Remember the so-called "Shovester" modification that a lot of guys were into? Shovelhead jugs on a Sportster lower end. It always seemed like too much work for too little return, other than maybe to say you had one, but what do I know?

How about setting a set of flathead barrels on an ironhead sportster case just to see what lines up or not.

not even close. lots of welding and machining. then you have to deal with those valve locations and angles. go buy a k-model and save all the headaches.

5:1 compression?

maybe even 6:1 if you are lucky. big ass cams make up for the lack of compression.
