  • 1st part of the modding of the my redcat everest 10. I'm really liking the amount of customization you can do on this truck and in this 1st part I add hub extensions and change the links positions to lower the truck's center of gravity and make it more stable.

I got an Everest 10 too, I took out the black plastic clips on the shocks it helped it get a bit lower. Also took a Dremel to the nubs on the front axle for more steering angle. Looking forward to seeing what you do next!

Since you asked: I have 18 Redcats and they're all fully custom. (wow, do I really have so many?) So let's see and I'm sure I'll miss something: Two tricked out 16th scale Tremors (pre-Volcano16) that are 6 years old, still running and look like new: Three all custom brushless Ground Pounders, one as the Ground Pounder, one as the Amsoil team truck, and one as the Grave Digger. (brushless, engine sound, sway bars, custom air shocks, wheelie bars and lights): A stock 3s TRMT10E basher, (awesome by itself and it's a Team Redcat): One pretty stock Blackout brushless suburban, I've gone through 5 bodies but the truck won't break: Five all metal custom 10th scale Lightning cars: One as a 1969 Camaro Z28, one as a 1978 Trans Am Blackbird, one as a Ford GT, One as a Zonda exotic, one as a 1972 Pantera, and one as a somewhat stock 3s Redcat Lightning. All run 3s with gyros, and various motors. Most motors are Toro 4-pole 4900 KV racing motors which turn over 54,000 rpm at 3s. A couple are 5400 KV racing motors that theoretically can turn just shy of 60,000 and go 100mph. All the cars are fully metal, except for soft plastic body posts, (except the Redcat Lightning, it still has it's factory plastic chassis and electronics) with custom polycarbonate bodies and custom paint: Two 10th scale all metal/ one nitro/ custom Volcano monster trucks: One all metal custom nitro Shockwave buggy. And one giant 5th scale all metal custom Rampage that runs on gasoline and weighs almost 60 lbs. (over 2 grand and 100hrs for that baby): Oh, and a Gen7 Everest pro fully stock rock climber, with a LIPO. And that's 17. Most all of them run 3s, and gyro's with a unified Radio Link transmitter that runs them all and stores them by name. Almost all have engine sound, which is really cool as well. I never listed them all before and that's a lot. All are Redcats and all are really top shelf and kept in "like new" condition. Batteries are all Atomik Venom 11.1 5000's or bigger, 35c or 50c. And one Hexfly 11.1 hard brick 30c. The best batteries money can buy. And I almost forgot, a brand new Volcano16 and I'm working on that now. That's 18. If you add in my Gool 16889A, and my Hosim X07, that's 20 even. Plus construction equipment.
What do you want to know, other than am I crazy? What can I do? I run them, break them, improve them, make them really go fast which causes me to break them more, and I wind up fully custom building them because I make them really go fast and they have to take a crash, and I wind up collecting them. I keep them in perfect shape so rarely does one get thrown out. Multiply that by years and years and years. My favorite? Easy, the Grave Digger/ Ground Pounder. Over 40 companies supplied parts for her, and she took a whole year to build from concept. And she is just gorgeous.

I’ve got one, after about 200$ in mods after purchase it is the most reliable/capable rig in my collection! Love this truck. Insight for future mods would be shock keys first to stand up the shock angle and reduce torque twist, and get better tires. It will totally change the truck. Mine has Traxxas 21t crawler motor (from the trx4) and hobby wing ESC. plastic transmission gears were the first thing to fail so they got metal upgrade, wheel spacers and tires…. She’s a winner man I can’t find trucks that crawl better… even my 500$ TRX-4

What a great truck. It looks awesome and from what I can see it's easy to modify and repair. Nice work buddy. 🏆

Hey it really was a nice truck with plenty of ways to mod it. Sadly I had to relocate last year and due to the amount of luggage my family and I had I just couldn't bring my RCs with me. Hence the reason for no new content in a long time

@@mace2gorc872 That's kind of sad. We really get connected to our cars. Hopefully you can restart your collection with some of the new products out there. The Losi Lasernut has been something I have really wanted but I just cant see spending that much money right now so my next purchase will probably be a crawler and the Everest 10 just seems like a logical choice. It would be my first crawler ever so I'm excited about that. Hopefully you will get your channel going strong again. Best of luck.

I have a Everest 10 and took the foams out of the stock tires. It has more contact with the ground and crawls better now.

Gen 7 sport and gen8 v2. Might pick up a Everest 10 and over-motor it. Rock bouncer style!

I was surprised by the quality and performance of the gen 7 pro. Good stuff.

They are so fun when done like this, I put a regular brushed 21t Traxxas crawler motor in mine and it’s WAY to much motor for it lol does flips from a stand still… it’s is so capable after about 200$ of mods it isn’t even fair to all the expensive “scale crawlers”

Those axle spacers are way to long. Added wheel scrub, which is very hard on the servo.
