    Love watching your videos esp after a cjc one as you know those guys install your product daily and have great content. I really want a springed rear as the ride quality is so much better but I ideally need a 3500 for a camper. Will the carli pintop system and new leaf pack make the ride comparable to a stock 2500 with coil springs?

    • @thecarlisuspension
      @thecarlisuspension  Před 3 lety +3

      Comparable, yes but the coils will still win in shear ride quality. The 3500 with our long travel airbags (NOT the Auto leveling factory airbags) will be the best setup as you get a fantastic on-road and off-road setup with the capability to haul to the trucks' full capacity blowing the doors off the coil sprung 2500 when it comes to hauling capacity.

    Great video thank you, I didn't order my truck with this option because it was not certain how much weight that system would return to level with. I emailed ram countless times trying to get the answer and all they would say is the system will level to GAWR. My fifth wheel is a bit heavy on the hitch for a 2500 and adds 3500 lbs to the rear axle which is overloading the axle but not my tires. Can you do a video testing these limits of the air system?

    • @thecarlisuspension
      @thecarlisuspension  Před 3 lety

      We have no choice but to stick to Ram's spec on this one. Same reason, we designed the system to maintain functionality and load capacity but not increase it. 2,500lbs will max this platform, 3500 will exceed it. If it's that heavy, I'd recommend getting the 3500 with the air assist as they'll support twice what the 2500 will.

    • @codynelson3517
      @codynelson3517 Před 3 lety

      @@thecarlisuspension 3500 DRW will be best i agree, but 3500 SRW is only rated at 7k lbs. While American axle rates that axle at 10k lbs in the DRW configuration. I want to see someone actually max or exceed these values to see what the truck will do so someone doesn't waist there money on a system that won't perform.

I want to put 35 inch tires and want to level from the front or also ok with 2 inch lift all along. Would running the truck in alternate trailer height be a softer ride since there isn't as much air in the bags?

    • @DanTourino
      @DanTourino Před 3 lety +1

      The alternate height only works with a load on the rear. To answer your question, yes, it would rise slightly softer when loaded in the alternate height. How noticeable it would be likely depends on how heavy the load was.

    • @DanTourino
      @DanTourino Před 3 lety +1

      Just a track bar kit... The factory rear track bar sees WAY less load than the front so an upgrade wasn't necessary.

    • @thecarlisuspension

    The road you drove the truck on for the video looks like its smoother than my commute home in Pennsylvania.
    Im curious why the air ride trucks ride worse than coil springs. That seems very counterintuitive.

    • @thecarlisuspension
      @thecarlisuspension  Před 2 lety

      Airbags ramp hard and are short travel thanks to this ramp. Coil springs are far more predictable and linear in their spring ramps pairing much better with high-end shocks and making them FAR superior when encountering larger obstacles.

  • @deedub529
    @deedub529 Před 2 lety

    I ordered the 2.5 level kit from CJCoff road, I have the air suspension. The only thing that was included was the links to add the 1" for the sensor, no spacer or bump stop upgrade. How can I just order those two missing parts? Or do I really need those?

    • @thecarlisuspension
      @thecarlisuspension  Před 2 lety +1

      The bump drop and spacer are what shift the rear suspension position for optimal performance; they're absolutely necessary. That said, our system for theat truck with the Fox shocks has not yet begun shipping so i am not sure what you ordered unless it was a non-air-ride kit. I get the travel restriction problems that are encountered when pumping the air bag up more. What I don’t understand is why the pressure in them would be more if the truck doesn’t weigh any more.

    • @thecarlisuspension
      @thecarlisuspension  Před 2 lety

      The pressure increases as the PSI increases. Pumping them up more means higher PSI. You're increasing the air-spring rate while leaving the chassis weight the same. This results in a stiffer ride.

    • @stephendeklerk2479
      @stephendeklerk2479 Před 2 lety

      It’s counterintuitive for me to think that a bellows will provide enough elastic resistance for PSI to increase. I can make my truck available to your factory if you would like to run some PSI and spring constant tests.

      @@noosh8316 The line needs to be drawn somewhere... There are too many configurations of these trucks and outliers like 2500 and 3500 with Gas motor and air suspension won't be large enough markets for us to meet the minimum order per year, per part number for our proprietary programs with these shock manufacturers. That said, we'll have the Hemi Valved Kit and the package for the rear air suspension available to make the system; the shocks just won't be perfectly tuned to the airbags in the rear.

      @@DanTourino Dan thanks for the reply, yes I understand was just curious. Obviously you can't make specific systems for every single buyer out there, so that is helpful to know that you could take the front system for a hemi truck and combine it with the rear air ride system, but the rear shock tuning will not be perfect. Thanks. Yes, as an example I am sure for every 10 air ride compatible 2500/3500 suspension systems you guys make, less than even 1 buyer for that kit would have a hemi truck. Maybe even only 1 out of 50 or 100 guys would be Hemi owners compared to Cummins with the rear air ride/assist suspension option.
