    just came across your channel. It's good to see someone talking about mh. I'm bipolar and got pip on the first go. With the help of an adviser here in Glasgow. Now I get adult disability payment which comes from social security Scotland. I recently had a brief review. Good work deeanna. Best wishes. Mark.

    I would add to this that someone with severe anxiety, they should look at the mobility question planning and following journeys. If you can't leave the house without someone accompanying you ( because of severe anxiety) then write it down. It counts.

    Thank you for this helpful video. It gave me a lot to think about and make notes about. I've tried and been refused twice. I haven't tried for a few years now however and my difficulty is that I'm so inconsistent. I can do a lot of things when in work but not without a huge struggle and this takes its toll on me personally meaning I'm exhausted, in pain and often don't eat or drink or do anything but exist. As I am independent in work (even though I often skip lunch, struggle to focus and have needed access to work support, and can have meltdowns here too) I scored 0 for everything.

    • @DeeannaLouise

      @@kayleeranft1937 my best advice is to go through the process and even if you get rejected twice, take it to tribunal as majority of cases win at tribunal. Mine was one of them.

    Thank you so much talking about the mental health side of things. I did struggle to answer on the mental health side of it. I put down as much information how it effects me. Hope to see more videos. Can I ask do the assessors ask how would the pip money help you? What do you intend to use it for? I have really bad sciatica as well as mental health. I am on quite abit of medication which has side effects and it is effecting my work I am off sick at the moment. I wanted to have acupuncture because I have heard it's really good for headache and sciatica.

      You're welcome, please feel free to subscribe for more mental health videos. To answer you question in my assessment they didn't ask excatly what I'd use the money for but pip benefit is to allow someone to access accomodations that would aid their health, mental or physical. This can include transport if you need taxis, acupuncture or chiropractors. I hope that helped.

      @diamondzz19 That's DLA in my experience they were more interested in seeing my diagnosis. To be fair I am amazed how many get Enhanced without a single diagnosis. I can't drive and yet get low mobility whereas I have seen people who can, who get Enhanced.

      Thank you for uploading this informative video about PIP. I have my PIP review very soon and I’m not looking forward to it. This video has been very helpful. Thank you kindly. Also, because of my anxiety and PTSD, when my anxiety is triggered, for instance, when I’m trying to eat my food, I don’t chew my food properly, eating too quickly in one go, and I don’t sit up straight because my anxiety is distracting me from concentrating on eating, and often I choke on my food. Last year, when I applied for PIP, after failing to apply for it for so long, when the decision maker read my form, they said, regarding my choking episodes, well, you didn’t call an ambulance did you. So basically, having regular choking episodes when I’m anxious and paranoid at times, causing more anxiety, because I’m anxious I might choke on my food, because I have many times before, makes eating and drinking difficult most of the time. But the decision maker didn’t understand that, and marked me 0 for eating and drinking. Plus, I have problems with acid reflux, and IBS, which causes stomach cramps, and abdominal pain, and bloated stomach, because I don’t always eat and drink when I should, due to depression, fatigue, anxiety, and bouts of paranoia.

      @@lg5819 I highly recommend going to tribunal if your claim gets rejected again as I was awarded my claim this way. Many claimants don't take their claim to the tribunal but in actual fact a lot of claims that go to the tribunal will win. It may be daunting but worth it.

      @@Cararara1987 you're most welcome, because the pip form is very much accommodated to people with a physical disability, it can be hard to know how to answer the questions for a mental health condition. There's little to no guidance online about how to answer a pip form for mental health. If it helps, I also spoke to citizens advice about my personal circumstances and the person I spoke to was very helpful at prompting me more specifically.

I hope this helps 🙂 Best of luck and don't be afraid to go to tribunal, I went to tribunal and got awarded my claim, I think a lot of claims do get awarded this way.

    Just had my UC health assessment video call, it's identical to PIP both done by DWP.
    But both different not same. Can you please tell me ? Should I apply for PIP as well?
    Sick and tired of Universal Credit even though you are sick and have sick notes, they're still bombarding you with appointments, to go there 10 miles journey and threatening you with sanctions. please help what should I do

    • @DeeannaLouise
      @DeeannaLouise  Před 11 měsíci

      you should consider PIP, it won't be an easy journey in terms of the time frame and assessment as you have to prove a lot. May I ask, is you illness chronic and not going to get better or be cured? If so you should get the UC health assessment and if they deem you as having limited capability for work and/or work related activity you should need to attend appointments. This is from my experience anyway. As soon as I was given the limited capability for work and work related activity I wasn't given any more appointments and I just used the UC journal to talk to UC.
      PIP can be helpful if your health condition affects your living or quality of life and you have costs related to your health. As I said, it won't be an easy journey to apply for it, but its certainly worth considering. At the end of the day, it's fully up to you as to what you do and what you apply for, but this is my best advise.
      If you would like to discuss the options with someone who has more professional knowledge, I recommend contacting citizens advice.
      I hope this reply has helped and I hope you have a good rest of your day.

I don’t get my diabetes medicine or setraline any more because Ive got 3 years worth in the cupboard.Don’t go out, except work. I physically harm myself burn/cut, purely because it keeps my brain busy. Can’t budget, either. Basically I got 0 across the board because everything was physically related. Please seek help and don't take your life. Things do and will get better. I believe in you. As someone who's lost someone to suicide and also felt suicidal myself I would strongly encourage you to get some help.

      I would like to think so. Make sure you describe your feelings, emotions and fatigue in detail. If you would like I can make a video talking about these and prompts for the PIP form?

    If you have Mental Health issues and a diagnosis you should be entitled. If however you simply have no diagnosis and only your word then you should be assed by a professional

    • @DeeannaLouise
      @DeeannaLouise  Před měsícem

      I semi agree with you and yes in an ideal world this should be the case however I know how easy some mental health conditions are diagnosed and how hard it can be to get others. So yes it should be the case that if you have a diagnosed mental health condition you should just get it but I think this would mean that some people would fake having an easily diagnosed condition just for the money. I think this would ultimately take care and resources away from those would truly need it.
      You said "if you have mental health issues and a diagnosis", how do you think this should be assessed by PIP if at all?

    • @paganartisan
      @paganartisan Před měsícem

      @DeeannaLouise Firstly I would loan the money for the diagnosis, only to be paid back if unsuccessful. Too many people on Pip have no long term disibility. I also think it would stop people going abroad. Tax is about to go up so working people will be looking to blame Benefits. Just my opinion.

      @@paganartisan this makes sense, I'm always curious about what others think because there are so many opinions. I personally think that if a person has a diagnosis this should speed up the progress and make it more likely to get PIP but not guaranteed. PIP as a system say they focus on how it affects somebody and not the actual condition. However I feel the people assessing the claims aren't trained enough or they don't have the understanding to fully know how a condition might affect someone. I feel that PIP needs to look into who they are employing as assessors because I've had assessors that quite obviously don't understand the condition or will pick holes in your statements until you say something that they can use to say you don't need PIP.

    • @paganartisan
      @paganartisan Před měsícem

      @DeeannaLouise No they are not trained. Just because you don't have your PJs on and make an effort does not mean that on other days you may not even get dressed or wash.

      @@DeeannaLouise yes. they think formal complaint does not apply to judges and the only way is "appeal" . they cause more waste of time unnecessarily. organisations work for money. I need the expenses back . and dwp needs complaints too for causing trouble to go to tribunal unnecessarily

    What I as a taxpayer don't understand is why as I never caused your alleged mental health disability then why should I work only for the government to take a percentage of my wage and give it to the workshy?

    • @DeeannaLouise
      @DeeannaLouise  Před 9 měsíci +3

      People with mental health conditions aren't workshy. Most want to work but feel unable to. Also alleged? Personally my mental health condition is diagnosed so I don't see how that is alleged. Also I do work, part time but I do work.
