    This is something ive been interested in because i have been underweight for a long time but my facial features are a lot more yin so i believe i am soft dramatic rather than dramatic.

      Listening on headphones also and agree that it's kind of too quiet. You have a beautiful voice though! And it's a very informative, great video.
      To me it sounds like you recorded this in the room with someone sleeping and you're trying not to wake them up.

      As one who doesn't appreciate asmr at all, I would like to be able to understand the words that come from that muffled sound. What's the point of watching a video when it's all just syrupy sounds with no discernible content?

    Hey! I love your videos on Kibbe and other systems, it's really cool to know that your typing doesn't change at all regardless of weight. I love how in-depth you are with breaking down what it is about people you look at in finding their type.
    It's kinda unrelated, but would you ever consider doing quick consultations? I've been told by everyone that I have a very "teen", sort of Maisie Williams kind of face, but I feel like being kinda chubby throws that off.

  • @brooklynsbaby4367
    @brooklynsbaby4367 Před 6 lety +36

    but I have noticed, at least with me, that when I gain weight there are things that used to be flattering but now look wrong even in the right size

    • @Pr0fessorScience
      @Pr0fessorScience Před 6 lety +36

      Same, but I don't think it actually changes what is flattering on me overall. Using me - I'm a soft natural, so cowl necks are recommended for me. They look great on me when I'm slim. But when I'm larger, my breasts and arms gain weight and the cowl neck looks too bulky on me no matter the fabric. Then I switch to less of a cowl, more of a soft drape. So I'm still following the overall rule of wearing draped, soft fabrics that naturally create asymmetrical lines, but I do it in a different proportion to suit the areas where I gain extra weight.

    • @shaskins15
      @shaskins15 Před 6 lety +2

      Exactly...I gain weight unevenly so I have no idea what she's talking about

    • @cupstudios3788
      @cupstudios3788 Před 5 lety +14

      I feel like these “issues” are more just perspective, for example a designer may say it looks more flattering on your figure, but you personally like seeing yourself in something else. That’s jus where you take the information acknowledge its existence and then throw it out the window with your homework that’s due tomorrow but you forgot to do it 🤷‍♀️

  • @tatianagarcia3903
    @tatianagarcia3903 Před 5 lety +4

    Such a great video. I have some extra weight but still find the dramatic classic lines that you talk about in the proportions - the chin, eyes, lips, head and hands size, the overall vertical line that makes me look thinner sometimes that I am really are in size.

  • @Iced929
    @Iced929 Před 6 lety +35

    Great videos, thank you! Any insights on how exercise and fitness can affect your lines? I think I might be soft gamine, but recently I gained some muscle on my back and arms and I see myself more natural-ish...

    • @antiquebeast
      @antiquebeast Před 5 lety +5

      Egret Not gamine myself, but in psc styling a youthful with some romantic. At my thinnest and most fit, I still had a proportionately rounded lower body compared to the rest of my frame. My bust was not as large but still prominent compared to my whole silhouette.
      Fitness made the naturally thin parts of me thinner and slimmed but did not exactly thin the fleshier parts of me. I believe with soft gamine, something similar will happen. The yang parts become more yang, and the yin parts slightly change.

  • @yxtheweird1710
    @yxtheweird1710 Před 6 lety +53

    I have a question - is it possible to be one kibbe type for your face and another for your body? My face is much softer/more yin than my figure but I'm not gamine in my proportions. I took the test, which separated face and body, and for face I typed as soft classic and for body I'm a dramatic classic or soft natural..?

    • @merriamstyle
      @merriamstyle  Před 6 lety +32

      I have a video on just that! It's called Same Face, Different Kibbe Type. Also, there are no specific proportions for a gamine--it can be anything! It's possible to have one kibbe type for your face, and another for your body, but this probably means that you're some kind of gamine, and not only that, that you'd be most flattered by gamine clothing!

    • @julijakeit
      @julijakeit Před 4 lety +1

      I am the opposite, I have pretty petite but longer looking limbs, soft muscles and fleshier arms, long thick hair, small waist, soft curves which would make me almost romantic yet my face is pear shaped, moderately muscular with wider bones, yet I have soft moderate nose, smallish, droopy eyes, some photos resemble Gracy Kelly a lot, some more of Keira Nightly. So I always go for more Classic looks as it neither compliments nor distorts my overall look. Maybe I am classic, who knows.

    • @yasmeena745
      @yasmeena745 Před 4 lety +2

      @@julijakeit depend on your height. If you are rather tall (taller than 164) you´re probably a soft natural. Or you can be soft classic if abit shorter. Because you dont sound like a romantic (smaller eyes, longer limbs). In case you are rather short (less than 160) you are gamine !

    Thanks for this video! I do have a question though...did I miss the discussion of weight with naturals or were they left out entirely? I’m less than 5 feet tall with curves, and natural feels true to my Kibbe type. The hard part is finding examples of folks my height who reflect the type. If anyone has ideas, please share them!

  • @forgotmyun
    @forgotmyun Před 8 měsíci

    Being overweight does make it harder to type though. Due to my height I can only be narrowed down to 3, and out of those 3, D is out. That leaves me with SD or FN. I do currently have that spare tire thing (buried underneath some prominent violin hips, that’s where the weight gathers) still an hourglass underneath it, though less defined now. Im leaning towards SD but FN is still a possibility.

    Thank You. Im overweight now 106 kg after childbirth. I am soft dramatic but it is now 'too sexy' for me - may I go for soft naturals? my face and makeup is very ok in naturals. In soft dramatic like eyeliner and hair like Sophia Loren I look very good buy I dont want to pay attention of men and dont have time to do my hair so volume everyday... Personally I try to combine this both looks soft dramatic and soft naturals. If I will loose weight to my normal 70 kg I look good in 80tees soft lines for Soft Dramatics... How to make Soft Dramatic less sexy- this is my question, maby Sombody have some ideas or inspirations by celebritis? thank You! Agnieszka from Poland

    • @merriamstyle
      @merriamstyle  Před 6 lety +3

      You would be soft gamine, not soft natural. If you don't have natural bones (mostly B answer bones), then you wouldn't be any type of natural. Why do you think you wouldn't be soft gamine?

    • @merriamstyle
      @merriamstyle  Před 6 lety +52

      Same lines, not same styles. ;) Also, another circumstance may be that when someone loses or gains weight, they feel like they don't look as good as they used to and that the clothes that used to look great on them look 'worse.' This doesn't mean that they are now more flattered by a different Kibbe body type's lines.
