I was in my 20s in the 80s and that was the decade to be alive! I saw most of the big names in concert, bon Jovi was a big one! The girls went crazy for Jon, not realizing he married his high school sweetheart and wasn't interested in them! BJ, hope you're cool with this...Asia, you are beautiful!

Bon Jovi was my first concert in 1987. I've loved them since I was 11 years old. I'm 48 now
I love this one! Its up there in my top three of theirs, the whole of New Jersey album is amazing, so is Blaze of Glory, its a great Young guns movie soundtrack done by Jon and one of the best soundtracks ever done IMO!
Richie didn't play guitar on Blaze of Glory. That was one of Jon's solo projects and he played the acoustic and Jeff Beck was on lead guitar

You Want to “Make a Memory” is an amazing non-rock ballad of theirs. It does not get the credit it truly deserves
There were a LOT of rock bands writing power ballads in the 80s. It was like a rule or something. You HAD to have a power ballad on your album. Few could do it with the with the consistent greatness that Bon Jovi could, however.
It was a formula to sell albums. Record companies wanted bands doing at least one ballad. That's part of the reason why Night Ranger broke up before getting back together again.
My favourite Bon Jovi ballad. It is so powerful and just imagine how strong the love was he was singing about. My fav song reaction by my fav CZcams couple. I love you guys. You are so cute and you make me smile. ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Richie Sambora on background vocals and they always throw in a key change. Love it even if it is a "cheesy rock ballad."

But after looking at streaming totals from across all platforms in various countries, it's consistently the #1 listened to song from New Jersey and a top 10 song of theirs overall. In some lists, top 5.
I guess I'm just so used to the Prayer/Bad Name/Wanted hype, that it seemed that way. All great songs, but I feel like IBTFY is kind of on another level than a lot of their work. Catchy like most of their tracks, but additionally beautifully arranged, soulful, and deep.
Richie's blues style shines, as well as their superb harmonies. Jon shows a lot of range.
I don't know. I guess I'm wrong, and just a fan of the song.

It's a great song. I wasn't trying to be obnoxious or snarky. Bon Jovi has a lot of great songs, but yeah, it's usually Livin On A Prayer, You Give Love A Bad Name and Wanted Dead Or Alive or now It's My Life.
You should listen to the live version when his lead guitarist Richie Sambora sang this one. So so good. Give it a listen...you'll love it. ❤️
