    Love the tweed sound! I think we all like it because all of the music we listen to was played thru them. We just want to replicate it

    Nice one Danny, I found out that the speaker plays the leading role in that sound. Replace it with any other design and they can sound dreadful. One thing for shure they do need to turned up almost full(clean up with guitar volume) to get them sounding best. Thanks 4 the viddy.

      @@DanMmusic haha, we always want another, for sure🫠 I have a cool story about an amp I just got back from Josh Scott, after about 14 years. Have to share it with you sometime or on CZcams. Blessings and thanks for the content, I’m a fan!

    Great video! I’m trying to learn as much about tweed amps, and fender amps in general, while waiting for an amp build to be completed.
    I’ve been playing for almost 30 years and never really spent time learning about amps. I’ve been trying to remedy that for the last 2 years and can’t believe how little I know!

      I built a 5F11 with a 12” swamp thang. It’s loud as hell but I almost zero breakup even dimed with a humbucker. It is an awesome sounding amp to my ears.Not sure if maybe I did something wrong.

    From an electronics perspective, it seems that the big change between Tweed Era and later amps, was that Fender added negative feedback to the power stage. Tweeds have no NFB. BTW, it's not hard to add a NFB switch to a later amp: this on its own doesn't give you exactly the "Tweed sound", but it's a useful variation to play around with.

    Question: I have a 1994 Fender Tweed Bronco. Solid state. Very similar to the Champ. It's the same size and look. I love it. How would you say they compare?

    • @DanMmusic
      @DanMmusic  Před rokem

      I'd say they are similar in the size of the speaker, you're going to naturally get a smaller frequency range just based on that. But the early tweed amplifiers have a very distinct breakup that's pretty hard to replicate with solid state.

    TBH I've purchased two just cuz of the fabric 😬😬😬 And then I ended up ripping it off and putting my own fabric on and also replacing all the tubes😬😬😬 Btw--may be getting at ya for gigs later. You sound so good as per always.

    Tweed is not a sound. Its just the tweed style covering of box.
    Sound is in the hands.
