No, Asia got it right. It’s about someone in a relationship, and is in love, and that person questions if their partner feels the same. It’s that distrust, and that fear that your heart is going to get broken. Sometimes you can feel it, that your instincts are telling you that they’re not really in love with you.
No.....not in my interpretation. The woman is in a relationship. But she's cheating with the "singer". And the "singer" is in love with her. And is asking her all these questions. And is afraid she'll choose to stay in her current situation rather than be with him, the "singer".

Back in 2005 when Hurricane Katrina hit the bass player Rick Savage auctioned off his powder blue leather jacket from the 1988/89 MTV Awards, I won it for $1000.00 USD ! Kept it all this time away in my closet!! Loved Def Leppard since 1979!! Of course Rick Savage has been my favorite, met the guys 12 times!! ❤❤ Of course seen them 28 times through the years!! ❤🤘
My first ever cassette was Hysteria. Listened to it hundreds of times. Its a press play and walk away. No need to cherry pick, all songs are great.

I had borrowed the cassette from a classmate for the weekend and wore it out!!! I literally wore it out. I had to beg my mom to take me to the store and buy 2 new cassettes, 1 for him and 1 for me! Wore that one out. Then I traded an rc car for a cd player in 87 my parents tried to talk me out of it.. wow, the cd was a masterpiece! No regrets. Dolby was good but the cd was great.

The two albums Hysteria & Pyromania has some of the greatest rock songs that resonate even today. One of my all time favorite groups.
I loved Def Leppard growing up and I still love them and while every song they’ve done is amazing. This is my absolute favorite.

I saw them in 1983,opening for Billy Squire. Rick Allen still had 2 arms and they blew Billy off the stage.

This song will always remind me a highschool friend i had "Bobby". When this album dropped, Bobby's girlfriend worked at a popular fast food place that specialized in burritos and tacos.
When he and I went to visit her restaurant one eve to get some grub and such she took her break to come sit with us, and this song was playing in the restaurant, and as she sat down, he sung the lyrics to her like serenading her - loudly too - but adlibbed the lyrics to:

I used to have this thing going with my boss back in the day. I was 16 she was 30. But she was the most beautiful thing i ever saw. We was obsessed with each other and trying hard to not let anyone know. She eventually transferred to a different location becauze of us. I used to listen to this song and think of her non stop.
I think I was maybe 10 y/o when Hysteria came out so I was far too young to really feel this song. But it was still one of my favorites from that album besides the title track. And “Pour Some Sugar On Me,” of course. This is still a great album

I think the song is saying how we all tell little lies to try to make love happen, even if it is just lust. Love and the wanting of love can cause delusions.
The album that this song comes from , this was the #1 hit from that album . Pour Some Sugar On Me was #2 , Animal & Armageddonit were both #4 hits I do believe , Woman was at #6 & the lowest ranked single from that album was the title track called Hysteria which was at #10 in the top 100 count down back in 1987 .
I was 7 years old when this song came out and MTV played the video daily back when MTV stood for its initials!!

Everybody thought one of the lines was bringing me to Germany, When it was actually bringing me to my knees. I remember being in high school buying some music magazine the came out every month to put the words to each song in it just so we could figure out what he was singing. It's so cool to see people younger than me (I'm 50) Genuinely Enjoying this music. Def Leopard still does not get enough credit.

Not a huge Def Leppard fan but think they’re very talented. I love this song. Kind of a clue into a man’s mind and what they’re really thinking but don’t always express.
I think it's him worried she's thinking of someone else. And I always thought the line was "... I don't want to be there when you decide to FAKE it..." NOT "break it". - To me, that makes more sense. Sometimes these people make mistakes that put together these videos where it's just the lyrics. I've caught mistakes in lyrics with other videos. I'm not sure on this one, I haven't looked it up specifically, but 🤷♀️ Great album regardless and a constant in my collection when it came out when I was in high school ❤️

Ugg this song. I remember when it was new. A little over a year after graduating and my high school sweetheart was cheating. We're going to break up, not break up Idk then this song comes on one and triggers some amazing make up sex. So, we decided to stay together. The lyrics fit my point of view at the time. I look back with regret thinking we should have ended it then because we broke up a year later and had to go through it all over again. It's a great song though.

I think it may be a little of both actually. My favorite line in this one is "When we make love, do you look in the mirror? Who do you think of? Does he look like me." Basically a classic example of hooking up with someone you could really fall in love with, but you're not sure you can trust them. Perhaps BJ is right. It happens a time or two and you get jaded. You start being suspicious of any new potential relationship. It could be the person in question just has some serious red flags.

My take was that the guy is in love with her but she is either cheating on him or wants to cheat on him. She is mentally with another person while they are intimate and one line states "it can't be love when you throw it about" meaning it's not love if you give it away to other men. The name of the song is "Love Bites" which, I take to mean Love's a Bitch, Love Sucks, or Love Stinks, three other songs. It's also sung from the perspective of the man in the relationship. I'm not saying that the woman really was cheating or it was his paranoia, so don't assume that I am taking sides, because the song is his point of view. Now I can be convinced that it's not a song about an unfaithful female partner in a relationship, but I would have to be convinced. I would need a pretty reasonable alternative synopsis of the lyrics.
