  • The Best Marker Pad Ever, Ohuhu New Marker Pad
As most of you know I love to use markers and colored pencils combined to create art, marker artists all over the world are always on the look out for the perfect sketch pad with paper capable to withstanding marker ink. Paper that is not going to bleed through the paper onto the new couple of pages below or produce featuring making line work impossible. This new Ohuhu Bleed Proof Marker Pad is by far the very best paper in such a format that I have ever used.
Also, Ohuhu have very kindly offered only The Art Gear Guide viewers and subscribers a promo code that will give you 10% of any product you order from the Ohuhu website, the code is ArtGearGuide10 which you add going through the payment section. The code will last until the 21st of June 2024 and I do not get any commission at all this is just a treat for you guys which I would like to thank Ohuhu for.

As always guys, thank you so much for your support I can’t tell you how much it means to me. You can of course support the channel by simply watching my videos to the end, reading the viewing the content on The Art Gear Guide and leaving comments along with likes, all for free, you have nothing at all to give and in return I am constantly giving away amazing art sets, free giveaways open to everyone no matter where you live in the world, I pay for postage.
If you would like to support the channel financially, of which all money goes back into buying art supplies to review and improving the production value etc, you can subscribe to my Patreon Channel. For as little as $2 a month you get access to many tutorials, colored pencils, marker, watercolor, pastel, mixed media etc. You can of course subscribe more than $2 a month, as much as $15 per month, but that is up to each individual and I set it at $2 because I wouldn’t everyone to gain access. Ive not added a tutorial in the past few months but I am working on a fantastic Absolute Beginners Guide to colored pencil artists and this has been so widely requested.
Finally, if you would like to follow my day to day personal life and get to know me and my family a bit better, you can click the links below and follow me on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, I also have a Threads and TikTok which if you are on those platforms I’d love to see you over there. I am always adding work in progress images of the art projects I’m working on, photos and video clips of my Siberian Husky Koda and occasionally my family.

Hullo Harry, I just gotta say this is wonderful Marker Paper! So good for the price too! I have their mixed media paper pad and it is nice and for the price it is exceptional. I like 100% cotton papers, yet most are hard on marker nibs! I use card stock for most of my alcohol marker art but since I started using marker papers I am not using much card stock! There is a real difference and after you experience good marker paper you will not want to go back. Thanks Harry with this video, it is another video where you have once again given us a real good look at this product, Thank You!

Definitely going to try this. I've used Schoellershammer marker paper for many years now, that's been around for decades (the first marker paper was released somewhere in the 1950's already). The downside of most of these marker pads is that they're very thin, 75gsm and the thicker ones sold as marker paper always seem to be smooth Bristol paper and not really marker paper. This looks like a great solution. Thanks for the review.

Yes Benjamin absolutely right. When I very first got into art and I bought my first 36 set of Copic Ciao I didn’t know enough about paper and I kept buying marker pads like the Daler Rowney, Winsor and Newton and Copic pads all very thin paper as you say 75gsm. At the time I didn’t know about Bristol Smooth paper and kept thinking how can artists sell marker art on such thin paper. I can remember asking on a CZcams video almost 9 years ago now, if anyone knew of thinker marker paper to which some mentioned Bristol Smooth. Shows you how thick I was at the time, I thought I had to get the paper from Bristol until I googled it 😂😂😂 I’m glad I didn’t ask anyone online about that 😂😂😂.

@@TheArtGearGuide you learned a lot in all of these years 😄 This looks better than Bristol though, since it has those proporties of a marker pad that makes blending more interesting.

Sent to soon wasn't finished typing!lol. But Ohuhu letting us have a discount for a whole month is so nice! I'm curious Harry how that paper would work with watercolors!🤷‍♀️🤔🤷‍♀️. Thank you for sharing! Will be awesome you start showing your coloring skills and to teach us something that we might not know! I don't think we ever get tired of learning! I know I don't!🤷‍♀️🙋‍♀️🤗💞🙏🕊🙋‍♀️👏👏

Hi Tammy, no this paper would be terrible for watercolours, because it has that thin film on top to allow for the ink to sit before being absorbed into the paper, watercolour paper has to be the opposite, very absorbent. If I get a chance tomorrow I’ll do a wee demonstration and show you what I mean

Hullo Tammy, I have used the Mixed media pad from Ohuhu and it is a nice pad and it is so reasonably priced too! There are better more expensive paper pads out there, but it takes watercolors and pencils and yes even markers all in one paper. It is NOT watercolor paper but it will work.

I haven't tried this one, but have you tried Rendr paper? It's been the best paper for alcohol markers that i have ever tried and the paper is really good like this one. No bleed through.

Thank you so much for the review, Harry! I've seen another brand that did this kind of marker paper but I didn't really like the way they seemed to grey out the colors. I like the way this one works. I have Ohuhu markers (as well as some Copics) and I really love alcohol markers so I'm excited to try this!

@TheArtGearGuide That would be wonderful!! I have one printer of each type of "ink" mentioned above and I'm looking for different papers for alcohol markers and pencils that I could print my coloring pages on. I feel a lack of information about printing when I see paper reviews and is really difficult to find some that could work with printed pages for us that do colouring and not drawing.

I would love to see you review the Bee Paper Company Marker Paper and their white Bristol paper, I tried them out and thought the marker paper was good for blending I was also able to use acrylic markers on it. But the Bristol paper blew my mind, I basically tried every media I have on it and alcohol markers were amazing on it, it didn’t bleed through at all so you can do a alcohol illustration on both sides, not only that colored pencils were great, watercolor pencils, watercolor in one layer , watercolor markers, acrylic pens, Brusho, but it didn’t matter how many layers of alcohol I used and it would not bleed too other side.. anyway I guess I just wanted to know if it’s as cool as I think or if you would need this paper if you had that paper? I’m not sure what is cheaper. But maybe the bee Bristol paper would be a good option for beginners in multiple medias.

So I’ve went to look at the front of the paper pad I got,(IT DOESNT SPECIFY THAT IT WORKS WITH ALCOHOL MARKERS BUT IT WORKS LIKE THIS OHUHU PAPER WHERE NOTHING BLEEDS THROUGH), I’ll write all the info that’s on the front…BEE PAPER COMPANY PROFESSIONAL SERIES (picture of yellow leaves, blue background. Design by David Vala)
Neutral pH, 2 ply Laminated sheet, Textured Vellum Surface, Professional Artist Grade, Hard Surface Allows Easy Tape Removal After Masking, For use with Airbrush, Pencil, Crayon, Pastel and Watercolor, 9x12in. (22.86cm x 30.48cm). 100 lb. 265gsm. 15 Sheets
AND THEY ALSO HAVE LOOSE LEAF MARKER SHEETS THAT WORKED WELL FOR ALCOHOL MARKERS BUT NOT MUCH ELSE, I WOULD LOVE TO SEE IF YOU THINK THEY ARE WORTH IT OR ANY GOOD OR COMPARIBLE TO THIS, IVE NOT FOUND ANY OTHER REVIEWS ON THE PAPERS IM MENTIONING.

Oh I am going to have to look for this paper and try it out. I think so many new artists have no idea the importance of the paper they use, how the surface they use can increase their ability etc. so I love trying as many new papers as possible and help me as a reviewer build up a knowledgeable base of not only colored pencils, pastels, markers, art accessories but also paper

So it’s funny you asked me this, I’ll be making a video in a week or so showing you the different paper and paper sizes that I will be selling prints on. All prints will be fully archival, all Gicleé prints and on high quality paper one of which is Hahnemühle.

But….On the drop down box depending on where in the world you live, if you click on ‘sent from Asia to The Rest of the World’, …then it is showing as available and in stock.
