Not only is your shop well organized and pristine your entire place is Gardens, duck pens, yard, everything You should be very proud I try to watch all of your videos Thanks
That's cool how you make something simple look so elegant. I could watch you work all day.
Got to really love your work sir. Very clean and simple.
Your precision with "brute force" methods is amazing. Clearly you've invested a lot of time into developing the tools, procedures, and most importantly experience that make such precision look "easy." Great videos.
Moving your way soon, just north of Coos Bay....hope to stop by some day. Nice work as always.
Always my favorite.
Rigoni iron works.
If I had such a sophisticated tool ... I salute you, boss ... I'm from Indonesia, a blacksmith lover

Excellent work!
sir your work is so beautifull ❤❤❤
Enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
How clean and good his videos are😍😍
It looks simple 🤔👍
a knife looks simple, but simplicity and the skill required to make something simple are worlds apart. Especially if its made well.
Bravo

Esselente muito bom
I always follow your video. I like blacksmith too much .. I use makeshift tools

I wish I knew what kind of steel all of your tools were made of
I try to add that info in the description. Typically 4140, h13, s7, a33 or mild steel/sometimes case hardened.
Please continue to make videos,
Yessir! My plan is video work for a bit then back to production runs.
@@rigoniironworks your videos are very inspiring and informative for young smith's like myself
You good boss I salute brooo
What are these used for?
hi, your work is amazing. Can you tell me what steel do you use to make the hole in hot steel ?
thx, and keep going !
thanks, h13 for the punch, mild steel for the bolster, usually.
@@rigoniironworks Thanks.
h13 steel ? I don't know it. You need to quench it ? Or just in with air ?
H13 is hardened in still/non moving air.
Cool , where do you get you short hammer eye drifts or do you make them?
I try to make all my tools.
Ok then
What sizes is on that beautiful swage block?? & are they tapered holes or simply straight?
Sizes are around 2x2 or 2x3. Holes are punched both sides so slightly hourglass.
Rigoni Ironworks oh wow
Was wondering if I could have had it recreated on a waterjet.
Yeah no prob, it would do the same thing just file the interior edge/corner to smooth.
What is the release goo that you use on your hot tools? Thanks.
I bought it from: "Quick and Dirty tool co." Works great.
@@rigoniironworks Thanks!
Are these mild steel I’m assuming?
yeah they don't need to be tool steel.
I’ve used beeswax and agricultural graphite for years. What is in the tin? I’m too old to read it. Thanks!
Case hardening compound. "cherry red" is the brand. Replaced kasenit couple years back.
@@rigoniironworks ok now I am confused. What is being hardened? Bolster, tool, or both? Using it as a release lube? I have made and used many bolsters. Never saw a need for case hardening. Cause me to understand please.
@@rigoniironworks still wondering about the purpose of case hardening compound. Thank you!
What are the bolsters used for?
You put them under your work when punching. That lets a drift/punch go deeper, into the hole of the bolster.
@@rigoniironworks Ok, that makes sense. Thank you.
Et pourquoi?
c'est pour les yeux de marteau à la dérive
