Do you find taupe color is versatile enough to go well with most other colors and outfits, inklusive all black outfits?
I am debating between sandalwood vs taupe colors as I am looking for a neutral yet versatile shade that will be a good alternative to my black bags.

Yes! I’m not a big black bag person. The taupe looks really good with black. Sandalwood while beautiful I find to be rather “hidden” against black.
