I just learned about John Portman for the first time in my 55 years, by catching an hour long show about his architecture on PBS. to say his work, from the Hyatt in Atlanta on is visually stunning is akin to saying the Mona Lisa is a pretty good picture. My mouth hung open for the entire program. The genius of his work, the absolute artistry of his creation, in the scale that he worked in is mind-boggling. I'm not an architect, but I can appreciate Beauty and functionality. Clearly John Portman was a master of both. I'm looking for more videos of his work now, just so I can see those incredible images again...
