People seem to forget this constantly, but without the Russians, we'd be missing about 50-65% of our musical culture as Humanity, due to their contributions, such as Tchaicovsky, The Red Army Choir, the very CONCEPT of Ballet, and of course, their folk music.

I mean, the Red Choir, Tchaicovsky, and lots of Russian music are great contributions, but 50%+ is quite the overestimate imo. Ballets had existed for quite a while in Europe before Russian even adopted it, though it's pretty obvious that their contribution was quite a large impact on how we experience ballet in modern times. It's unquestionable that music probably wouldn't be the *same* without Russia, but 50% to 65% *missing* just doesn't seem quite right to me, especially when you consider that a lot of those artists and contributions save for the Ballet stuff wasn't until the 19th century.
