Can You Beat Fallout 3’s Mothership Zeta DLC Without Taking Any Damage? (in text form)
Because there are no level requirements or recommendations for Fallout 3’s DLCs, I started from the very beginning, named myself Allen as in Allen the Alien, assumed the role of a perfectly normal person, walked to dad, spread out my SPECIAL points amongst everything besides Endurance, birthday stuff, my dad’s chin is big enough to land a plane on, and I did something incredible, something I’ve never done before. I picked Energy Weapons as one of my skills. I normally don’t put any points into that skill, because it’s worthless and anyone who uses Energy Weapons is also worthless, but science believes that light travels faster than a bullet in space so I had to play it safe. Then I ended a bunch of people, escaped the Vault, got my way point, and headed north.
Normally I’d ignore pretty much everything as I make my way towards the start of the DLC. This time, I decided that if there was anything along my path towards the North, it would be okay to stop and investigate. I’m going into the DLC at level 2, having a few extra weapons wouldn’t be the worst thing ever. Before long, I found a weird ship in the ground. I knew exactly what was coming but it still hurt on an emotional level that I couldn’t see what items that body had. I’ll tell my grand-children of this day, I’ll fight back the tears as I fill their ears with tales of the corpse that got away.
I set my max health to 1 so that any damage of any kind will end me, and got caught in a tornado. It was a shade of blue so it also might’ve been a hurrycane. The strabismus I had surgically corrected many years returned like a phoenix freight train like a… a.. a big burning thomas the tank engine. I briefly woke up to see three green guys talking about me as if I wasn’t even there, that was very rude of them. Then Mr Prickly stuck his finger in my eye socket, and the world was white. This was payback for making fun of blind people a few videos back. It wasn’t about poking and prodding around my insides or about experimenting on me by having mechanical slugs crawling into my body through my belly button, it was about making me see what the blind people see so I could understand the error of my ways. - Hry

The main story is a poorly paced idiot plot; all complexity and ambiguity was stripped out of the side-plots (Quarians/Geth, Genophage, Cerberus), with some truly desperate retcons and arsepulls; level design's at sub-ME1 levels; the whole game lacks the strong core aesthetic of either of the previous games, ending up instead with a sort of Call of Duty meets Star Trek the Game (which completely clashes with the outright goofy SFX for biotics, fire, headshots, etc.); and animations and sound design are so bad I genuinely wonder if they were finished. Finally, the one big "objective" improvement (the combat) I actually like less. Making everything so scaleable makes player gravitate towards really boring, one-note optimal strategies (i.e. 1 gun only, all armour pieces doing the same thing and spam some 2-button combo every half second).

@@spencerdrumm2151 Except technically, Vengence is powered up by Big Guns, not Energy Weapons. So you're good, you're not using any "Energy Weapons".
It's all fun and games until someone breaks out a six-crank two-shot laser musket. Each fully charged blast has a very large chance of turning anything you hit with it into an ash pile and any long-range sniper build using it was essentially god so long as they have the ammo to accommodate.

@@dinah9463 I did it with lots of mods frostfall made cold weather a theart and disabled fast travel hunterborn required me to skin animals with a knife to get pelts realistic needs and diseases forced me to eat drink and sleep or suffer as well as loot and degradation which made it where weapons and armor lost there temper levels when used and if over used without repair they broke on me the only thing I had going for me was the apocalypse spell pack which added hundreds of spells and scrolls but the npcs had access to them as well needless to say after the challenge I had more of a drinking problem then before

A reversal run, you start with max skills and whenever you level up they all go down 5-10 points. Eventually you end the game with no skills.
He already did a Fallout 3 no skills no perks run.

I played 200 hours of Skyrim before I heard about arrows to the knees. So yeah. Turns out when you don't give a crap about NPCs and only play the storyline once before loading it down with mods you never notice the guards.
You'd need degenerates like you belong on a cross and patrolling the mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter for a real challenge.
Basically can you beat NV while avoiding every NCR and Legion soldier outside of combat. XD
Just turn the dialogue volume down to zero.

I got the gauss rifle early in the game and I live that baby. I killed my first deathclaw at level 12 with that baby.

That's a LOT of quicksaves/loads
That actually sounds impossible.
Even with luck 10 you won't get the stranger often enough, it will effectively be a kill nothing run with way to much loading.
He's beaten the game without killing anything so he could probably do this

Mothership Zeta is worse to do at higher levels. The enemies have absurd scaling, but the weapons and ammo they drop obviously don't.

energy weapons are the fookin biz
The only time I've ever enjoyed energy weapons vanilla were the gatling laser and alien weapons of fallout 3, and my current New Vegas playthrough. My current playthrough of New Vegas with the Project Nevada mod is using energy weapons and the mod makes them badass. They're actually accurate now and I'm getting 1 shot disintegrations/melts from sniper rifle range using un-upgraded laser/plasma pistols while at level 2

I just find there’s less of a special feel to energy weapons, plus the way fallout games start up for a casual player.. regular guns and ammo are plentiful whereas energy weapons are there, but slower to repair a decent one along with the slower ammo finding for energy/MF cells.

That's odd... it's scripted to happen everytime. Certainly happened every single time for me, anyways...
There’s a chance this event was happening as the player was looting nearby, it’s deffo scripted but not in the sense that you are bound into place and made to watch.. or even more likely it just bugged out for some.
You may have been looting, or left the area before you were made aware of the event. If so, that's probably why.
