Some info on what your Arts Ed audition day might be like!
This one you also apply straight through their website and they don’t ask for much information.

Please note: This is purely based on my audition experience, anyone else may have had a different experience & it is bound to vary year to year

I love this video so much!! Thank you xxx
Olivia Greenhalgh Ahh I'm so glad! Thank you X
Urgh I want to go to Arts ed so so much but it’s just so competitive! Thank you for the vid and well done for your recall that’s AMAZING !!
Hey! Thank you!! Defo keep trying :) it's one of those I think you kinda have to have a perfect audition day because they see so many people! My Recall Audition vid will be up soon and good luck X
this is a really late comment but i’ve heard that the musical theatre audition is so much more competitive than the dance audition is that true?
Was the dance routine hard you had to perform and did you have to be very flexible in order to perform it well, I’m look to apply there in a few weeks!
Jess Xo Hey! Sorry for such a late reply! Don't worry about flexibility - I'm totally not flexible at all and I really used to beat myself up about it but as long as you have good technique and they can see you're pushing yourself you'll be absolutely fine! X
Hi! What contrasting song did you choose for your audition? I can't make up my mind!
Thank you!
Federica Tornaghi Hey! So they ask for a Legit and then a contrast which could be anything really! I did an American uptempo but you could also do a ballad :) it’s just about singing different vocal styles! Stick to your strengths and pick a song that you love :)) best of luck X
What type of styles were the dances they taught?
Millie Henderson Hey! They were Musical Theatre Jazz :) in my first year trying it was 20th Century Fox from Smash so quite fast, mambo steps and jazz. In my second year it was Forget Your Troubles I think and was slightly slower a bit more lyrical and traditional jazz! X
For auditions what would you say is the basic dance stuff you need to know?
Annabel Wright Hey! I’d say pliés, tendus, kicks, double pirouette, leaps - for the exercises and then a combination of a few of those for the routine, hope that helps! X
AUDITIONING FOR DRAMA SCHOOL thanks soo much. Xx
Best of luck! C
My ArtsEd audition is next week and I’m just wondering if it matters that my song cut is 1minute 7 seconds and not bang on 1 minute. Probs being dramatic haha x
Freya McMahon Haha yeah that’ll be absolutely fine! Best of luck X
How did it go!!
Was this audition for the foundation course?
Issy Sutton This is the audition for the BA (Hons) Musical Theatre course :)
Audition for Emil dale
CJSouthway Currently at Urdang but I’ve heard fab things about Emil Dale!
Where are you off to in September?
I'm going to Urdang!
AUDITIONING FOR DRAMA SCHOOL awesome! I auditioned there! As well as Laine, Bird, GSA, Arts and MV!! But I’m going to MV in September after a couple of hard choices
Ahh amazing! Congrats :)
AUDITIONING FOR DRAMA SCHOOL Enjoy! I know so many people going! Hope it’s the right place for you!
Jacob Young Are you a strong dancer?
What song did u sing for your legit song?
Hey! So I sang Goodnight My Someone from The Music Man :) I'd really recommend you pick something that shows off your range and doesn't "hide" anything - yes it's harder but they wanna hear all your faults as well as all your good stuff so they know how trainable you are! X
@@auditioningfordramaschool1168 AH thanks for the quick reply. I have been looking all day for a song but was struggling to find legit songs that suited my voice or that I actually liked, so I was looking for inspiration! I have my audition this December!
Naomi Yeah legit is a pain if you're not used to singing it!! I completely failed in my first year auditioning and then made that my aim to get way better at legit for my auditions in the second year! Practise practise and you will get stronger and more confident up there trust me!! Best of luck with your audition X
@@auditioningfordramaschool1168 yes same here! I didn't do my best in my singing audition last year so I have been working all year singing legit songs and things! Thank you so much! I hope u have an awesome time at Urdang!
Naomi Yes!! I didn't even think my legit singing call went that well but they obviously saw the training in me so just keep going!! X
