    Nice truck! I have a 2022 3500 Ram HO Diesel also. I had to do nothing with correcting tire size or TPMS. Probably because I have the Limited with Uconnect5... But Anyway, the speedo calibrates automatically from the GPS and there is a setting in UConnect for tire pressure setting all the way down to +-25 PSI, Front and rear independent. Threw 35" x 13.50 Mickey Thompsons Baja Boss (F Ply) on it and checked Speedo, Went right on the money a few miles down the road. I run 45 psi front and 30 rear unloaded. Running full Thuren Leveling kit with Fox Shocks on mine and rides great!

    • @Longslyde1
      @Longslyde1 Před 2 lety +1

      @@apristretto9521 tows perfect IMHO. With the F Ply tires, it does everything a stock truck would do. I pull a 24ft bumper hitch flatbed with a tractor on it and I don't even feel it back there. I had a half ton to do that and it was white knuckles all the way lol. The thuren leveling kit does a great job smoothing the ride from the front. You still know it's a one ton truck, but it's more behaved. One thing though, don't put the Thuren leveling kit in a truck where you want to put a pickup bed camper in or anything the dramatically raises the center of gravity. It will get a little tippy without the added support the stock sway bar gives you. Anything else (5th wheel or bumper hitch) it is not noticeable. 👍

    I just found your channel two weeks ago. I appreciate the videos because I have basically the same truck without the Ram boxes. This is my first truck that I bought last year to pull an RV. I have a couple of question. I also have the factory air suspension but I’m wondering what I can do to soften the ride on a bit. I was told I could get Thuren coils and a good shock. I don’t have the money to do a full blown lift but I’m just looking to better the ride. I will be putting on some Toyo AT3’s in a couple of months which I’m hoping will be better than the original Firestones. I love the possibility of the wheel balancers but are they only good for oversized set up or can you run them on stock specs? Any information to help out a new guy is appreciated. Your truck looks great.

    • @RockyRohde
      @RockyRohde  Před 2 lety +1

    Hey - I've followed all of your build and think this one is the best! Nicely done. Quick question though, did you have to relocate your spare tire with the Carli kit or were you able to get around it with the BDS items you used?

    • @RockyRohde
      @RockyRohde  Před 2 lety

      Thanks! You do not have to relocate spare with Carli kit. Simply remove tank to drill holes for radius arm drops then reinstall. I keep my spare.. I know if I have a flat I can use it on the front in emergency..

      Carli trackbar, 3.25 springs, radius arm drops, and radius arms if you want to spend money for looks…
      PMf 3.5” blocks with 2.5 degree taper they will custom build takes about a week.
      Used bds rear lift for air bags. You can order just the rear it comes with u bolts and air bag pedestals and 3” blocks you will not use. You can use the 3” but when truck is loaded with trailer the back end will be low. 3.5 is perfect and gives truck about 3/4” rake. Order the bds fox shock kit also but tell them the rear shocks need to be the next longer set. The ones that ship with 3” block only have about 1.5” up travel..
      Sulastic shackles make the truck ride better than 2500. Go to sulastic website and order them.
      The truck will ride good and will be setup for hauling also. I installed the Kings and removed them. If you plan to run the Baja then reservoir shocks are needed. I will not be purchasing reservoir again as last two sets rode more stiff than I care for. Hope this helps.. I have towed toy hauler 2500 miles in one trip and anyone that rides in my truck cannot believe it’s a one ton.. also keep in mind tire sidewall.. if planning to run a 35 need to go 18-20 wheel. Stay away from 22” wheels unless planning to run a 38… if your going to run 22s just buy a cheap lift and put in a air seat lol… these are the things I have learned from building multiple trucks. Again this is just my opinion and everyone is welcome to have one. This is what works for me!!

I have a 23 dually now rear air assist and im thinking about basically doing what you did minus that extra inch spacer in the front. What do you think i need for a spacer in the rear to match the carli 3.25 front springs. I cant remember how much spacer was under my last trucks bags.

    Thanks for the info. Nice set up. Looks like you have quite a bit invested in your rig. I basically have the same truck, Longhorn w/ALRS. I just want to give mine a slight lift, maybe 2-2.5" and smooth out the ride. I drive mostly County Roads, rough, so it's a kidney buster. I do tow a 5er with a GN set up occasionally as well. So I'm looking for an in between set up. Something to give that back end a smoother ride and a modest lift that won't short the capacities. Looking to put 35s on it. Any suggestions on what suspension kit to go with? Thx!

    • @RockyRohde

      Sulastic shackles is a must… they will make a major improvement if you have a 3500 with leaf springs.. All brands will work.. stick with 2.0 shocks or shock extensions.. reservoir shocks will stiff in the ride on a hd truck. Progressive springs and adjustable track bar. The best ride is possible when you use radius arm drops.. without you are extending the arms and moving axle back. I have a lot of peeps ride in my truck and can’t believe it’s a one ton. The other thing to remember is 18"wheel rides excellent, 20" is ok, 22" and up will be stiff unless 38" tire or larger.. hope some of this helps..

    • @rossagge
      @rossagge Před rokem +1

      I would use Readylift full coil replacement level on the front. The rear just needs a block kit and 1” or 2” traxda airbag spacer. The sensor is attached to the top cap on the spring. I have used all the high dollar kits before.. if you want a 100% kit bds will sell complete and is a good kit. If your not planning to Baja in the desert don’t put stiff reservoir shocks. I have been happy with shock extensions, rear blocks and full coil replacements for best highway ride.. If you want to replace shocks and spend the cash fox 2.0 or Bilstien will do..
