Instead of folding all of the bags back, cut the bottom off a 48 ounce yogurt container and use it like a funnel. Saves a lot of time.

Are these the rod and reel setups that the outfit provides or are they setups that you brought?
A mix of both. George brought the electric reels. Fish Baranof does have good quality rods and reels for rent. Mostly Daiwa I think.
Do they provide the jigs on those boats that you take our on your own ?
They have some tackle for sale but best to take your own.

Love the episodes but seems like people think the scents are always catching the fish when fish were being caught b4 these products were made. I've caught tons of beautiful big fish without it.jyst saying

Going there on July 13th and renting a boat from joel! Any tips or pointers?
Joel has a complete operation. He does have good rods and reels for rent but you can take your own. I'd be inclined to bring my own reels and use his rods but either way is good. Bring plenty of tackle. There are decent tackle shops in Sitka but prices are high. If you go out for halibut pay attention to conditions. There are halibut inside as well.
