You're definitely too young to remember this, and even if you weren't, most people don't know that Super Famicom (Family Computer) was the original, Japanese version of what became Super Nintendo in the US. When I lived in Japan in 1989/1990, it was all about the Famicom.

We had one of these! We bought it and didn't really know what it was as the craze hadn't really taken South Africa by storm but when it did, we already had been playing it since 1991.

Perhaps I should learn how to repair them and reselling the junk ones.

Chrono Trigger is arguably one of the best JRPGs ever made. My favorite SNES/Super Famicom title by a mile. If you like JRPGs, do whatever you have to to play it. Amazing soundtrack, too.

First off, great video. Makes me miss Japan immensely. Secondly, you said Osaka probably has Super Potato, and yes it does. That's their HQ and where they originate from. The Super Potato in Nippombashi (Den Den Town) was/is the main location. At one point there were 6 of them in Osaka. The prices at all locations have risen dramatically thanks to resellers and price gouging.
Finally, I had no idea you guys were so young. All that traveling makes you look much older than early 20s. I feel like an old man when I see people refer to PS One as retro, or barely remember it. My first console was the NES.

1:48 I’m sure those are the Gameboy Light, essentially a Gameboy Pocket with a backlight exclusive to Japan, hence their $160 price tag! Btw I’d have had to have that Celebi advance, it’s a lot of money but compared to eBay prices, they’re good! Great video guys :) I’m visiting Japan for the first time in November and I’m just hoping I can control myself in shops like this 😂

I think dreamcast was made by sega. And wonderswan are quite rare in the west, but you should bought one ,because not only can you play the system horizontally, but also vertically for games like 2d plane shooters. It has good games. The screen maybe a bit dark, but for its time it was revolutionary.
