respect movie starring jhud got 8.8m and genius aretha got none because people saying that she did horrible in the tv show so jhud did very good job people been that she a really good job.
