    Don’t worry about gear indicator and rev counter. 1 you should be looking at the road and not your display screen. 2 if you don’t know what gear you are in then you should not be riding.

    The bike is great but after 1,5 years and 10,000 km, I have had some minor issues. Broken clutch cylinder (very common issue with 701), leaky break reservoir cap (also very common) and air in the break fluid. They were clearly saving on the manufacturing costs here. Also an after-market exhaust / slip on is a must have on this bike. Oil and fuel consumption are super-low though.

    Thank you so much for pronouncing Husqvarna properly!!! I think people who say husk-UH-varna are my biggest annoyance in the motorcycle world.

    Great review. I own one too and love it. Your review hits the mark on every aspect though. Personally use mine for inner city riding and i find it to be perfect for that use. Definitely avoid long highway rides.

    I have the enduro version. If you look at one for its off road capabilities it’s incredible. As a supermoto I still think it’s better than most people’s home built supermoto but it’s still not the best road bike.

    Ive ridden /owned bikes from 1984 in all weather all year round. from choppers , Superbikes, 3Ltr trikes to Ducati 1100s hypermotard etc etc. This is my 3rd Supermoto but 1st ever KTM or husky (701SM 2017) . haven't had it long but seems flat at low revs compared to XR650R (un-corked SM) . Already have changed can to Akra and better air intake system, Evo map. Will change the final drive gearing to 15/42 soon as I think this bike def needs it. I think this bike is way too high geared as standard. Colours are prob the worst thing about this bike but easily changed. Hope Acerbis will bring out plastics soon. Why did Husqvarna make the wheels black ?, A nice set of spoked wheels should stand out imo like the KTM ones. I like the lack of instruments ,it keeps things simple. Overall I think its a good bike for fun. If i could change only one thing it would be to put the fuel tank up front , and get rid of the bulkiness at the rear

  • @agentstarkk
    @agentstarkk Před 4 lety

    Everything you said is spot on. My biggest gripe is no tachometer. But otherwise it's a nearly perfect motorcycle.
    How difficult was it to apply those wheel graphics? I'm thinking about getting a set.

    • @WheatMillington
      @WheatMillington  Před 4 lety +1

      The wheels stickers were a ball-ache to apply. The result was less than stellar, which annoyed me at the time. But the truth is that no one sees the tiny creases and imperfections, and it really doesn't matter that they didn't go on perfectly.
      Don't let the difficult application stop you from doing it.

    • @WheatMillington
      @WheatMillington  Před 5 lety +1

      I'm short, 1.65m. The bike would be fine at your height, as long as you're confident riding a tall bike. It's light and very easy to handle.

      I'm also interested in the 701, however my dealer told me to wait. KTM will release a new sumo in 2019, you will probaply see it at eicma. The prototype has already been sighted during testing look into it. It's probaply going to be the better one of the two, if only for the KTM dash.

    • @narubi9
      @narubi9 Před 5 lety

      For longer rides, It's actually comfortable until like 120 km/h. Going 120-140km on a highway is uncomfortable but doable for shorter rides with breaks in-between them. Going over 140 km/h is just plain uncomfortable on this bike and your hands will hurt from the vibrations after like 5 min. 220 km/h is BS.
