Pretty sure Garunix doesn't care about whether or not the card being destroyed to meet the trigger condition of its 1st effect was in your possession or not. Even if player red controls it, blue is still technically the owner of the card in question. I am also pretty sure that the rulings database for Garunix supports this.

for garunix the monster needs to be on your side or in your hand. it can be a opp monster on your side. that will trigger garunix if destroyed

Since the wording uses "your monster(s)" instead of "Monster Card you own", not only the destroyed monster has to be in your possession, but it also has to be treated as a monster by the gamestate.
For example, a benched Arvata destroyed by MST would not trigger Garunix, nor an Arvata stolen by a Change of Heart then getting destroyed on the opponent's side of the field.

@@CSCH69 this is incorrect. You can destroy something with Garunix (summoned for example by Promethean) in your Deck, then have a 2nd Garunix Special Summon itself because a FIRE was destroyed. It has to be a FIRE monster in your "possession" even if the "owner" isn't you.

At 20:00, couldn't krum chain his sp to banish kirin and n3sh sp so he has enough bodies to make Princess? Don't think it helps the situation at all, but think it may have been the better play

Bystials are good vs the pure snake eyes . The reason is bc u can banish i:p or kuriboh . Plus if u play bystial anyways u activate ur engage and they are really good vs the rogue decks too
