Ok, im gonna be completely honest here.
All these bullshit comments EDM producers get about "The new style sucks, bring back the old style" is unbelievable. I know that some of the choices EDM producers make are a bit one-sided but seriously, just get over it. I started listening to EDM at the beginning of this year, starting with what you guys call "The old Skrillex". Then i got into "The old Knife Party" and Pendulum (yes, now i started listening to Pendulum, long after their time) and some other big names. But so what if they change their style? As a producer in the EDM landscape, you have to adjust to the ever-changing sounds that the public want. Like now its bigroom house (which apparently everyone hates but its making money and views). Skrillex changed his style to Trap. So what? Knife Party changed their style to Electro House. So what? I for one love the new sounds these artists are making and im sure plenty of others love these sounds as well. But those haters out there can keep their mouths shut. You cant handle the fact that they change over time to try new things and explore. Its like your trying to trap them in a box they cant escape out of. But they are getting the new sound out there and i love that. I love the enthusiasm. So just leave them alone and enjoy. Its all for a good time so have a good time

Lovin this Zomboy shit right now for real. I'm *way* more into indie rock, but I feel ur sentiment.. I'd be *pissed* if say, the current indie-pop scene was /errmm/, stuck in the past 9_9 ... or if it was melted down into a narrow definition of what's "pop" or done to death. Styles evolve. Before there was brostep, there was dubstep, and before that, there was jungle, DnB, house... and, what we can say now, was proto-dubstep. move along... now if an indie/alt/twee/grunge guy like me can really dig this shit, what does that say?
